This was my first visit and a special lunch for my god daughter on her 21st. Food was great, service also top notch. My only slight critique was space, the table sufficient but a little small for five. Overall a great place, reasonably priced and in a great location.

Me and the wife went for a meal to the Joseph Benjamin, even though there's lots of competition in chester, we really liked the look of the menu and ambiance. It didn't disappoint, my ox cheeks with artichoke risotto and crispy shallots was devine. Will go back soon hopefully

Lovely meal, good value and friendly service. Only downside was the very noisy table next to us. We had full access to their complete conversation throughout dinner! Would be good to have a little more room between tables, or a front of house service which could reduce noise if needed.

Amazing food and wine. Service was great, very friendly and the atmosphere was very good too. Felt very intimate like you were in somebody’s living room surrounded by good art and cookbooks! Would recommend

This is a favourite place to eat, especially for breakfast. My only gripe recently was that I ordered a strip steak salad, the beef was rare and not what I would have chosen had I been asked. I prefer medium and it took the edge off a special occasion.

5 of us had a top meal here on a Saturday night - starters and mains were all excellent, slightly different and used exciting ingredients to create mouth watering blends - the skate wing with pickled girolles was particularly good, as was the duck egg starter. Wine good, if a little pricey. Service good
