The story of Josephine’s begins during our executive chef Daniel LeBoon’s childhood. At eight years old, working for his father’s catering company, Daniel discovered a passion for food. This love — and undeniable talent — saw him intern at Philadelphia’s prestigious Le Bec-Fin. He went on to work in Paris at the venerable Hotel Vernet working under the renowned chef’s Alain Solvere and Alain Ducasse. In 2004, Daniel purchased Josephine’s in Marietta and developed an extremely loyal following based on the combination of great food, great atmosphere and great hospitality. Although Josephine’s closed in 2011, the name and the experiences are fondly remembered by countless people.

Everything was great , Customer service was excellent and the drinks were delicious just as our meal . We both chose chef special which was crab cakes . They melted in our mouth so delicious . Good portions .
A wonderful experience on every level from atmosphere, to service, to the food itself. This is a place to enjoy on a special occasion or simply as a treat because you deserve it.
We celebrated our Anniversary on a weekend away and Josephine’s made our dinner even more special with a personalized greeting on our menu and a nice spot in the restaurant. The food was outstanding- an amazing no filler crab cake that was even better than what we get on the Delaware Shore and a very tender and flavorful duck breast. The presentation of all the dishes was first class and the service from Robert (our waiter) and Gail (our hostess) was personalized and special. A great place for any occasion. Highly recommended!!
Food was amazing and so was the service! Will be back!
Excellent menu. Nice atmosphere. Top tier restaurant in Lancaster.
By far, one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time!
My wife and I are "empty nesters" and dine out locally and nationally several times per week. quite simply, this is the best dining experience in all categories in Lancaster County, period.
The best dining experience in Lancaster
We have known the chef for many years and loved the food although I though the portion of Halibut was a little small. I suggest using fresh liver and searing it rather than pate - torchon.
Front of house were great - she was very personable and helpful with our coats.
The Waiter is where things were not 100%. He seemed in a rush to get us in and out. Other tables were offered bread - we were not. After delivering the champagne and pouring the taste he did not offer to refill our glasses ever. We watched him do it for tables beside us. When the food arrived the server dropped the plates down incorrectly and disappeared in a flash before we could tell them the order was backwards. No one asked how the food was during service. We will come back but the lesser TIP reflected the service.
Daniel, our server, was really excellent! The food was excellent as well.
My BF had asked me to find somewhere quiet and not bring friends so we could talk about something he had on his mind so I chose josephines instead of upstairs. Had i known about the piano i would have asked to be seated further from it. Everything else was lovely
The food, the ambiance was amazing. The service from Zack outstanding! We will definitely be back!
Everything about this place is amazing: decor, ambience, host, waiter and food. Will be back again when in town. Thank you!
This was the best meal I’ve had in Lancaster recently. Service was excellent. Ambience very upscale. Could not have had a better meal.
The hostess Gail was a delight , we totally enjoyed her!
Our server was Zach and he was very attentive and had a great personality !
I would highly recommend this fabulous establishment, and wish we had a restaurant like this in our Ct. area!
Great food. Fantastic service.
We enjoyed our time here. The food was very good. The service exellent.
My husband and I had dinner here last evening. We had the seafood specials, lobster filled with crab and crab cake. They were both phenomenal! Josephines is a new favorite for sure and great atmosphere!
Honestly all around phenomenal. Expensive but worth it.
Josephine's is, in a word, exquisite. The service, creative cocktails, decor and, of course, the food are, well, exquisite!
Absolutely a wonderful experience!!! We felt as if we were in a New York City dinner club. From the total ambiance to the talented creations of Cher Daniel LeBoon, the wine list, the mixologist, I could go on and on!! Who could ask for more!!!?
Our server was wonderful! Best server we’ve had while out to dinner in over a year! Everyone was welcoming and the food was excellent! Thank you for making our birthday celebration special.
Amazing as always
Amazing all around experience!!!
We dined for my birthday. Josephines called me in the afternoon to ask who the birthday person was. I had never experienced this. When we arrived, the maitre d' wished me a happy Birthday, and the menu revealed a personalized card.
Everyone wished me a 2nd Happy Birthday when we were leaving.
Service was impeccable and the cuisine was amazing. I had short ribs which was fork tender with a delectable cloudberry sauce. My husband had a seafood chowder which he raved about and a crab cake which was 100% crabmeat for his entree.
A wonderful experience in a beautifully decorated restaurant. We will happily return!
We absolutely love dining at Josephines. Food wine ambiance service…all 5 star
Josephines is a fantastic Five Star Restaurant.
Services is fantastic. Food is above expectation. I had a good "stiff" Scotch. The kind a "man enjoys."
First time, great experience. Nice food. We'll be back soon.
If I have to say something, I will say the "gougere" is much better a little warm that cold. This is the way we ate them in France.
Nice place for a meal. Chef uses too much salt for my taste.
Our server Hunter was excellent. We were celebrating my son and daughter-in-law's fifth wedding anniversary. When we opened our menus there was a note included wishing them specifically by name a happy anniversary. We had a lovely evening. The only negative was, for two of us our meals were only warm, not hot. By the time my mother finished her crabcake it was no more than room temperature. Not wanting to mar the occasion we did not mention anything, perhaps we should have. Otherwise we enjoyed ourselves.
Jillian was a wonderful server. As good as the piano and base were, sitting up with Rita Hayworth was a bit loud for conversation though it was perfect volume in other parts. Would’ve liked to have cordials at bar after dinner but it was full. Bummer. Went to C’est la vie and that bar was full. Bummer Bummer.
Very chic NY atmosphere, Hollywood pics are magnificent.
Pricey meal but really good. Excellent service. We'll definitely go back.
Chef Daniel LeBoon has done it again with his culinary prowess and food mastery implementing his Kitchen staff as a new Tour de Force in Lancaster. Our friends from the Philly region loved every minute of the dining experience and especially enjoyed the appetizers(Foie Gras-Oysters) and our mains (Japanese Pork Belly-Vegetarian Risotto). The bread(Amuse Bouche-Mini Cheese Croissant/Three styles of dinner bread) and dessert collection(Vanilla Bean Crème Brulee-Praline Chocolate Rocher) was magnificent from Chef Renaud. The plates were not only gorgeous to look at but the composition and textures were ultimately in the culinary stratosphere of perfection. Not only will we be going back soon, but we cant wait to take other friend to this new CULINARY CAPITAL of Lancaster .
Food was great, service was fabulous.
Could not have asked for better service and food was outstanding, will be back
We throughly enjoyed our dining experience from start to finish! The hostess was warm and accommodating. Our waitress was attentive, but not intrusive. We loved our entrees. And the piano was a wonderful touch! And we met the chef as well. If you want a fine dining experience in Lancaster- this is the place to go!!
This was our first visit. Service was good. Server explained the specials. Entrees were filet, scallops, halibut and duck breast. Excellent quality and taste. Portions were small to medium but the dishes except the scallops could have had a side vegetable. Also, although minor, the duck breast was not sliced as it normally is in upscale restaurants. Desserts enjoyed was decadent chocolate and crème brûlée. Excellent. The two specials presented short ribs and a crab cake, we had to ask the price. They were priced significantly higher then the entrees that we enjoyed. We will probably try again.
The food was excellent, as we the service. I prefer my fine dining to be in a less stuffy/stiff feeling environment, but that's just a personal preference.
A fabulous dining experience! amazing food, fantastic service and
the nicest, most talented chef! An overall delight and not to be missed as this is a
gem of a restaurant!
