Good value with better food than the celebrity chefs
Pricey but pleasant. Not noisy and the pork chop I ate was excellent. So was the desert. We had profiteroles.
We arrived towards closing time, but the staff were very warm and welcoming the food and service were very good. We actually came all the way from Ohio for dinner here :)
The service on October 4th was exceptionally poor. There were very few people in the restaurant and yet the service was slow and inattentive. We have dined here before and this was a uniquely unpleasant experience. We mentioned that this was a special birthday celebration and absolutely nothing was done or offered to mark this occasion. I ordered a coffee and it took at least 20 minutes for me to receive it. After several requests about the birthday, still nothing was proffered. When the check came, we were astounded to see that the coffee cost $7. That is a preposterous amount for a cup of coffee.
I will have to find another neighborhood restaurant to replace Jubilee.
Never disappoints Mussels are the best I have ever had. Wonderful and friendly staff. Nice clientele
Jubilee was wonderful as usual even though it was very crowded, unusual for lunch time. The crowd was obviously not expected since there was only one waitress. Despite the problem for her, the service was excellent, she managed very well. Fortunately, the large groups were not noisy. One friend was at Jubilee for the first time and loved it. He also was right in suspecting that the large groups were from the UN which was just finishing up the yearly high level meeting. As always, the mussels were delicious as was my favorite dessert, profiterolles.
Excellent food, good service. Jubilee is a neighborhood gem
Have been coming here for years. Wonderful atmosphere. Love to sit at the bar and chat with bartender and other guests. Great and attentive servers. Food is always reliable and tasty. Maybe the best French fries in the city! A bit pricey for what it is but I keep coming back.
Great dishes, snails, pate, lamb soups, but some dishes much better than others. My favorite lamb mussels with sausage onion soup, pate cheese plate and the amazing souffles
Great birthday spot
The best French Onion Soup around! A great French bistro, with lots of choices of Mussels and terrific fries.
A favorite comfortable place for hearty food. Love the scallops in mushroom risotto. All the varieties of mussels are good.
My favorite NYC restaurant! Mussels provencal are the best
We usually go here 2-3 times a summer and including this visit are never disappointed. The rack of lamb was superb as was my wife’s steak tartare. Our friend’s sea scallops were outstanding as well. The service was excellent from the waitress who seated us and took our drink orders to the waiters who took the dinner orders and those who brought the food and cleared the table. Professionals all.
A must visit if ever in NYC.
Extremely overpriced for average food.
We come to Jubilee any time we visit New York.. The food is tasty, well prepared and the whole scene is lovely.
Always good never fails best neighborhood restaurant
Always so wonderful and reliable for a great evening!
Husbands first visit to NY.
The best real French restaurant in the city. Nothing fancy, just great food and a comfortable atmosphere .
The service was, at best, casual. The restaurant was 3/4 empty but the personnel waiting on tables was quite insufficient.
Most enjoyable. No complaints. Will definitely return with friends.
Took our friends out to celebrate their anniversary. The salads and the tuna tartare were good appetizers. Loved the bronzino presentation. The shuffle was a good dessert.
Excellent dinner. I had gazpacho soup and a wonderful chicken and mashed potatoes main. The humble chicken was delicious. For dessert a terrific blueberry souflle. My wife had the 10 ounce steak with fries and salad. For dessert the grand mariner souffle. For wine we had a moderately priced French Chardonnay. Overall a restaurant that is just hard to beat. Lots of hot new places around but nothing could beat last nights dinner. We highly recommend Jubilee
the restaurant has a somewhat limited menu but the food is good quality, fresh, and generally well prepared. the wait staff are awkward and the service is NOT up to the quality service one should get when paying this price. When I had difficulty getting up to leave no one offered to help me from my chair, nor helped us with the door, and it was not very late.
Service was a bit slow. Otherwise food was exceptional
Celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in Jubilee. Enjoyed a bottle of sancerre with our meal: salmon & tuna tartare plus grilled octopus as appetizers; scallops with orzo and branzino as our entrees. This was only my second time here (my husband's first). Won't be our last since we enjoyed everything about Jubilee! Merci!
I love this restaurant. It is one of my favorite restaurants, particularly for mussels which of course is a signature dish. However, Mussels Vinaigrette is truly my favorite style and for some reason this has been taken off the menu. Usually I can ask for this preparation but on my last visit I was told no, not possible. I was very disappointed and I hope this preparation is either added to the menu OR will be prepared as requested in the future. It is a particularly wonderful summer dish!
Service was very attentive!
Even the manager jumped to the street to bring a package we forgot
Fair price for brunch includes 3 drinks each.
Bravo to the staff in absence of Luc!
Wonderful service and ambience. Will return without hesitation.
It is always nice to have dinner with friends at the red restaurant. The menu offers many choices and everything is nicely prepared and presented. Our friend uses a motorized scooter and she was taken care of by the staff in a very nice manner. We appreciated this service.
Have been there many times and it is always great food and service
Reliable neighborhood spot, outstanding mussels
Our first time; thought it fabulous. Food, service, charm. Loved it. Best selection of mussels I have ever seen. Our waitress was helpful in suggesting to try different items. In nyc for 5 days staying in theater district yet drove to east side to the restaurant. Would do again in a heartbeat.
Lovely neighborhood spot with consistently good food.
What a gem! Entering Jubilee feels like walking into an elegant, European home, an oasis offering refuge from the bustling city Street right outside. The menu reflects french and international classics, prepared from fresh, fine ingredients ”comme il faut”. Excellent, attentive and friendly service, in a pleasant atmosphere. Luckily I discovered Jubilee though it has existed for some 20 years now.
Jubilee is a Neighborhood Gem
Jubilee offers truly good French fare in a pleasant, more spacious environment than other bistros. (The 1st Avenue location is a wonderful upgrade). The service is pleasant and attentive and the food is very well prepared and tasty. The mussels are divine in various preparations (garlic, parsley, butter is unbelievably delicious), and are served with perfectly cooked , crispy fries or salad. The scallops and risotto with mushrooms are so very good, as is the gazpacho and the house burger. The fig and goat cheese Napoleon is more of a salad than it is a Napoleon, but it is still quite tasty. The soufflés are incredible. Yes, while we are addicted to chocolate, the seasonal soufflés ( think fresh, summer blueberries) are mouth wateringly delicious, and the chocolate soufflé is outstanding. Enjoy this gem of a restaurant for dinner or Sunday brunch ( you can get your typical brunch fare as well as mussels and delicious French options). Whatever meal you choose to enjoy at Jubilee, you willmost certainly be pleased by the delicious food and pleasant atmosphere.
I hadnt been to Jubilee since it was located on E 54th An old firned and I were in town and decided to check out The food was amazing and the best was we could actually have a conversation While the restaurant was filled the tables arent on top of each other. Looking forward to going back again!!
