JP's At Pickwick
We refuse to compromise on quality in our restaurant. That's why we source our fresh ingredients from local farmers' markets.
We have eaten here two times and the service was not good either time and we had two different waitresses. Food was fine but not worth the price we paid.
Kelly was our server and was so sweet and very attentive! We will definitely be back.
Was nothing like the pictures on the web site. Nothing special about this place. Ordered a Ribeye and it was over cooked, and not a very good cut. Steak was lukewarm. Furniture was old. Does not offer a filet. Very in impressed.
Great birthday dinner for our family of 6! Service was excellent As was the food! Men got steak cooked to order and perfection!
Ladies got fried and grilled shrimp!
Generous portions, delicious food, excellent service!
We will be back!
Very good food and chef actually checks on customers!
Best oysters Rockefeller EVER! Also had the special of filet and lobster tail..the lobster tail was amazing!! No rubbery texture ..just excellent. Service was good but they were spread thin for the crowd they were accommodating...overall its worth the reservation time!! Cant wait for next experience there...
Great steak and lobster dinner NYE. Wonderful dinner and then a night at the State Park was a great way to end 2020. We'll be back to JP's when boating season resumes.
Steak and lobster tail special was perfect. One of my favorite places in Pickwick. Always great food and friendly staff.
Great food. Redfish with cheese grits are excellent
Enjoyed dinner so much, went back for lunch the next day!
We arrived early for our reservation and enjoyed cocktails in the bar area. We were seated quickly, when all of our party of 6 arrived. Our server, “Red”, was full of personality and charm. We enjoyed interacting with Red. There wasn’t a fish of the day available, as they were sold out (7:20 pm on a Friday night) but a substitute was offered. We waited a little longer for our food, after ordering, but it arrived hot and very tasty. However, our only complaint is that our salads were brought out, at the same time, with our entree’s, not before. There was more than ample time for our salads to have been served, prior to our main course. Instead, it was all served at the very same time. But, we enjoyed our meal. We enjoyed our bartender, and we enjoyed our server. We will absolutely return. The meal was very tasty, and our server was full of charm, which made up for the few flaws in our night. For the most part, it was a really nice meal.
Server was very nice but a little distracted. We ordered drinks and appetizers. I told her we would like our appetizers before meal was brought. She did check on us several times, but had to remind her of a drink order. Appetizers came out and wasn’t very long food was out and we still had most of the appetizers left to eat. One of the grouper plates, the fish was not completely cooked and had to send it back. But when the plate was returned the fish was very good. Overall a good dining experience. Learned not to order entree until through with appetizers.
Blackend catfish was very good and baked potato nice and fresh. Oysters were very small and too much breading for our liking. Loved the fries. Salad was nice but you all need new serving pieces for salad presentation.....quality of the salad was good. Blue cheese dressing needs to be beefed up a bit.....thicken the dressing and add chunks of blue cheese. Overall for pickwick a nice new kid on the block. This place has potential as long as the quality of food remains very good. Based on this one time visit we are going to try the Taco Tues. so that should tell you something :)
I’ve been here several times for lunch and dinner. Food is always great. Service can lagging at times but always friendly and courteous.
Waitress was unclear on how the catch of the day was prepared which was grouper. The lemon pepper catfish was unappetizing. And had a hard time getting toppings for The baked potato after ordering a loaded potato. Maybe it was just a bad night, but it wasn’t very crowed.
Waitress was great. Food was ok. My steak was cooked right and my wife’s was way over cooked. When food came out we had ordered loaded baked potatoes and they came Bare. The person who brought food out said she was going to get butter etc and never did . 10 min later our server got for us. Our server was very helpful and very good. She needed some help.
Food was great and the service was excellent. Will be back !!
Food always good. We went with reservations for 12. Was at 6:30 and there was one other small table occupied. We ordered drinks and had to go get them as they were sitting on the bar getting watered down while the staff sat and talked on their phones. The foodcame with one missing and delivered at the end after everyone was through eating and didnt even apologize. Two orders were wrong
Great Food, Great Service, Great Atmosphere, and very friendly people. A much needed good restaurant In the Pickwick area. Robert Bristow has done a great job bringing a nostalgic restaurant name from a great past history to the Pickwick. We wish them the best of luck.
I have dined at JP’S 3 weekends in a row and a total of 4 times. My experiences have been excellent. Keep the catch of the day. That’s my favorite. Pickwick has needed a nice restaurant for a long time.
Chose JP's for our anniversary; had not dined there previously. We both had Catfish; fried and blackened. Fish was pretty good. Slaw and cheese grits not good. My side salad was good. Might try again.
Service was great and food wasn’t bad but a bit over priced on the food and drinks.
Food was ok but nothing that would bring me back. There is zero atmosphere in the place. Lighting is harsh and sets no great dining mood. Overall average at best, and that is being generous. I really wanted this to be a nice place
Best steak i have experienced in a long time! Service was great! Also enjoyed the music entertainment!!
Fried Oysters were a joke. Very small and over cooked. Batter was pasty. Butterfly shrimp was not butterflied. Catfish was runny. Not well cooked. Ribeye steak was mediocre. $14 for a margarita was rediculous. Our two tabs were $137 for poor food. We won’t be back
Awesome! Food and service is exceptional!
They were understaffed and had to wait 30+ for food and had to ask others to get our drinks. Waitress tried her best but just not enough help!
The hostess was warm and friendly and accommodated our early arrival for our reservation.
Our waitress was nice and worked very hard.
The food was not good at all.
The meat and cheese plate took a very long time to come out and the meat was slimy and cold. We had to wait even longer for crackers which were stale. The appetizer plates came when we were finished.
The fried shrimp was very bland and over battered.
The hush puppies were not eatable, they were like eating dry wall.
The fried catfish was pretty good, just needed to be cooked longer.
The best thing on the table was the baked potatoes, but we had to wait for the butter, sour cream and cheese to come to the table one item at a time.
Again, the waitress worked hard but it seemed that there was little to no support for her from the kitchen. Why would the condiments not come out from the kitchen.
She was running all over the place for cocktail and tarter sauce and potato fixings.
Overall it was very disappointing.
We really wanted the food to be good because we come to Pickwick all of the time and need good places to eat.
We are lunch here for the first time and enjoyed every bit of it. The food was so fresh and tasteful. I have steak sandwich and it is my favorite so far. We also had shrimp salad it was perfect. Great staff and very friendly. We will be back next weekend
First time to visit with 6 at our table.
Service was excellent.
Food was great!
Made reservation in advance so walked right in.
Service with KJ was awesome as usual. She is super sweet and service and food have always been prompt.
This restaurant has an awesome atmosphere. The owner comes around and ask us two of three times was everything ok. They have a nice bar area.
The fish nachos are awesome!!
Food was very good. All staff friendly. Could use a little more atmosphere. But overall a great experience.
Our server was not very good. Food came 64 minutes after ordering and was not hot. Food tasted great even though it was cold. Was charged for 5 drinks when only had 3. Also never got part of my food order.
The other servers seemed to be working hard . We will try again with another server.
Good food, glad a nice restaurant re-opened there.
My wife had the fried oysters and I had the small ribeye. Everything was good with the exception of the steak being overdone. We both ordered the chocolate pie that was listed on the daily specials. They need a new dessert chef.
Tables were not far apart. Very loud.
Amazing food, friendly fast service!!! Will definitely be back.
Good food, friendly staff. A nice addition to the Pickwick area. We had sandwiches (one chicken, one steak). Good flavor to both, skinny fries which we like.
Waitress was very sweet and made sure to answer each question and checked on us frequently.
This is a good casual restaurant, perfect for the area.
