Best steak in Austin Texas. We went for a special event and really enjoyed our time there.
Best waitress! I have her regularly and am beyond pleased each time. Wonderful staff!
Can't wait to come back! We love Josephine House. I highly recommend the avocado toast for brunch.
Food great, service subpart lady was some what friendly.
Great atmosphere. Beautiful outdoor seating. Excellent menu.
We sat outside. Was a great meal but when I say flies I do not mean a few flies. They got super annoying and this was the only thing that detracted from a great evening. The pots on the table are not effective at all.
Consistently excellent food and service, almost always in demand, but they always find room.
The lemon ricotta pancakes are my fav pancakes in atx!
Kyle was a great server! Mondays are always a favorite day of ours there!
Lovely outdoor seating with a fan to keep it comfortable on a hot summer night. Food, drinks, service, excellent! Equally great for date or fun night with a group!
Pastries were great! I would definitely recommend the KOUIGN ANANN, cocktails are all very delicious very refreshing for summer and sweet! The presentation is beautiful the interior design is beautifully displayed . I would highly recommend sitting outside , inside is very small, crowded and not a very good feel. Our waitress was wonderful! Very helpful and nice . The hostess was very pushy and very rude with our reservation, but overall the experience was very good!
Brunch with friends. Food was great. Atmosphere was charming. We wanted to stay all day.
Such a cute place but very noisy just from voices. Seems like there should be some kind of noise control on ceiling. The service and food were outstanding, though a little pricey for lunch.
The options fore lunch were very limited. The salad I had was boring, small and expensive.
Such a cute brunch spot, all the food we tried was delicious
Overall, the entire group was disappointed. This is one of our favorite places to dine and this time around the service was not just bad... it was terrible. When I called to update my reservation a week ahead of time I was told this was completely fine, but when we arrived, we found out the update was never made. We were also told that it was inconvenient that we had shown up with one more person than the reservation stated which wasn't our fault since we had already tried to update that 1 week before. Also, because we had menus on the table and were trying to be considerate and move our water glasses to not leave rings on the menus. Instead of being understanding of that, the person serving our water (whom I believe may have been the general manager or assistant) said "if you move your waters I wont know whose is whose, you know your water glass is supposed to be to the right of you." I replied back, "yes I am aware of that thank you, we were actually trying to be considerate of your menus, next time we won't care." There is a much better way to communicate with your guests without coming off so rude. Some staff training is suggested. Thank you for your time.
The atmosphere was beautiful, quiet and serene - perfect for date night! The food was excellent but smaller portions so I would take advantage of the small plates/starters if you're really hungry. The cocktails were also amazing and our waiter knew the menu in and out and made fantastic recommendations.
If you're looking for an instagram brunch, this spot's for you. Super cute ambiance. Service was friendly, but slow. Food was good, but pricey.
Josephine House was amazing on all levels. I ordered the Belgian waffle and my friend ordered the avocado toast. Though a bit on the pricier end for brunch, it was delicious. Gorgeous atmosphere, the thing of instagram photos. Only thing that could be better is if they served more mimosas. Everything was amazing.
Slow, confused, unapproachable staff
Was really looking forward to trying this place out for my wife’s birthday. It’s a one and done for us unless they get a handle on the flies and bar flies. Such a small place and you shouldn’t have to swat flies while eating. Also the kitchen vents obviously don’t work as good as they should, as we both left smelling like we ate in the kitchen.
Steak Frites night can’t be beat!
Fun place for the ambiance, we sat outside, definitely too close to next table, could hear everything they said, but still fun. Brunch menu is interesting, some unique items. The avocado toast was delicious. The other food interesting but not to die for
We would go back for lunch or dinner menu.
Loved eating at this cozy converted house. Would definitely recommend. Next time I want to eat outside if the weather is nice!
This is a nice neighborhood spot, with solid food. Happy hour prices outstanding, but would be expensive otherwise. The cheese plate was less than impressive, but otherwise really enjoyed the food. Nice outdoor sitting area in Clarksville.
My daughter and I sat at our new favorite table outside for an impromptu get away. It was a beautiful evening with a nice breeze on the front porch. The food and service was fabulous as always. This has been our favorite spot since you opened, and now we have a new favorite spot within our favorite spot! Thanks JoHo....as my daughter fondly calls you!
The pork chop is the best I have ever had! I wanted to go back the next day and get it again. Also love the outdoor patio area.
Once it cools off I’ll go back. Outside at 95 degrees was too much. There are fans and misters on TWO tables the rest are on their own. The food was excellent, the waitstaff capable and friendly!
Amazing! Cute little house. Delicious food. I am Gluten Free and even though I only had a few options to choose from (no GF breads at all) my dish was out of this world delicious and packed with flavor.
Love this place! Their lemon ricotta pancakes are the best in town!
Even with a reservation we waited over 40 min. While I understand this is not the fault of the restaurant, the servers did nothing to offset our wait. Our service was lack luster once we were seated. The restaurant is extremely cute and the outdoor seating is very charming.
We were seated outdoors on a very hot evening. If that was an obvious part of the reservation, I didn't realize it and would have reconsidered if I had known. Tucked inside an alcove with a small corner fan pointed way over our heads, there wasn't much air movement.
The food was good, but not great. A nice salad to share and some prociutto with olives (the special ham we ordered was somehow spoiled and unavailable) preceded the pork chop(s) and yellowfin. The pork chops were the better choice. My tuna was quite a thin steak, and to keep it barely pink in the center, there was no sear marks whatsoever - just a uniform unappetizing gray color over the surface. Dessert - the strawberry pavlova - featured a very chewy, not crisp, meringue. Not inspired. The best part of the meal was probably the cranberry bread.
Service was slow. Flies were thick. A neighboring table in our little alcove played loud videos on their phones.
Not a great intro to a new-to-us restaurant. I love their next-door sister, Jeffrey's, and I'd splurge there before coming back here.
Excellent ambience and food. Only downside is that they sat an extremely loud group next to us inside so it became near impossible to hear my date. The main house is very small so noise does not absorb at all. And our server was very slow, but we’ll be back for the food and decor vibe. Hopefully with less bachelorette parties sat indoors, anyway :)
Indoor table for 2 with reasonable space and quiet for conversation. This place is outstanding for price, quality of food, and ambiance. Guys and gals equally enjoy.
Love Josephine House!
Scrumptious food and lovely atmosphere inside and out!
The service, food and drinks are always top notch. Another excellent Josephine date in the books!
Food and atmosphere were good. It’s too bad the service was horrible - we won’t be going back.
We came for brunch on a Saturday while visiting Austin, on the recommendation of a friend. The restaurant was located in an adorable house. We sat inside due to weather but they had a pretty patio as well. Service good and food was just wonderful. I would highly recommend Josephine House!
Casual atmosphere with terrific food and service. We were inside, so there was a bit more conversation around us, but not loud. Pleasant and, as usual, worth going to.
