Hi there and thank you so much! The experience wouldn't be the same without our many fabulous guests as yourself!!
We had a great time here for our bachelorette party! The bride to be got a free drink and then they provided shots for the entire group, it was so nice and made us feel very special! The staff was exceptionally friendly and so nice, we loved joking with them. The food was great 10/10 recommend the scallops!
Thank you so much for the kind words! Who doesn't love a great bachelorette party? We wish the Bride-to-be an ocean of happiness!!
Brunch in NOLA was amazing!!! Food and drinks were top notch especially eggs and pastries, wow! Worth the wait! Glad we chose to have brunch at Josephine Estelle, thanks!!⚜️
Thank you Eclecticdiner1! The pastries are my morning mantra for sure :)
Beautiful restaurant and very good Italian food. We had a lovely and attentive server.
Hi jimbored, We LOVE the love <3 Can restaurants blush?
The level of incompetence from a disinterested and disappearing waiter to running out of basic brunch necessities made this an unforgettable experience. Unforgettably bad. They should not have been open if that’s their best effort. Choose somewhere else in Nola for brunch.
New Years Brunch
Hi Kimmy, Oh no, so sorry to see that your experience with us was not as expected. We would love to hear details of your stay so that we may address the issues you had. You can reply back to us at email@example.com o m Thanks
It our tradition to come to NOLA multiple times a year and always on New Years Eve! Josephine Estelle is the only place we consider going to for dinner NYE! Best food. Best staff. Best everything!! Love this place!
Thank you for always being spot on!!!
Hello there, We are so happy to hear that!! :D Honestly, NYE dinner wouldn't be as fun without you either. Seriously. Your friends at Josephine Estelle
Absolutely wonderful dinner! Great service, delicious food, beautiful setting. We will be back!
Woweeee! What a beautiful compliment... Thank you so much and hopefully we will see you soon ;)
Our experience was not great! When we entered there was a strong sewage smell. The host was not a welcoming person. Nor very accommodating to our table request.
Our server was very friendly and helpful, not her fault my boyfriend received the wrong entree. She corrected this immediately.
Other notes, Prosecco served in wine glass?
Overall the food was good!
The restaurant needs a little more practice..
Ciao Ducktom, We are so sorry about the odor and the negative staff experience. Thanks to all our amazing guests, such as yourself, we are already actively working on our faults that you had experienced. Hopefully we can welcome you in the near future with just the perfect spot in Josephine Estelle for the extra special night out! Cheers!
A quick, delicious bite before the Saints game. My husband and I each ordered the meatballs and split a delicious green salad. The cute waitress got us our food quickly so we could leave on time for the game. So much better than overpriced pizza or hot dog at the Dome!
Hello prytaniat, We love to hear the great compliments and believe you me - I am eating our meatballs before each Saints game from now on too. (Can we please also add the JE Fried Chicken to it? - sooooo good) Thanks so much and see you soon!!
We know that staffing is an issue, however three people in our party never received their main course. We had to cancel those orders due to the fact that we had plans after dinner.
Thankfully, this was not our first visit. We will come back.
Hi wareagleaa, We are so sorry about that. Hopefully we can go back to 'wowing' you again on your next visit as things fall back to normal in the City. Cheers!
I can't report anything about the food or atmosphere because we arrived for a 7:45 dinner reservation for 7 people to find that the restaurant was closed. The hotel receptionist (the restaurant is in a hotel) said they closed due to being short-staffed. That may have been beyond control, but they didn't call and tell me. In fact, I called that afternoon and confirmed the reservation, as requested. By 8 PM there was no place else for 7 people to eat. Plus we spent about $100 to uber 7 people there from the ByWater to turn around and go back. I have left several messages at the restaurant explaining my complaint but nobody has returned my call.
We were a group of five celebrating the holidays! We absolutely loved Josephine Estelle. A few ordered the shrimp and grits which they loved. I had the friend oyster Rockefeller Benedict. So yummy. We shared a variety of desserts and they were all delicious! Kudos to the pastry chef! Service was good! Ambiance was perfect!
Hi annb71157, We LOVE you too! (I think our Pastry Chef might be Wonder Woman)
Service was great but food was mediocre
Worst food in New Orleans. We eat out several times a week and have never had such a bad meal in New Orleans. The only seasoning was SALT and lots of it. We had the Christmas set-menu and the timing was all off. The main entree (gulf fish) was oily. The salad tasted like salt, the fish tasted like salt, the cold cauliflower tasted like salt. The beet salad had been plated hours before and was clearly pulled out the fridge.
We could see the kitchen from our table so we watched them eat, chat, and drink while we waited for our food. No one in the kitchen wore masks and the waitstaff kept running back and forth to see if the food was ready.
Our waitress was perfect and tried her best.
Food was great, atmosphere was perfect. Service was very slow. Waited maybe fifteen minutes for a server. Was passed up multiple times by servers until a gentleman saw us waiting and got us water and looked for our server. Once she showed up she was friendly enough but very much a ghost during the entire experience. That being said, my date still had a great time. She loved the cocktails, food, and ambiance and we’ll probably be back again. Hopefully the service will be better though.
Waited around 30 minutes for breakfast that came out cold. Server literally dropped the food on the table and walked away before asking if we needed anything. My husbands toast came out burned completely black on one side. The atmosphere was beautiful though.
I love Josephine so much! My boyfriend and I came for date night to celebrate a recent accomplishment. I couldn't stop talking about the bucatini and how it is my fav bowl of pasta in all of New Orleans. Unfortunately, it was way too overcooked. the pasta was mushy. I didn't want to complain/make it awkward, so I still ate it but it wasn't the usual perfection that comes out of the Josephine kitchen. The pickled shrimp was incredible though, and the dirty martinis were super tasty. I didn't quite fulfill my amatriciana craving, but the atmosphere is beautiful and waitstaff/host are so nice.
Poor service, no knowledge of menu, rarely returned to table. Kitchen served salmon when three people at the table ordered the gulf fish at market price. Salmon doesn’t come from the gulf, but the kitchen assumed we wouldn’t know that I guess? Have come here for so many special occasions since the hotel opened years ago, but this will most likely be our last time. Very sad and disappointed.
All of the food we had was DELICIOUS! The Canestri (cacio e pepe) is why I picked this restaurant. Ever since having it in Italy in 2019, I have been trying to find a place that makes it the same. I finally found it! This was the real deal! WOW! From the Delicate Squash and Burrata appetizers, to the main course, everything was amazing! I wish I lived in New Orleans so I could come here in a regular basis.
Good italian food for sure.
The menu selections were minimal, the food was mediocre and the noise level was extreme. Great setting with lots of potential but too costly for a mediocre meal. The drinks however were great, kudos to the bar staff. In a party of 4 we only deviated in our selection of salad and desserts. (Desert was pretty good). Because of the lack of entree selections we all ordered a pasta shrimp dish but were all disappointed to find that we had to hunt for the shrimp and when found they had been cut in half. This was in all 4 entrees! This is absolutely not up to code for New Orleans. The rosemary bread was the highlight of our dinner. As the night went on the noise level became unbearable and we couldn’t hear each other speaking so we left. I hope this review helps to make some improvements bc this could be an awesome dinner spot but until that happens I will not be recommending or returning.
Came in late for dinner. Decided on $60 pre fix and portions were tiny ( like whatever was left at end of night) and not hot. Had to send soup back literally cold. Server only checked on us once, empty water glasses and when we asked where she went the bar tender rolled his eyes and walked away to find her without verbally saying anything to us. No energy. Not great food and zero service.
Pretty good experience overall. We both went with the 4 course prix-fixe: a carrot soup, a pasta course, rabbit and fish for the entrees and dessert. Soup was nice, the mushroom pasta was a little bland but not a miss (one of us did gluten free pasta which is appreciated). Entrees were both solid. The desserts (panna cotta and a tart) were passable but nothing to write home about. Cocktails weren’t our favorite but nice wine by the glass selection. Service however was pretty frosty - our waitress seemed really annoyed for us for no particular reason. Probably wouldnt come back but a perfectly nice meal
Thank you for the feedback SeanF, we are glad that overall you had a good experience. We are continuously working to improve our service.
Went for a dinner date, took two and a half hours from sit down until we got the check. 45 minute wait for the entree alone, restaurant was half full. Poor service
We are sorry to hear about your experience with us at Josephine Estelle. Fitting the right pace of service for your occasion is important to us. We will use this information to improve our service.
Very disappointing. The food was extremely underwhelming & arrived warm not hot. We were told that the sommelier was too busy to assist with our wine selection. Overheard the service staff arguing. It was our anniversary, which was denoted on our reservation & not so much as a mention of it.
Thank you for providing feedback on your recent visit with us. We will use this to improve our service going forward.
Delicious and fun!!! Fantastic ambiance!
Thanks for the feedback, happy that you enjoyed everything!
Waiter didn’t appear to know what he’s doing. Service very slow. Meat and cheese plate was very plain. Waiter brought me the wrong main course. He asked if I wanted to eat it anyway. When the real main course appeared, it was not very good. I was surprised. I always enjoyed myself there, but I don’t think I’ll return
Thank you for providing feedback on your recent visit with us. We will use this to improve our service going forward.
The food was good. But they brought out our meals at very different times so one couple was done eating before the second got their entree.
Great classic Italian with modern spin. Perfectly prepared pasta dishes. Beautiful room that can be loud, connected to a hipster hotel (the Ace). Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about food and wine. Support staff (food runners, hostesses, etc) were a little green but acceptable considering worker shortages. Very pleasant and satisfying dining experience.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback about your visit with us glitch! We are glad you enjoyed your self and hope to serve you again soon! Cheers!
