   from start to finish, everything was a 10/10. The salad, the cocktails, the bread, the steak and frites were all delicious and I cannot wait to go back!

   Always an amazing time at J’s. I appreciate they tell you the time limit your table is reserved for instead of asking you to leave unexpectedly because they have a reservation waiting. It’s only fair to those that have reserved. And since there are no menu choices, 90 minutes is plenty. Food is always exceptional. Order medium rare. I ordered medium and the middle was perfect but the ends came out well done. A steak should be medium rare anyways. The fries are addictive and unlimited. They are always topping up. I don’t know why people say it’s hard to get refills. Just ask and you shall receive. Love the little bottles of ketchup, mayo, and mustard. Who puts mustard on fries? My gf apparently. Wine selection is limited, wish they had more by the glass options. And maybe a bigger selection of beers, only Stella on the menu. I want to try the College location. Apparently their patio is a huge hit in the summer. Can’t go wrong with J’s. Just book early, they are always full, hard to get a reservation if not booked a week in advance. Better value than the overpriced financial district venues.

   Loved the overall experience. My friends enjoyed the steak and frites. One friend didn’t enjoy the micro greens in general (she doesn’t like micro greens) but you get what you get with a one-menu menu. Steak was a good cut. Well marbled. Loved the sauce. End and overall result: amazing. Will be back!

   I had dinner with my friend to celebrate my birthday, and overall, the experience had some great aspects. The food was excellent, the music wasn’t too loud, and we especially loved the host that night—very welcoming and attentive. However, we were quite disappointed with our server. Around 10:30 PM, while we were still enjoying our meal, she came over and asked if we wanted dessert. We declined, and she immediately followed up by asking if we needed a box to go. We told her we were still working on our meal, and she said okay and left. Shortly after, she returned without saying a word and simply dropped the bill on the table before walking away. A little more communication would have made a big difference. If the restaurant was closing soon, a simple explanation like, “We’re about to close, so I’ll just leave the bill here for your convenience,” would have been much more professional and courteous. Instead, the way it was handled made the moment feel rushed and uncomfortable, which was embarrassing as I was hosting my guest. Unfortunately, this experience left a negative impression, and I don’t think I’ll be returning to this location in the future.

   Steak was cold. Service was annoying: plates were being removed as soon as you had your last bite even if your table mates are still eating. The waitress brought the check without us asking, even though there were plenty of empty tables around. We felt rushed all the time. The meat is good but price/service wise, this is not worth it.
