Joyce's Seafood & Steaks
Joyce’s Seafood & Steaks is a neighborhood bistro experience in Houston that has become a favorite with locals ever since opening the doors in 1997. Known for the freshest Gulf seafood and mouthwatering steaks, Joyce’s Seafood & Steaks has been given kudos and awards galore, including from Houston Press, Texas Monthly, Saveur Magazine and the Houston Chronicle.
House specialties at Joyce’s Seafood & Steaks include lobster and shrimp enchiladas, seafood gumbo, fresh fish, and Texas Gulf oysters . For something other than seafood try the filet mignon. Just be sure to save some room for dessert because the white chocolate bread pudding with pecans and bourbon sauce is to die for.
It's not bad, just not good. A place for regulars who enjoy the proximity and know what to expect. A more mature crowd.
The food was very bland, the gumbo was burnt, and the bread pudding was not real bread pudding. The staff was super friendly tho
We took out of town company and friends that had never been to Joyce’s.
Had a great time and the food and service were wonderful!
We were sat in the back close to a tree and the kitchen. It was pretty busy and towards the end of the night the hostess asked to take a chair from our table when there were three empty tables around us.
Good food, good size portions, good service. Good seafood restaurant
Nice neighborhood feel, Definitely not just a neighborhood restaurant though.
Recommend if you are considering trying it out, you do so.
One of our Favorite Restaurants. We always love the Seafood!
always quality food & such a warm & friendly owner who is always overseeing what’s going on
Great food in a local neighborhood restaurant worth checking out when you have a chance.
Service great and the food is always delicious.
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Friendly service and excellent food.
We always enjoy Joyce's, the food is consistently good and the service is attentive but not overbearing. We were there during restaurant month 2019 and the selections were varied and full size servings. Their gumbo is delicious, dark roux and lots of seafood. The blackened red snapper Ponchatrain was served with their pecan rice and 2 large asparagus spears. Even when it's not restaurant week/month their prices are moderate for the size serving.
The decor makes you feel you are eating in one of your favorite beachside restaurants.
Always a great experience at Joyce’s
The food and service at Joyce's ia alwasy excellent. The portions are generous and the service attentive without being overbearing. We will return to Joyce's soon!
Always delicious and fresh!
It was my first time. My brother and I enjoyed the food. Our waiter, Oscar, was excellent! He knew the menu and answered all our questions and was attentive. It wasn’t loud so we could enjoy conversation. Food was delicious and we will be back!
The hostess even thanked us for coming when we left!
A true neighborhood gem. I love going there and having them know me by name.
Fish was fabulous. However, key lime pie suffered from freezer burn.
This a real neighborhood favorite among all the friends. An easy, wonderful place to have a delicious meal where we can hear each other and have great conversations~
The crab cake was delicious. The rainbow trout with angel hair pasta was very good. My husband and his mom enjoyed the fried shrimp. The apple crisp for dessert was also very good. It was nice to dine in a restaurant that was not noisy.
Fabulous food in a fun, neighborhood venue. We chose three desserts to top off our night; crepe brûlée, bread pudding and key lime pie. All yummy!
From the service to the food everything was excellent!!!
Definitely making this my #1 seafood restaurant to go to with my family and for date night.
Thank you guys for making my daughters graduation day special.
We love Joyced plain and simple. It always always feels like coming home. Only caveat is that even off hours it is so popular that you may have trouble finding handicap parking. It is worth the walk though.
Great fresh fish. Great service. Great cocktails and adequate wine selection. Nice neighborhood atmosphere. Treated like a valuable and good friend.
Friendly atmosfere. Good food.
Fresh fish was excellent. Service excellent. Very attentive. reasonable prices. Easy to converse...Noise level low. Neighborhood gem. Nice menu selection. easy parking. would definitely return.
Had the the oysters and shrimp to start. They were not as good as the cooked fresh fish. Great flavors. Would go back.
Always enjoy this local restaurant. Food very good. Always have had their seafood. So can't comment on steaks. The bread pudding is the best in the city.
A favorite! A real gem! We love the staff!
The definitive suburban Houston. Busy, generally older clientele, unpretentious. Good sized portions. Average.
Excellent seafood! A treat I look forward to when I am home in Houston. Oysters are great. I almost always ends up ordering the snapper special—it’s so good.
Great neighborhood seafood restaurant. Always delicious food!
Joyce's always has great seafood. We especially love the cold fresh oysters and the red snapper special topped with crabmeat. The salads are always tasty and fresh and the vegetables are cooked perfectly. Service was friendly, responsive and with just the right amount of attention.
Found this neighborhood gem and we were delighted with the food and the ambiance. You get treated like you are family. We will be back to taste other dishes that caught our attention. We went for the seafood of course.
WE have dined at Joyce's many times. Portions are good size , drink sizes as well food is always very good
Great Meal and Service
This is a great neighborhood restaurant. Been eating here for a number of years.
