Having enjoyed the chef tasting experience at Jont ourselves, we treated one of our kiddos and significant other to the same as an anniversary treat. They have just as much fun as we did1 The food, presentation, atmosphere, and service are all top-notch. It's worth the trouble and the expense to take advantage of this fabulous offering.

Exquisite food & excellent service. Extremely friendly staff. The meal was not inexpensive, but I did not feel at all cheated and the experience was worth every penny. My only issue was with the loudness of music, which often made it difficult to hear the detailed descriptions of the food and wines as they were delivered by the extremely knowledgeable staff members.

An unforgettable dining experience My wife and I had an incredible evening at Jônt. From the moment we stepped through the door, everything was seamless. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. The service struck the perfect balance between polished and personable, creating a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. The food was phenomenal. Each course was creative, beautifully presented, and full of bold, balanced flavors. The progression of the tasting menu felt like a journey, with every dish offering something new and exciting. I have a particular obsession with bright acidity, and while a few of the richer dishes might have soared even higher with a touch of lemon, that is very much a personal preference. Fortunately, the sake pairings added just the kind of clean, vibrant lift I love, and they complemented the meal in a way that felt intentional and precise. Jônt is more than just a restaurant. It is an experience we will remember and talk about for a long time. We are already looking forward to our next visit and would recommend it without hesitation.

The customer service is really want makes this place. We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday and they really went above and beyond to make him feel special. Not only that but they make him a surprise custom dessert! They also were gracious enough to make dogs treats for our fur babies. Overall what an amazing experience, can’t express enough how amazing the customer service is.

From the moment we stepped into Jont in Washington, DC, we were warmly greeted by the exceptionally friendly front-of-house team, who guided us upstairs to the chef's counter where we dined. The music was perfectly curated, setting an inviting vibe that promised an unforgettable evening ahead. We were welcomed by the talented team of chefs with a complimentary glass of champagne, though we opted for the non-alcoholic version—a thoughtful touch that we truly appreciated as non-drinkers. It's refreshing to see such inclusive options on offer. The chefs operated like a well-oiled machine, moving in seamless harmony without needing to exchange words. Instead, they directed their full attention to us patrons, passionately explaining each dish and drink pairing with genuine enthusiasm. The chef's tasting menu was meticulously crafted, with every element thoughtfully considered. We chose the non-alcoholic drink pairing, and several of the in-house creations quickly became our favorites of the night—their creativity and balance were impeccable.Once the savory courses concluded, we were escorted to a cozy sitting area for the dessert tasting. The desserts were insanely delicious, served alongside an in-house milk tea that was simply to die for. To cap off the experience, we were gifted a copy of that evening's menu and another in-house delight: a Mint Matcha Latte to enjoy at home or the next morning. It was every bit as delightful as promised. In most fine-dining experiences, there might be one or two dishes that don't quite dazzle, but not at Jont. Every single course, from start to finish, was exceptional—I honestly couldn't pick a favorite. The pacing was flawless; we never felt rushed and always felt genuinely seen and attended to. An amazing job by Chef Ryan and the entire staff—we'll be making Jont a must-visit every time we're in DC.

This was not a dinner, a fancy experience, or a top tier meal. This was an adventure! The meal was a series of small plates (17 overall I think) that explored the relationship between the sea, the land, and the air. While an expensive encounter (for me at least) it was an experience that I will not forget. The wine pairings were a perfect compliment to the meal especially the dessert drinks. The totality of the experience, the environment, the ambience, the preparation, the personal care, and the quality of the experience cannot be understated.

We did the wine pairing, 2 of 7 were a total miss. Others had cocktails mixed at the table, we decided that would have been a more interesting option. We are very frequent wine tasting diners. The early one and two bite courses were fantastic, however some of the later courses were heavily (umami) sauced. Desert was confusing, everyone was moved to another room and presented with the bar menu. Confused, we thought it was time to order a drink or leave shortly. We then received a one bite item. Then a bit later we received another one bite with drink. We were sure it was now over, but then they brought a box with about 7 one bite items for each of us. This confusion wasn’t appreciated by us. One major pleasure was the outstanding service rendered by every individual we interfaced, that being nearly every server throughout the evening. The noise level was never an issue, a welcomed surprise. Go and have fun - we hope this helps your experience be a better one.

Thank you for the feedback, Michael. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the earlier courses, and that our service was also appreciated. We're sorry to hear about the confusion regarding the desserts in our Pastry Parlor. We will certainly consider your feedback as we strive to improve our services. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again soon.

Really quite the disappointment this time around. We had traveled 6 hours for this dinner. This was the second time my party has joined Jont for their dinner service. Our first experience was quite exceptional and welcoming. We got the chance to speak with Chef Ryan and have a thoughtful conversation and we felt welcomed by him and his team. He and his team spoke highly about their last day of service before their summer break and we decided we would book our second visit on June 29th with the expectations that the service would be even better and we would have been cared for. They informed us to come back the last day to get an even better experience, but that fell short. The food was good but dinner felt rushed. The service was lackluster and everyone seemed excited to go on break and leave. We were welcomed at the door but nothing to the extent of "Welcome Back". We had the expectation that Chef Ryan would be there for the last service as well, but he had left for his vacation. We did enjoy the slight variances of the dishes than the first time around but some of the dishes were lacking. We were served a dish that was supposed to have shaved truffles but they did not have any because they ran out. How would one justify the price point of the dinner if they did not have one of the key ingredients of fresh shaved truffles? They decided that one of their dessert dishes, the sweet potato, was not going to have dry ice as one of their presentations. It was quite the disappointment. We did not feel welcomed this time around and honestly was not worth the two Michelin star service. We were looking forward to this dinner three months in advanced and had booked the dinner once the reservations came out. This may have been one of their lackluster services or morale was low. Was it because Chef Ryan was not there to oversee service? We were left wondering why were we duped by the team to come back for an exceptional experience only to be treated by a subpar performance.

Hello Norbert, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Jônt. We are truly sorry that your second visit did not meet expectations. We pride ourselves on our exceptional service, and it's clear we fell short. We appreciate your feedback about the rushed service and the shaved truffle issue. I do want to mention at that time we were entering Australian black truffle season, and have consistently not had truffles since the end of March. The Donabe cooked rice course that did not receive truffles shaved tableside did in fact include preserved truffles in the saucework, as this is our standard during the "off season." Again, we apologize for delivery sub-par and dissatisfactory service. We hope you'll give us another chance to provide the true Jônt experience.

This was my first time going to Jont and I was not disappointed. This was one of my best dining experiences, and I’ve been to quite a few Michelin star restaurants. The level of detail that was put in to the experience as first class! I will definitely be back!
