Tasty and authentic cuisine from Spain. Impeccable service.
Overall Pluses: exciting, varied menu options, friendly staff
Minuses: service was spotty: before we were approached, server helped couple that arrived and was seated after us, and served them drinks and bread, all before server ever came to our table. Also, different servers repeatedly came to the table and interrupted conversation during our meal to ask how it was. Re the ambiance, tables were too close together for COVID times.
Food was good to very good, prices appropriate given quality. Wine list provided excellent options.
I have frequented Josalito's since it opened but not since the pandemic subsided. I can tell you they have actually UPPED THEIR GAME. Every single dish we selected was outstanding. I love this place and so lucky it's close to home and survived 2020!!
We had the tapas - being new and not speaking Spanish it would have been nice if the waiter would have explained it all a bit more. The food we ordered was delicious!
Party of 5. We shared everything.
Mushroom crepes amazing. Fisherman stew delicious.
Pork shoulder melts in your mouth.
Fun cocktails and good bottle of wine.
We’re planning on coming back!
We had a great time! We will be back!
Never disappoints. Wonderful food and service. Feels like a night out in Madrid
Food was delicious. Service was great. We will definitely come back again next time when we visit DC.
It's a wonderful restaurant. We've eaten there once a month for the last 42 months and never tire of Josxelito's delightful and often clever presentations.
This used to be a good neighborhood restaurant. I had just a bad dinner tonight. My tuna crudo was fine, but my husband's manchego was a bit tasteless. He liked his pork shoulder, but my main was honestly awful. I had the sea bass, which came in a tasteless corn starch sauce with burned broccoli on it. I sent it back and got a better tasting redfish dish but it wasn't cooked so I couldn't eat it. So disappointing.
Perfect brunch spot in a great location right around the corner from Eastern market. Our food and cocktails were both excellent, service was spot on, and they easily accommodated our dietary needs. We'll definitely go back.
Absolutely outstanding duck with mushroom risotto! We have been coming here for years and it keeps getting better every time
Spectacular in every aspect.
The cod croquettes were the best we ever had ... even better than in Spain.
The other dishes (Lamb, Sea Bass, Foie, Tuna Crudo) were also fantastic.
Not to be missed.
It is not traditional Spanish food though, but its cuisine is extraordinary .
Delicious food. Fabulous service and attention to our needs.
Adore Joselito. We go for every special occasion!!
We had a really excellent meal there. Will definitely be going back sometime soon.
Wonderful wine interesting and good food and v nice service
Food is always amazing and service staff are always so friendly.
Great food, great service helped us pick out a wine
It was good. I’m going to recommend the restaurant to friends.
Food was excellent, interior is cozy. Nice lunch spot.
Always great dishes and excellent wine list in nice, authentic atmosphere. Service was first-rate. Stand out dishes last night were cauliflower soup (special), lamb stew and pork shoulder (classic). Well done!
Delicious food once again. The fried cod fritters, David’s salad ( tomatoes, mangoes, avocado OMG) and warm veggies were solid. Fresh bread, spiced olive oil -yummy. Service was great, just love the diner atmosphere. It’s my favorite lunch spot at Eastern Market.
Good food. Good service. The menu is interesting and the dishes unusual. Most of the dishes can be ordered in one of three sizes - tapas, typical main course, or large enough for a family. Makes it very convenient to customize.
The first time I dined at Joselito was for Restaurant Week. I essentially ordered a couple things that I especially liked from that meal. However, I found that I actually enjoyed the new dish I tried even more (Presa Ibérica a la plancha con papas arrugadas). Between three of us we ordered about 9 tapas dishes (two of us ordered dessert), and left absolutely stuffed. Olga was a good and attentive server. Gracias, we enjoyed our time at Joselito!
This is a beautiful Spanish restaurant with outdoor seating. The service was excellent as was the sangria. The food was a little pricey. Spanish food can be a little plain in a delicious way but some of the tapas could use a little more flavor, I think. The cod fritters were very good as was the lamb stew (a daily special). The cauliflower soup (a daily special) was a little bland and the bread pudding was basically sweet toast with a scoop of ice cream.
Enjoyed Friday lunch outside! Thank you for bringing it back!
As always the experience is was and probably will be fantastic. We have been going there occasionally since the place opened. It is one of the few really good restaurants where you can have an intimate conversation without yelling.
Joselito's is true Spanish fine dining. Carefully prepared, unique dishes in 3 sizes. I loved the choices.
Delicious meal, we loved everything we ordered.
My brother and I want to be Joselito regulars! Our second visit together. Lived up to our high standards — especially for bro, who lived in Spain for years. As he would say, J’s compared to the best tapas offered there.
Just the best tapas I’ve ever had! Seriously, everything was SO good. I was blown away by everything I tasted.
By American standards, service may have been a little slow, but I had a wonderful time catching up with old friends.
We had such a lovely time celebrating my mom's birthday at Joselito. The service was attentive without being overbearing (particularly considering we were the only indoor diners). The food was outstanding and beautifully plated. I also appreciated the extra touch of a candle in the dessert (done w/out asking) for the special occasion. My partner and I are local and left saying to each other we should come back soon!
Great food. New bartender was slow. Otherwise, it was great. The mushroom crepe was awesome.
Best octopus AND bread pudding we’ve ever had! Everything was delicious and the service was stellar. Absolutely delightful.
Great ambiance, food, service. This place has not lost a beat because of Covid. First dinner out in one year was a great experience. We shall return.
Wonderful place for an anniversary with my girlfriend! Great value and great food especially during the Hemingway hour!
We had a wonderful dinner last night at Joselita. We sat outdoors under an umbrella as the evening gently cooled. It was an unusually quiet Saturday night in Eastern Mkt neighborhood, and with light traffic, the ambience outdoors was very pleasant. The meal -once again - spectacular. We started with gazpacho, which is an amazing blend of gardeny flavors, with a nice chill to transition from the hot summery day. Chicekn liver terrine (my partner’s favorite) was delicious, served with a berry preserve to add a sweet tanginess. Cod fish fritters were served piping hot, sweet and salty. The potato and tuna salad was perfectly okay but not as spectacular as the other dishes. Service was attentive but not pushy. We lingered for a while after to continue our conversation, as there were no customers waiting. It was a really pleasant evening.
This was the perfect last minute/casual date night. The service was excellent and the food was too. We especially enjoyed the cold tuna tapa, the cold scallops tapa and the mushroom crepe.
