Joselito's serves outstanding food! And the service is outstanding as well.
Fresh, innovative food, great staff recommendations for food and drinks, great service. We are everything tapas-sized. Everyone needs to try the crepe de setas salteadas (mushroom crepe) and the Presa Ibérica (pork shoulder)!
As always...wonderful. Had dinner on the patio, the food was delicious and the service the very best. Still my favorite restaurant!
Always good service and ambiance
Amazing food, wonderful service. A newly discovered gem!
Amazing place, the jamon, the manchego, the service, the wine. One of the best Spanish places in the city for sure!
Outstanding restaurant and hidden gem. Everything from service to food and attention to customer was amazing. As our first time, we tried a bit of everything and every plate was on target in terms of presentation and taste. For almost each item, you have the option of ordering as a tapa, main dish or family style. We had the gazpacho, scallops cocktail, caramelized foie gras (amazing), tortilla de patata (another must), wagyu a la plancha, buñuelos (yum) and not to be missed a generous portion of jamon sliced into small pieces. And to keep it all together, the best sangria I ever had anywhere (with fruits frozen into an ice cube that melts in the sangria). I strongly recommend to any foody. We ordered too much but it was worth every bite. Desserts are also wonderful. We had the flan but the rice pudding I hear is also great.
Outstanding food. Enjoyed the ability to get plates in three sizes: tapas, entree, family style. You could tell there was attention paid to each individual dish. Tuna crudo and pork shoulder were standouts.
truly authentic spanish food, great ambiance, great service... can't go wrong - excellent addition to our rotation of fav restaurants in DC
We love Joselito - it's the best place for a leisurely dinner on Capitol Hill and you feel like you're a world away in Spain!
As usual the food was great. We did however miss the pate, which was one of our ‘must haves’. The service was also fabulous. We can’t wait until the bar opens as we usually eat at the bar.
Wonderful food, cod cakes absolutely delicious! Very helpful wait staff and charming outdoor seating , potted palms and soft AstroTurf under your feet!
The experience was superb. Because we ate outside at sidewalk tables, the ambience was DC, not Joselito's beautiful interior. The attention, service, and food were superb.
We ate outside. My wife has a bad hip and the chair was uncomfortable for her. The restaurant actually went and got a better chair for her from another restaurant!! They are so lovely there. And the food is fantastic. Don't miss the seafood salad and the Chilean sea bass.
The food and service were both excellent!!! It was my first in-door dining experience in more than a year due to the pandemic and this was an outstanding meal. Thank you for a lovely evening!!! We'll be back!!!
It was wonderful to be back inside at Joselito. The food (gazpacho, wagu beef, tomato and mango salad, flan) and service were as good as remembered, and in some ways even better as we all come out of the pandemic and can enjoy indoor dining again.
It was perfect night for our first post-vaccinated outing. Food was fabulous and tapas allowed us to share and taste a great variety
The ambience was amazing and the service was great. The food was definitely on point as we enjoyed the wagyu beef, the Chilean sea bass , the mushroom crêpe, and the Cod fritters as tapas. I will say that the cod fritters was out of this world as once you but into it it was not cod but tasted more like a cod foam. It was mine boggling. I took off one star because the bread pudding was very hard and not on point but the flan was definitely worth the try as it was smooth and delicate and so delicious.
Oh and one honorable mention goes to the sparkling Sangreal which was so good that we ordered two pitchers😘 I wish they had patatas bravas but overall it was a enjoyable experience and exceptional food
The food was fantastic!!!!! We got the lamb shank and the seafood rice dish.....and we loved them both. Excellent wine too.
Nice quiet dinner with my parents. Everyone enjoyed the food and drinks. Mushroom crepe and duck were the highlights. Good service.
Really lovely experience here Saturday night. Food was delicious and service was impeccable. The bacalao and the Spanish fisherman's style rice were standout dishes. Highly recommend to anyone who likes Spanish food!
Always a fantastic experience.
Always sooo delish! Ambience, flavors makes us feel like we are in Espana!! Service (especially Karen ;) is beyond exceptional! We totally agree with Tom Sietsma that Joselito is a Treasure for us on The Hill!
Pre-pandemic had more menu choices. Nevertheless, there was enough variety for multiple tastes. The decor could be brightened up.
Brunch on Saturday was excellent, as we have come to expect!
In spite of the current restrictions the evening was great. We shared one appetizer and three small plates. Each was A+. At the conclusion of the meal we were comp'd a drink for our anniversary. The limited staff did not fail to provide outstanding food and service. Will return. Would rate the food as the best value on the Hill.
Always a terrific experience at Joselito Casa de Comidas!
Service was attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. Food was awesome- not a bad dish in the bunch. And the Sangria was delicious- with frozen fruit ice cubes. We will definitely return
Reduced menu during COVID and many items sold out (even for our 6pm dinner). Staff not friendly and was hard to hear over them dragging tables all over restaurant and consolidating our dirty dishes at our table. It was bizarre.
This place is a hidden gem with so much to offer. The food is simple yet delicious; the ambience is really terrific; the wait staff is warm and attentive; the value is very impressive. Great for both family and couples dining. Right in the awesome Eastern Market/Barracks Row neighborhood and across the street from a Blue/Orange Line Metro stop.
Enjoyed mother's day lunch. The food was worth the wait. Truly. We were quickly seated, and ordered sangria and tapas to start. The sangria was delightful, the food even better. The too long wait between our appetizers and main meal was a bit much. The quality and flavor of the meal made-up for it, as did their inclusion of a desert on the house. Not sure what caused the very long delay to get our main course, but the taste was worth the wait. Will be sure to return.
While the outdoor setting wasn’t ideal, the wonderful food and the excellent service more than made up for the lack of ambiance. The gazpacho was fresh and delicious. The Spanish rice with seafood was scrumptious. The lamb shank melted in your mouth. The service was attentive without being unctuous.
The experience far less than what I expected.
Amazing food! Left feeling great. Might have been the best sangria I ever had.
Everything that I have tried at this restaurant has been great!
Great tasting food and cocktails. Would definitely go back. Ambience suffers a bit because of the location (dined outside).
Loved the food, service, and location!! Our Marine is at 8th& I barracks. This restaurant is an easy walk, near Trader Joe’s. Our oldest son studied in Spain and loves good quality Spanish food. He recommended the restaurant to us. We all were very happy!! The sparkling sangria is Fantastic!!
Fantastic meal, excellent service. Never disappoints.
Wow! What a great place! The food was absolutely outstanding! We had the duck, the Bavette de Wagyu, the mushroom crepe and the tortilla, all in tapas size. We shared everything between people and the portions were great. Besides the great food, the service must be mentioned because our waitress was very knowledgeable and professional. The restaurant's decor reminded me of Spain. It's one of my favorite places in DC
We had seen them using tables in front of a nearby restaurant that closed due to Covid to provide quiet outdoor space. On this night, they were only using their own tables, which are on the sidewalk next to a busy street. So not as pleasant as we’d hoped, and we would have reserved indoor seating if we knew that would be the case.
Hello Steve, Thank you so much for your review. We are allowed to use that patio, but we first have to full our own patio tables, and if it's a slow day it's just not worthy to open that other patio. And for the indoor seating we can mostly accommodate you inside (even though you reserved outside), please next time let us know that you are preferred to seat inside and we will do. Thanks again!
