Chicken Pomerado DRY, Ossa Buka Dry, Spinich salad good, All dishes served to our party of 6 were either overcooked or dry for another reason. To bad. atmosphere good, Waitress very good. Service excellent. Food not so good.
The Korean BBQ beef appetizer - fantastically delicious and larger than I would have thought - for me - could have been a meal. It is one of those selections that will make it hard to go back and move away from ordering that each time! My husband had the filet and I had the salmon - each was a bit overcooked - the tasty nonetheless! We did indulge in desert and shared the donut holes - yes, also two thumbs up! We will be happily returning! :)

Went for Father's Day Brunch which was served as a buffet. Food Selection was very good and delicious. Can't wait to go back and try the regular menu Brunch.
The food is very good at lunch. The salads are exceptional. One of us had a hamburger that looked good as well. It is a nice place for a ladies' lunch.
While visiting friends in Flagstaff we wanted to treat our hosts to a nice dinner. I made the reservation on Open Table and also phoned the restaurant to confirm our reservation for eight. I did receive a return phone call from the restaurant confirming the reservation, but when we arrived we waited for the table to be prepared.
We wished to order the Chateau Neuf de Pape wine on the wine list, but they did not have it.
Five of us ordered the sea bass special at a cost of $35.00 each. The fish was overcooked on each. Others in the party ordered the filet, medallions and chicken which were good.
Overall we were disappointed in the food for the price.
Their food is fantastic and service is always wonderful. Would total recommend!
My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate his birthday, which I noted in the "special notes" section in my Open Table reservation. However, it went unacknowledged as if it were just another dinner out. Not a "happy birthday," not a special card, nor a candle in the dessert. Other places have done small gestures as this, but not Josephine's. I was disappointed.
Besides the event being ignored, the little room we were in (only 3 tables) was chilly and loud. My boyfriend's filet mignon dinner was wonderful, my chicken dish was merely okay. The chicken was on the dry side, the beets seemed over-roasted and the butternut squash risotto seemed overdone. Thank goodness the creme brulee (my boyfriend's favorite dessert) was a hit.
The server seemed nice and knew the menu well.
We both selected the 3-course tasting menu, but were told not to select our dessert course until after dinner (the tasting menu included two uninspired desserts). The food we had was both interesting and tasty. Once we finished the first two courses we were presented with an expanded dessert menu that didn't include either of the desserts we'd seen on the tasting menu. The waiter made some recommendations and we made our choices. When the bill arrived we found that we were billed the full amount for the desserts, as well as the full amount for what turned out to be a 2-course tasting menu... not quite the value it initially appeared to be! In our opinion the waiter should have been clear about the desserts instead of doing a bait and switch.
Hello, over all I was dissapointed. I had written a note in the reservation that it was my girlfriends 21st birthday. The note was overlooked and nothing about it being her birthday was addressed. The noise level was high. Other than that we enjoyed the experience.
Great food, service, and prices! Our party of 6 was very well taken care of. Definitely recommend if you are passing through Flagstaff!
What a delightful dinner - we are still talking about it two weeks later. The server was attentive and knowledgeable, the food was amazing and fairly priced. Would go back without hesitation.
This is one of the 4star restaurant in flagstaff. Went here for brunch. Nice variety on the menu. Great service. Sometimes the table are very close together depends there you seat.
One of the best steaks I've ever had. The filet mignon was very delicious. Whatever the sauce that was on it, was to die for! Two thumbs up! I'll be back just to have it again!

This was our first experience at Josephine's and we were VERY impressed. Bart, our waiter, was wonderful. Our table tried the salmon, the chicken, and the filet mignon. All cooked perfectly and flavors were spot on. We had a 5 year old with us and he was delighted that they served Kraft mac & cheese! It was my husband's birthday and we were placed in a small dining room with 3 tables. When they brought dessert out for my husband I began to sing happy birthday and the other tables joined. Came to find out that the table next to us was the mayor of Flagstaff and his party. My husband can now say the Mayor sang to him on his birthday!
My girlfriend and I decided last minute to go out to eat, and decided to give Josephine's a try. I wanted to go somewhere I could wear my fleece pants and hoodie since it was cold outside, and although I did feel a little under-dressed when I got there, the wait staff still seated us and treated us wonderfully. I had a Caesar Salad and Bacon Wrapped Filet, and the waiter recommended a Spanish Red Wine that perfectly complemented the meal. My girlfriend had the baked brie and the champagne vinaigrette salad with a glass of the hibiscus bellini which was "insanely delicious" she says. For dessert we had the Italian Donuts, I cannot remember what they were called but they were like dressed-up beignets and delicious. I definitely plan on coming here again, this will be one of our special date-night places!
Being part-time residence of Flagstaff, we have frequented Josephine many occasions. But it has been spiraling down the last few times we have been there.Service was dreadful; the server never poured our wine after opening it, even though there were two other tables occupied at the time. And the food was lousy, limp, overlooked vegetables and the NY strip steak was fatty and sinewy despite its inflated price. Once the server brought us our dessert the entire staff turned off lights in the kitchen and adjoining dining rooms. Like "Get out...We want to go home!" It was only 8:30pm.
I have been driving past Josephines for years and not really noticed it, and then I saw it on Open Table, stopped with my family, had a meal and loved it. Had another meal with my family there again, and loved that too. Great services and great food. Nice decor too. Its a very convenient location on the way to the Grand Canyon and Arizona Snowbowl. When leaving these areas we booked on Open Table and arrived to find our table waiting. A very high standard of food was a pleasant surprise, considering its easy access within Flagstaff.

We found Josephine's searching from our hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the food and wine when we arrived. Presentations were good, and the food was fresh and made from quality ingredients. Dishes were imaginative, and had interesting twists on standard fare. We had the lamb meatloaf, crab cakes, quinoa tamale, and "Osso Bucco" pork shank. Everything was very good, and tasted fine. Service was good for such a casual setting. Our server was attentive, but not intrusive. Wine list was surprisingly good. There were solid selections from France, Italy, and Spain as well as domestic producers. A good choice for casual dining with great food and wine.
My husband and I have been going here for over a year now and save this place for our special occasions but have also popped in for a quick dinner as well. The restaurant is quaint, cozy and the food and service are exemplary. The restaurant is very clean, the staff are impeccably dressed and the food is always presented in a delightful manner. The staff always remember us and make us feel important.

Last minute change in our travel plans brought us to Flagstaff for New Year's. We were lucky to be able to get a reservation at Josephine's. The meal, service and ambience was exceptional. It was a fixed menu but enough selection to please our palates. Filet Mignon was delicious (perfectly cooked) and the chocolate mousse dessert was yummy. Lobster appetizer was a little small but other portions were perfect.
I would recommend this restaurant and only wish we did not have the experience of a noisy small child at the next table during our dinner.

This my wife's and my 4th anniversary dinner and we could not have picked a better place! Amazing food, service, and ambiance! The timing of the food service was on par with the finest of dining standards, though the price of the ticket was surprisingly low! No rush even hinted at, the night revolved around us! We could not have been happier, and will be back again and again!
Spending our first Thanksgiving in Flagstaff, we decided to nix the 3 days of cooking for 2 and tried Josephine's. The restaurant came highly recommended by local friends and is one of the few on Yelp with a large number of very positive reviews (this is key as Yelp reviews in Flagstaff tend to only highlight negative experiences, if present at all).
We were surprised that a menu option was not available, but this was honestly one of the best buffets in over 20 years of dining out as a couple. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. While it was quite warm with lots of chatter inside, the decor fit the holiday and pleasantly surprised with adult alternative music. The restaurant is a repurposed 'cottage' home with outside seating - which we should have asked for given the 60+ degree afternoon. The buffet line was constantly busy, but staff kept an eye on the food with new trays being replaced frequently.
The food choices were plenty for Thanksgiving and delicious! They made a great first impression on this couple, having lived in a food Mecca (Chicago) for the last 9 years. Strongly recommended!
None of the food I had was hot, it was warm at best. While tasty, I didn't care for the white and dark meat of turkey being mixed and served together in the dressing. Too much buffet table space was used for large salads. The desert area should have had almost constant attention; serving tools used to serve a variety of deserts with the tools becoming gummed up with bits of each of the deserts. I felt that $95 ($83 for the meal) for 2 people to have dinner (ice tea/coffee to drink, no alcohol) was a high price to pay for the rather small buffet.
Attention by the wait staff was very good. The atmosphere was nice, one of a warm "homey" feeling. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time and were seated almost immediately.
A charming staff and a wonderful selection of dishes to tempt anyone -- turkey with all the trimmings, plus baked ham and roast beef. Many desserts to choose from. Hard to believe that they served more than 500 guests on Thanksgiving day. The atmosphere was warm and intimate. A great place in every way!
We went for their Thanksgiving Buffet and was pleasantly surprised how organized and amazing everything was. There was a huge variety of entree items and everything was delicious. It was honestly the best buffet we have ever had. We would defintely go back there again for any meal.

Having Thanksgiving brunch at a restaurant is something we had never done, however we definitely picked a winner at Josephine's. Obviously the place was packed for this holiday feast, but we didn't feel rushed or crowded. Service was great and offering a wine not normally on their list which turned out to be wonderful. The wine list was a big plus though by itself.
The buffet was absolutely complete to satisfy every taste, and if you left the restaurant hungary it was your own fault! At least five or six main courses to choose from with many additional side dishes and ditto for the desert buffet.
Always great food, drinks and a very accomodating staff.

I have always heard about how great Josephine's was for the food, the atmosphere and service. My visit did not disappoint. Bart,our server, was awesome, friendly profession and knowledgeable about how the food was prepared and their ingredients. The house is just amazing with is old school charm with a wonderful vibe. We got to sit next to the fireplace, a often requested location. The food was amazing. we had the appetizer of Baklava Baked Brie, the main entrees were the Rosemary chicken and the Tenderloin medallions. Again consistently wonderful tasting, presentation was very nice and good size portions.
We forced dessert (not really!!) It was a Apple cranberry with home-made cinnamon ice cream.
Every bite of this entire meal was wonderful. I highly suggest Josephine's for a meal you will enjoy and never forget!
This was our second time having dinner at Josephines and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. The food is wonderful and the menu eclectic enough for all everyone. My only neg comment are the servers - they tend to be rushed and disengaged with the customers. Also the soda gun was not working the night we were there and no attempt was made to run to the store and get tonic, club soda and the like. When I ran a restaurant, I would have done that for my customers. An easy fix I think.
We generally enjoyed our dining experience although some of the cuisine did not meet our expectations for fine dining. The ambinence was average - in an old home - needs some "buffing up". Most of the dishes were very good, although we were divided on the smoked chicken. One of the vegetable sides on our plates was roasted beets, but they were overlooked & tough - looked overheated and shriveled. The queso fondido as an appetizer was delicious, as were the zeppoles for dessert. The house salads were very fresh, and well dressed. Our server was gracious, friendly and polite, and service was prompt. All in all it was a favorable dining experience in a mountain, college town without many fine dining options.

Wok seared salmon with cranberry citrus glaze was excellent. Service was a little slow. Took a while for a waiter. Seemed everyone else was receiving food and drinks before us.
The restaurant is small but yet very personable and quaint. The aroma of food coming from kitchen was amazing! They have a very diverse wine list and the food on the menu was sure to satisfy everyone's palate. The service can be slow at times... specifically with beverages from the bar, but we had a great experience overall.
