Joseph's Culinary Pub
it is oneof the best restaurants any where and we are very lucky to have it here in Santa Fe.
We had an excellent meal and the service was great. Sarah our server had a wonderful personality and made us feel very welcome. The environment was warm and receptive. The menu provided an unique selection of appetizers and entrees. We were not disappointed in our selections. This is the second time we have been to Joseph's and we plan to be back many times in the future.
We just love this place. While it has a casual ambiance, the food, service, wine are all 5 star quality. Our waitresses suggestions and descriptions for everything were spot on. I wish we had the chance to eat here every week!
Excellent wait person, terrific food and well described, a very positive experience and you can hear one another speak even when quite full. Not quiet but far more doable than many other locations.
So glad you have vegan options and also that you started serving better bread than the insipid wonderbread type rolls you used to have. I wish you had salt and pepper on the table, so that I don't have to ask for it every time I eat at your establishment. The food is very nice, however, my friend found her ratatouille a bit too oily. Over all I enjoy coming to your restaurant, and find the food tasty. I always hope you will have cauliflower steaks again. They were outstanding!
was a great meal with great service. i will be back again❤
There are a bunch of places I love, love, love here in Albuquerque...but Joseph's and The Love Apple (in Taos) are my two favorite restaurants in New Mexico.
Charming! Indoor and outdoor seating. Wonderful, delicious food. Creative menu. Great service. We will most definitely be visiting again soon.
Awesome food and service.
The quality & flavor of our dinners were really great!!! A little disappointed in the duck fat fries but would def come back for a visit!!!
Excellent food, service, private table. Convenient parking. Beautiful presentation. Our party of four had 2 chicken under a brick orders, Sea Bass and a Chile Relleno. Very satisfying. Delicious roasted Brussels sprouts. Good portions. We tried the flourless chocolate cake which was exquisite. Also the butterscotch pudding with caramel sauce was delightful. I will definitely be back.
Three words: Tres Leches Cake! YUM! What an amazing dessert to cap off a wonderful meal. This is such a splendid place. Beautifully acquainted and lighted. Full of happy people dining and enjoying themselves and looking fine. We had a fantastic beet/avocado salad, crab soup, lamb burger with chèvre, vegetable tortilla and chicken liver mousse. All were excellent. So were our waitress and busgirl who made us feel human and happy and recognized. An unforgettable dining experience.
We enjoyed are visit to Josephs and were fortunate enough to sit next to the owner and executive chef Josephs family. The only reason for the 4 star review is because 3 of us ordered the short rib and it was way over cooked. So much show it was not tender but very chewy and dense. That alone should not discourage you from having your own experience at Josephs. This was probably just an off night for this one dish.
Excellent food and service.
Relaxed atmosphere. Creative menu. Highly recommend the lamb burger and enchilada the staff were very helpful and good service.
Creative cuisine served in an attractive and warm setting We had an appetizer of fresh corn with spicy aioli which was bold and mellow at the same time, took our breath away For mains we had the ratatouille with kale and the sea bass with wild rice and spinach Both novel in some respects —- eg the ratatouille was crunchy while the seabass was accompanied by a slightly sweet sauce that formed a nice contrast The meal was perfectly complemented by a Nebbiolo wine and the bill for two was just under $100, very good value for money!
The wait staff and service was great. Very knowledgeable and kind. I didn't love the food. My rib was full of grit and while I didn't say anything I just didn't like the flavor. We ordered the street corn and thought it was spicy but then overhead another table complain about the spice on that dish. Very cute place, great staff, food was so-so. I didn't feel like it was appropriate for the cost of each meal.
Excellently prepared food with some interesting/unusual/appealing combinations of ingredients and flavors. Especially recommend the ratatouille as an appetizer. Server was personable and provided very competent and helpful service.
Outstanding meal from the corn appetizer to the duck confit. Would come back anytime.
Come for the cuisine, enjoy perusing the wine list and marvel at the service. We have been dining with Joseph for over two decades, starting with his original restaurant in Taos, Joseph's Table, then after he moved to the Taos La Fonda, and now at his culinary pub in Santa Fe. The inventiveness and scope of his culinary talents never disappoint, and our recent visit was no exception, the first courses, a beet salad and a spectacular rendition of esquites (a sweet, spicy and vibrant fresh corn appetizer) were delicious and following those with the Fish Du Jour of fresh corvina and my order of Buffalo short ribs both hit the mark they were aiming for. Throw in the fact that there is off street parking and you cannot go wrong.
my favorite restaurant in santa fe! never disappoints!
After easily 100 times at Josephs, this meal was less than wonderful AS THEY ALWAYS ARE.
I was surprised actually.
The quinoa relleno might be offered with addition of cheese....it was really just very so so flavorwise.
The buffalo short runs were decent, whatever the red vegetable was on the side, chard? Overpowered the plate, way too much of a very inexpensive item.
Our wines were well addressed, critiqued and our salads were AMAZING, the Oregano Vin I will replicate with Butter lettuce, very nice mix with almonds!!
I have never left anything but a stellar review, this meal was just moderate, very dark autumn-looking meal for May.
No worries, I love Joseph and I love Joseph's Culinary Pub.
It’s a one of a kind lace for unpretentious and yet very memorable meals. Highly recommended on all fronts.
Unfortunately we ate there on a Sunday when Joseph himself was not present. The kitchen served up an incredibly greasy meal that took me two days to recover from. Joseph is an imaginative and very competent chef but when he is not around, watch out, and remember--the bill will still be the same!
PS desserts never fail, always excellent
ON the one hand, I enjoyed the meal with a friend at the restaurant. We sat in a corner niche with lovely candles hanging and burning on the wall. It was pretty intimate and quiet for the first fifteen minutes of our arrival. Then five women were seated at the cozy four top next to us--a table two feet away. Two of these women started drinking and within a short period of time they were yelling and ramping up the volume of their group's conversation to a point beyond annoyance. My friend and i had to lean cross the table to hear one another. The rest of the place was not loud or noisy in any way; this table was obnoxious.
It truly spoiled what should have been an excellent atmosphere and meal.
With regards the meal, I felt it was lacking in enough vegetables as listed on the menu. I got the chicken under a brick and thought it would be accompanied by a nice portion of brussels and spinach as well mushrooms as described. Those touches were like garnishes, so the meal was not as completely balanced as it should have been. I didn't expect a heaping plateful, but a standard serving of the veggies would be better. The Cloud Cake is divine. I"ll be back to eat that dessert and give the place another stab at vegetables and better seating planning. I"m hopeful the proprietors will step up to the plate.
We had a lovely meal. 4 of us, two swordfish specials which were delicious. Two meat dishes, one was highly rated, one was ok, the buffalo burger. Wine was very good too. Service was excellent.
From the moment you walk in the beautiful wooden doors and are greeted by an ancient angel sculpture that resides between the bar and the dining area you know you’re in for a special experience. From there you’re are guided masterfully by friendly hosts, brilliant servers, artful plates, smooth jazz music and smiling guests. The food is creative, clean, complex and perfect. The beer and wine lists rival any Santa Fe has to offer! Nobody does lamb better than Joseph’s, the tartare is a personal favorite. Some of the best local draft beers and a deft bottle/can list along with a spot on wine list invite your palate to travel across continents to origins of better days and exotic climates. Get the butterscotch pudding, just do, even if you don’t need it! When you walk back through that heavy wooden door you’ll be changed for the better and you’ll be planning your next visit the second you’re gone...
Joseph's is one of my favorite restaurants in Santa Fe. Not only is the food delicious, it is interesting and it is open on Sunday and all the other days. So many restaurants in Santa Fe are closed on Sunday or Monday. Joseph's is always there for us. Another important fact is that it has free parking near by. Great place.
Still think for this caliber of food it’s the best in Santa Fe
Love your restaurant. It is a bit too noisy but great service. It is too expensive for many but very good
We tried Joseph's Culinary Pub for the first time two days ago. The food was excellent, our server was attentive, HOWEVER, when the dessert arrived (which also tasted very good) I knew something was terribly WRONG after I had my first bite of a green macaroon that was part of the dessert.
I have a significant allergic reaction to nuts. I was very careful not to order anything on the menu that mentioned nuts, and I searched the menu for anything that would warn the diner about the possibility of nuts being an unlisted ingredient and found nothing. The menu said nothing about telling your server if you have nut allergies.
After asking the waiter, I was informed that the dessert contained Pistachios. Even though I had only had one bite, I knew I needed to get home to my EpiPen, and I needed the waiter to take the dessert off of our bill.
That's when the trouble began. We had to wait five minutes while the server talked to the manager to get permission to take the dessert off the bill. She came to our table and blamed ME for not noticing that many of their items contain nuts and that it was MY own FAULT for not telling my server about my allergies.
After that encounter with the manager (I just needed to get home or to the ER if it took much longer), we had to wait another five minutes for our bill, only to get ANOTHER lecture, this time from JOSEPH himself. He came to our table and told us that macaroons are made with either almond or pistachio flour and that I should have known that. He apologized for nothing. They only took the dessert off of our bill.
This was two days ago. My face is still red and swollen and I can't go out in public. Yesterday I was confined to my bed. It is a horrible feeling to be poisoned at a nice restaurant and for them to have no compassion for you at all. It's truly a shame because I really thought the food was good. I think that they should have treated me much better.
Excellent, well prepared and innovative food makes it well worth while!
I can’t say enough about this wonderful place. I first came here about a year ago on a whim and had the most incredible meal. So when I went back to visit Santa Fe again I just had to pop in. The staff is so warm and friendly, the atmosphere is romantic - dimly lit with a beautiful ambience. The food here is just incredible; everything I’ve tasted has been delightful and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful in assisting your dining experience.
Cozy, charming restaurant with exceptional food and service. I'd go here again and again and again....
Best food in Santa Fe and one of the most charming settings. Also, parking is a breeze!
We had another wonderful meal at Joseph’s on Saturday night, a celebratory dinner for me and my girlfriends. All of us ooooed and ahhhed over the flavor of the tuna poke appetizer and the vegetable napoleon especially. And the wine list and service was excellent. One of my favorite places in Santa Fe, time and again.
We had a delicious meal in a beautiful, cozy setting.
The lamb burger was good and they had gluten free buns! The dessert was ok. The appetizer was so
hot that it was inedible. I believe my companions were not impressed with the food either. Service was excellent and ambience good.
Everything was great and we used PBS 2:1 entree cards.
