The story of Josephine’s begins during our executive chef Daniel LeBoon’s childhood. At eight years old, working for his father’s catering company, Daniel discovered a passion for food. This love — and undeniable talent — saw him intern at Philadelphia’s prestigious Le Bec-Fin. He went on to work in Paris at the venerable Hotel Vernet working under the renowned chef’s Alain Solvere and Alain Ducasse. In 2004, Daniel purchased Josephine’s in Marietta and developed an extremely loyal following based on the combination of great food, great atmosphere and great hospitality. Although Josephine’s closed in 2011, the name and the experiences are fondly remember by countless people.
Dijon cream, potato puree, brocollini, brown butter powder
Parmesan broth, spiced pepita, shaved parmesan
Braised Lamb Pasta
Gnocchi sardi, orange & vadouvan curry emulsion, coconut, tomato confit, chanterelle mushrooms, roasted pearl onions
We went to Josephine's to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our menu included a note of congratulations from the restaurant when we arrived. There was a talented piano player providing beautiful music, however, we were seated right next to them and it was a bit loud at times. The food was outstanding. However, almost every dish had some sort of mushrooms included. Neither of us are fans, so it made our dinner selection a bit difficult.
Wonderful meal with speedy impeccable service. I cannot wait to go back!
Simply not worth it & don't recommend. Other than our server, the experience was below even reasonable expectations.
Great service but the food was not good. I had the special, I got the aged NY Strip and it was awful. Extremely tough and full of grizzle. Not what I expected from a $50 piece of beef. Very disappointing.
Everything was great for a perfect date night! The crab cakes were amazing...nothing but lump crab meat! The service was great too!
Great food and service. Sorry we had to rush off for a show and couldn't try a dessert.
Great place for anniversary dinner and birthday dinner with friends and families!
Loved sitting by the piano for Friday night date night! ❤️
Food, service and ambiance were very good, we were sitting near the bar area and it was very noisy, took a lot away from enjoying the piano player. Overall a very good experience.
Wonderful food and service!
This restaurant is the newest gem in the city! It's awesome. Everything about this restaurant is top notch! And definitely a foodie's dream!
Everything was fantastic. The food and service were exceptional. There was live piano music which was very nice, but not overpowering. We went for our anniversary, and as a special touch they had special menu inserts with our names on them. These guys go the extra mile. Well worth it in every way.
Tables are close together and acoustics not great so conversation can be challenging
Celebrating birthday - felt very special. Excellent food quality!
Amazing as always
Wonderful service. Food delicious but a bit over priced
I made the reservation to celebrate my boyfriends birthday a week early
Very professional excellent food everything positive no negative’s
What a wonderful gem of a Restuarant ....... a beautiful menu with all the right choices a for my taste... great wine list and what I lived was from the time I entered everyone was helpful and friendly .... definitely a return kind of place.
1st time at restaurant, won’t be the last. Food superb, flavors bursting!!! Fun time and super staff!!
Absolutely AMAZING dinner with friends. Food was some of the best we have had in Lancaster. Our waiter, James, was the best waiter we have had and made the night very enjoyable. Excellent overall experience.
We loved everything. My husband told me the rack of lamb was excellent, the mussels took me back to France and the service, everything was wonderful.
Fabulous experience from beginning to end! The food was perfect. The atmosphere was lovely. It was a perfect anniversary dinner!
We like the restaurant. Our concern was that you no longer offer that wonderful meatloaf. All three of us specifically returned so we could have it again, but you no longer serve it.
We came in for our anniversary dinner and everything was wonderful. They sat us right by the piano (and had someone actually playing it, which really added to the ambiance and seems so rare these days) and even printed out a sleeve for our menus wishing us a happy anniversary, it was such a nice touch. The drink list had a good variety, cocktails were great, and the food was delicious. The service was impeccable, our server was clearly experienced, and was just lovely overall. Would highly recommend, especially for a romantic evening.
Everything was spectacular! Had to wait for our table(had a 7pm reservation but wasn’t seated until 7:20) but the bar is welcoming and dinner was well worth the wait.
Didn't start well, I don't like waiting a half hour when I have reservations. Reservations at 7:00 but not seated until 7:30. Glass wine room was beautiful but way too loud. Had an 8 top and a couple 4 tops next to us. Nobody's fault on that but would have rather sat in a quieter area as a 2 top. Food was good/average. Sugar on creme brûlée was a little burnt which was disappointing. Was delicious otherwise. Price is what I expected no complaints. Service could have been faster but the waiter had too many tables. Not his fault at all since he seemed to be moving as fast as he could. Very nice of him treating us to a couple glasses of champagne due to the time on service. We really appreciated that. Showed he cared. Overall disappointed for the $200+ bill (includes drinks at bar). Wish I could recommend but there are a lot of restaurants in Lancaster that I'd recommend over Josephine's.
Could take a little more in checking that the sharps are out of the seafood. But I would highly recommend this establishment if you enjoy the fine dining and the atmosphere then this is the place.
Portions are very small, the meal was delicious .wry nice atmospheres
This was for a Valentine’s date. The service and the food were excellent. The menu is a bit limited but the quality of the food makes up for that. We also enjoyed our cocktails very much! We were seated at a table which was nice and private for a date. We had a lovely time. The only thing that was not up to par were the desserts. They left a little to be desired. Otherwise an excellent experience.
Fantastic food, great drinks at a good price, and the best waiter!
The escargot was amazingly great and uniquely served! I had the fillet which was perfectly prepared medium rare and delicious, my wife had the scallops and raved about them.....but we will be going back specifically for the escargot!
A top notch restaurant, to be sure. Every aspect of this restaurant is fantastic, from when they greet you, to the bar service, to the decor. We had a wonderful table, and the service is as good as it gets. Reminds me of a 5 star restaurant in NYC. Food was spectacular and our server's attention to detail was wonderful. Cannot wait to go back.
Beautiful space. Our server was awesome. Not over intrusive, but, very attentive. Cocktails were perfection and every bite of food was delicious!!
Ten’s across the board.
My husband and I were treated like royalty from the minute we arrive to our departure. The ambiance was perfect and the food was outstanding. I would recommend Josephine's to anyone looking for a relaxing and exceptional dining experience.
Loved the renovations and the food was amazing !!! Looking forward to coming again.
Absolutely the best dinner at this fine restaurant. The service, the ambiance, the wonderful pianist playing softly in the background. Fisherman Wharf Stew is excellent.
Cocktails are deliciously good,
Our server,Jamie, was pleasant, cordial, knowledgeable.
Will definitely go back,
Stunning decor. Impeccable service. Exquisite food and cocktails presented artfully. Incredible menu. Just a perfect dining experience. Cannot wait to go back and take friends. A spectacular new Lancaster gem. You must go.
Delicious!!! And we loved the vintage film picture collection💜
