Very friendly and accommodating service. Food is very unique by combining common and uncommon ingredients and well thought through.
Our server Kyle was wonderful! The staff were very pleasant and accommodated us in every way. The wine and food were great. Pleasant view. Would go again and recommend to friends.
We had a very nice dinner at this progressive Pacific Beach restaurant, which has a nice view of the ocean and sunset. The food and service were very good. The chefs sushi / sashimi was excellent!
My mom and I had an
Nice place a bit pricey. Not a every day thing , only special occasions.
Tower23 is a bright spot in PB.
Wonderful service and a million dollar view!
All of our meals were delicious!
Can't wait to return.
Amazing! Family and I will be returning for Fathers Day!
Great food, view and service. What's not to love. 🌊 🌴 ☀
This is my favorite restaurant! Always good! Always. Our server was excellent probably the best server I’ve had in years seriously.
Food was great and service was amazing. We asked for a rare drink that you can't find in many bars called the caprihinia, which is a Brazilian drink. They did not have the alcohol to make it so they made one very similar with a Hawaiian rum. Food was very elegant and tasted amazing. Beach view was nice with glass fence blocking the wind and heaters outside.
Best place to go when in Pacific Beach! Great bar overlooking ocean, and it’s hopping the moment it’s open. Cocktails are great, bartenders friendly. We always sit outdoors, which is right next to the fun, busy boardwalk, but separately by glass. It’s really the place to be! This is a place frequented by locals as much as guests.
Great fresh food, nicely presented and reasonable price for lunch. Good service, validated parking and nice wine selection by the glass.
Birthday, great service!
The food was outstanding. Took our waitress, Stacey, recommendation on the scallop special and it was on point. My wife had the ribeye and it was done to perfection. It was our anniversary so Stacey brought us a complimentary dessert tart. The view from the outside patio is fantastic. We will definitely eat here again.
Food was phenomenal
JRDN is a little pricey but the view makes it worth the visit. The service was great. Our server was attentive and provided great insight on the items on the menu. The food is good but not pretentious. The drink prices were actually a better value than the food so I would strongly recommend happy hour or drinks on a nice day (which is almost every day in San Diego). I'll be back.
Can't say we weren't warned by other reviewers. But first some details. Our server was VERY good. We ordered a shrimp cocktail (lotsa shrimp!) which was fine, and some Kobe Sliders which were very tasty. We specified to bring us the food as it was available. Both arrived very promptly. But my main course, the Halibut was delayed... like 40 minutes after we got our two appetizers! The waitress spoke to the manager. It kind of worked out because my dish was comped for the delay so I could say "I won." Got 1000 reward points for taking an 8pm table, and a lower cost meal than I had expected, plus an otherwise pleasant experience.
The restaurant is ultra modern, very clean bathroom, interesting decor with both inside and outside seating right on/near the beach. But they do have to work on the kitchen's ability to deliver on time.
Food was excellent. Fun restaurant. Amazing location. All the qualities there to make for a perfect evening. Except for our waitress. When we asked about the fresh fish special. She went back to find out and returned with “striped bass”. When we said is that anything like sea bass? she said “your guess is as good as mine”. Hmmm well rest of the night with her was no better. Someone else served us our food and we’re pretty sure she never stopped by again except when we flagged her down for our bill. BTW the roasted chicken was amazing.
I’ve been going here for years. This last time was a little disappointing due to lack of service. Our waiter hardly checked in on us. We always had to track him down. Upon our arrival we felt rushed to put in our order, even after telling him we wanted to order after the appetizers arrived. My daughter took one bite of her chicken sandwich and took the rest to go. A good waiter would have been concerned that her meal wasn’t touched. The mussels I ordered were not as brothy as I remember, but still very good.
It's one of the only spots in PB where you're close to the beach. The sunset was very beautiful. You're on top of the sidewalk, which is okay because you're separated. The food was over priced for what it was worth. I appreciate a "different" menu, but you can get more affordable food else where. You're paying for the location.
Chef Christian's blueberry lavender pannacotta was amazing! Our appetizer and entrees were complex and delicious. Our waitress was outstanding. We had a great night!
Great location -- overlooking the beach. Food was great, service was exceptional -- this is an ideal place for brunch!
The staff was very friendly and was very happy to help us with our breakfast selection
The fabulous ocean view never disappoints and the food is always great. Wonderful place for a special occasion or everyday dining if you can be that lucky.
Beautiful views, terrible service and subpar food that came at a high price. There are so many better places to eat in San Diego -- take your money elsewhere.
Booked it to celebrate my wife’s birthday and mentioned it in the comments but was not acknowledged when we ate there.
Great spot near the beach. The short rib hash was amazing.
We were strongly encouraged to make dinner reservations at JDRN while we were in San Diego for our honeymoon! Our server was Stacey and she was quick with suggestions from food to drinks! Eating at JDRN on the last night of our honeymoon was such a treat with the amazing food and sunset views. If we find ourselves in the area again we will definitely be going back.
Pretty room with a view over the ocean. Slack service. Bar staff mostly focused on their friends. Noisy.
We came for the sunset view and the seafood, for our last night in San Diego. The waiter was from Greece ( I can't recall his name), but he was cool and attentive, even offered to take our photo while balancing an armful of dishes! The sushi rolls were delicious, and the beet salad was amazingly fresh and flavorful. The vibe of JRDN was hip and classy, without being pretentious. Several staff brought us food and tended to our needs. The highlight of the night was the valet, who my teenage daughter claimed as the most beautiful male she'd ever seen! WE had a fabulous night and would go back if in town again.
They didn't inform us upon making the reservation that there was only outside (freezing cold) seating available only. They convinced us to wait in the bar that was so loud we couldn't hear each other speak. 1 1/2 hours later there still was no seating in the dinning room. We ate sugar laden appetizers for dinner. It was a horrible experience.
Shrimp hush puppies are the bomb. The view is great and the service is outstanding. Next time I’m in PB I’m going back.
Had ran out of all the best things on the menu!
We got there early and there for breakfast and no one was there but the bartender. We went outside
to eat and it was too cold. We couldn't get anyone to start the outside heaters, so we then sat inside
Food was great. I think they need more staff to be attentive to arriving guests as we sat for awhile before anyone came to wait on us. A nice guy finally brought coffee over. Food is great, service needs
a bit more attention even when the restaurant was empty.
Steven Okidi was the most amazing sever I’ve ever had in my life!
On vacation and stopped after some pics at sunset. Had made reservation and they allowed us to get seated 1/2 hour early. Awesome tower of fresh shellfish, incredible steak for my daughter while my wife enjoyed the lobster and butternut squash special. Top notch.
My mother will soon be 94 years young!
We sat in the bar area looking out the windows. Lovely views without sitting in the sun. The bartender/waiter was super and I am sorry I don't remember his name. Great blue eyes, beard and nearly shaved head. We each had a roll which were delicious and beautifully presented. Very enjoyable lunch!!
We returned to JRDN for our annual trip to Pacific Beach but were very disappointed by the slow service and so so food. It began with an unpleasant greeting from the hostess who hardly acknowledged our long time reservation (even when we stopped by early to reconfirm.). After much swaying she finally gave us a table on the patio which we had requested for the sunset. It turned out to be super cold as their heat-lamps are spaced too far apart and don’t reach all the tables. Our waiter was pleasant but disappeared for huge amounts of time. The sushi appetizers took forever which he acknowledged was the fault of the kitchen but did nothing to make up for it, and the lobster roll, when it finally came, was very disappointing. Super dry and overly spicy. The brusselsprouts app was super greasy. The entrees were over priced and disappointing. Dinner took forever, we were freezing, the food was mediocre, service was poor and our bill was over $200 for three of us. Probably won’t go back again,
Dinner was excellent. Service was great. Love the patio dining.
