The story of Josephine’s begins during our executive chef Daniel LeBoon’s childhood. At eight years old, working for his father’s catering company, Daniel discovered a passion for food. This love — and undeniable talent — saw him intern at Philadelphia’s prestigious Le Bec-Fin. He went on to work in Paris at the venerable Hotel Vernet working under the renowned chef’s Alain Solvere and Alain Ducasse. In 2004, Daniel purchased Josephine’s in Marietta and developed an extremely loyal following based on the combination of great food, great atmosphere and great hospitality. Although Josephine’s closed in 2011, the name and the experiences are fondly remembered by countless people.
chevre and herb polenta, pickled grapes, baby radishes

braised escargot, golden raisins, carrot spheres
Outstanding meal. Lamb loin was delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant. The only issue with our experience was a very loud group seated next to our table.
Great service! Perfect food! Superb experience
Great food, awesome service! Loved the jazz band!
fantastic food in beautiful dining room. Excellent service
We had an amazing dinner at Josephine's on Friday nite. We were a party of 3 and were seated near the piano. The musicians played soft melodies that enhanced our experience. The vintage atmosphere in the dining room is nostalgic. But the main attraction is definetly the food. Everything tasted great. We will definitely dine here again!
My wife and I had an AMAZING experience. Our server, Zach, was kind, attentive, and helpful. We were so impressed. I got the crab cake special and it was terrific and my wife got her first filet mignon and she loved it. We couldn’t be happier with our dining experience.
This was a special occasion meal for my wife's birthday.
The restaurant interior is beautiful and very well done. A piano musician provided the music for the evening. As much as we enjoy live music, the piano was positioned a bit too close to us, requiring us to raise our voices a bit to hold conversation.
The service was great. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, wasn't pushy towards recommendations, and did a good job giving recommendations based off of our inquiries. He also did a great job keeping our wine glasses full during our meal. We truly did not have to lift a finger while we ate.
The food was great. We had the Antelope appetizer and both had the Halibut as our entrées. Various fresh baked breads were also provided before our ordered food had arrived.
The drinks were alright. We may not be foodies, but we are knowledgeable on spirits and weren't overly impressed with the Hollywood themed cocktails. The wine list was extensive and would imagine most could find a glass/bottle of something they like.
Overall our experience was great. We won't be adding Josephine's to our list of regular spots because of the cost, but we are grateful for the experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a friend.
Best Restaurant in Lancaster, our go to for all occasions!
Food was excellent, as was the service! Downside: I think this restaurant might have the distinction of being the most expensive place in Lancaster!
Just a wonderful experience from walking in the door to saying goodbye. No detail was missed in service or food. The host was friendly, and I overheard him going above and beyond to find a drink from an old menu for someone at a neighboring table. Our server was knowledgeable, and made suggestions and everything was fantastic. There are different seating areas that each have their own atmosphere. It was a wonderful birthday meal.
We were seated in the wine room which is quiet with lovely ambience. We are always pleased to have Robert as our server, he is pleasant, attentive, and knowledgeable about the food and gave great suggestions for wine pairing. Our meals were not only delicious but the presentation was beautiful. We were celebrating a birthday and the guest of honor was delighted to find a nice surprise or two courtesy of Josephine's. Overall our experience at Josephine's was a10+.
Everything about Josephine's was amazing. From the second you walk in they go above and beyond. The serving staff was attentive and on top of everything. The food was amazing, and words can't describe how good everything was from the starters to dessert. My wife and I will be making Josephine's a regular occurrence.
The staff were very knowledgable and attentive. Enjoyed our interaction. The food was very good. My wife enjoyed the risotto and I loved the stuffed cabbage. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent food and service
I love this place! The food was excellent and the services was amazing. It's nice to find a quiet and classy place in Lancaster! I'll definitely be back.
We had a delightful dinner at Josephine‘s last night. Everything was extremely good the service was above normal. The ambience was superb. The new owners have taken a tired restaurant and turned it into something very special. If you want to have a beautiful dining experience with white tablecloth‘s and a little bit of a 50s nightclub throwback and outstanding food look no further. I was a bit stunned when the bill came. We had all ordered specials and of course no pricing was given. So be aware that the specials seem to be priced at a very high level, although they were all winners and I had what was probably the best veal chop in my life.
It has been several years since we have enjoyed such a comfortable formal atmosphere. We thought find dining was gone.
The service was fantastic. The servers were engaged and sincere. The food was well presented and quality superior. The only suggestion is to add a chicken and fresh fish to the options.
Beautiful place with great (and I mean great) service. Food is good. Drinks were great. Try the Frank Sanatra! Superior wine list. But a little pricy
Fabulous! The decor, the service, the dinner and the dessert - could not have been any better. Bernie went above and beyond. What an amazing evening. Can’t say enough about Josephine’s!
Wonderful experience. Beautiful restaurant with the best crab cake I have ever had. Highly recommend! We will be back for more.
This dining experience was amazing! The food was simply delicious. I was a little worried we wouldn’t be given enough when it came to portions, but we left incredibly fulfilled! I went for my birthday and they had a few nice little touches to make the evening incredibly special! The owner stopped by and said hi. The service was great. It’ll be a place we go again for a special evening.
Food and service were both superb. Ambience really set the mood for an excellent dinner. Highly recommend
A complete experience, elegant in every way. If you want to be pampered and know that every detail has been thought about then don’t hesitate to book a table.
Staff and service was impeccable. Every morsel was to die for. The restaurant is gorgeous. Already planning our next visit.
We arrived on NYE for our anniversary and were not disappointed. The hostess accomodated our early arrival with grace and enthusiasm, providing coat and hat check and guidance for and to the bar. The barmaid was excellent both in mixing and friendliness. The menu was a mix of both the usual and the unusual, and we chose some of each, all of which were well-prepared and delicious. The wine list was good, with pricing at every level to accomodate every budget. The well-known chef dropped by to talk, which was a treat. Overall, I found the staff to be well-trained and well-chosen, the menu to be varied and tasty, the drink and wine lists above average and the pricing fair. Strongly recommended.
Hunter was fabulous!
One of the most amazing dining experience we have ever had. There are not enough words to describe how wonderful everything was. Thank you for one of the most memorable dinners we have ever had!
New Year’s Eve
Hostess was very nice. She accommodated us even we arrived much earlier than our reservation.
Food was delicious in attractive presentation. Only 1 dish is a bit too salty. Waiting staff were attentive.
We’ll definitely go back again when we visit Lancaster.
The ambience and service was very nice. The food was good, but overpriced. No single crab cake is worth $56 ala-carte in my opinion.
Excellent service. Sea bass and antelope appetizers were amazing. Entrees we’re delicious and fulfilling. Pricey, but worth it. Would highly recommend, especially for a special occasion. Also, love stopping in at the bar for a drink and an app.
My wife and I had a great experience during our first visit to Josephine's. On at least two occasions, the Chef spoke with us. We will be returning.
Everything was Exquisite and delish! It was an experience to remember for a lifetime! ,
My wife and I both work retail, and wanted to go out to eat after closing on Christmas Eve. Josephine's was decorated splendidly and the staff were warm and welcoming. The food was delicious and served at a good pace. Need to go back and try other menu items.
We wanted to do something special for Christmas Eve and a spectacular perfect 10 dinner was what we got! The live piano music was an incredible added bonus! This is our new favorite restaurant. Love the theme and photos from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for an incredible experience!
Christmas Eve. It was fabulous!
What a great experience - food, wine, service, ambiance, and overall experience were great. Not only that, but there’s a really fun & friendly vibe which is sometimes hard to find in such a great restaurant.
This was our first time at Josephine’s, but we will definitely be back again soon and often!
Perfect! Excellent food and service
Wonderful food and experience. One of the best fine dining restaurants in Lancaster.
Absolutely outstanding !!! We are NEVER disappointed.
Each dish is perfection. Staff is an absolute delight. Everything about the experience is stellar.
