   An excellent meal in superb surroundings. Staff were pleasant and attentive. My only criticism was that the price of the starter was on the high side We have been to the Jolly many times and continue to enjoy the surroundings and food. Thanks Jolly Fisherman.

   We booked this venue from information on an advert and were not disappointed! Friendly staff good food and good service. Lots of appetising items on the menu and able to tailor our choices as required.

   This was by far the best quality and value for money restaurant that I’ve been to. The food was excellent and fresh. All 7 guests enjoyed their meals and we have rebooked for another evening to try other options on the menu

   This was our third visit to the Jolly Fisherman, and unfortunately a little disappointing this time. The crab soup which used to be very rich & creamy & filled with lots of pieces of crab, now is thin & watery, with only a few pieces of crab. I chose the cod with lobster sauce for main, again very disappointing, the sauce was a thin broth with a tiny pice of cod sitting in it. We will not be returning for a fourth visit, as the food is no longer worth the high price.

   The Jolly Fisherman is simply the best fish restaurant In Norhumbeland. Where else would my wife and I go for lunch to celebrate our 44 year wedding anniversary.

    Excellent place to eat and drink. Great atmosphere with live music. Restaurant was lovely with great views and superb food. I had local seafood which was beautiful and my husband had the fish pie which he said was full of seafood and delicious.
