I absolutely love the food at JoJo but the service we received on this recent visit was unacceptable. We waited over 15 minutes to be seated, despite our reservation, and were not offered any kind of drink or given anything complimentary from the kitchen. I can tolerate those kinds of delays from new restaurants just figuring out their footing, but from a long standing establishment like JoJo and on a Monday night, I don’t have any patience. Especially considering that I’ve been in that situation at other Jean Georges restaurants and always received amazing service. We also had to flag down our waiter on multiple occasions as he was quite overwhelmed. He was really polite and lovely but it was frustrating. The food was exceptional, as always, so that was a plus. Also, the downstairs feels like a cafeteria. Now I know to always request to sit upstairs in the future.
Delicious prepared food, nice upscale vibe, attentive service.
Simply a great place!
We went to this little gem on the UES for Father's Day 2019. Not flashy on the outside and just perfect for the two of us on the inside. Spacious and classy. Very attentive service staff who made the time to chat at the table side. Not at all rushed. Food was excellent and just the right serving size. Chocolate cake for desert was to die for. Will return.
Great place for brunch. Very good food and excellent service
Celebrated our friends 40th anniversary. It was a lively evening. They enjoyed it tremendously.
It would have been fine except for the glass of white wine that was $24 dollars and measured exactly 5 ounces. The server explained that all glasses of wine are measured at 5 ounces. Given the average bottle of wine yields 6 glasses that’s $144. The actual bottle of wine is around $30. That’s some markup JoJo.
Service was great. Ambience was a bit muted for a Friday night. Food was mostly good although the chicken was quite salty. Final price was quite expensive.
Tuna tartare is delicious, duck was fabulous. Wagyu beef quite good. Loved the carrot cake. Overall JoJo was superb. One of the 2 or 3 best restaurants in nyc.
The food was fabulous and the ambience even better !!! We had a wonderful experience at Jojo s
I think that JoJo needs to up their game. The surroundings are very pleasant and the service is very good. The food is well-prepared but, at lunch, not that interesting. The dishes don't read interesting on the page and they don't taste interesting in the mouth. Prices are rather high, with accordingly low value, especially on some dishes. The kitchen seems to be trying to be inoffensive, and a few inoffensive dishes help expand the customer base. But couldn't there be some more daring dishes as well? Or at least dishes are that more full-bodied in flavor? And if the kitchen is going to do inoffensive, it needs to do it better. The French fries really need work: they should be crisp on the outside and soft on the inside and taste of potato. I keep going here because it's near where I work, but I'm close to giving up. And given the ease of making a lunch reservation, I think other people already have given up.
I was disappointed the tuna in my friend’s Tuna Nicoise was from a can and not fresh seared tuna.
Great food, cozy dining room but a little loud
The ambience is nice yet food was very basic except for the tuna tartare. For Monday lunch the restaurants were quite busy yet I would still not recommend to frds. Foods had no kick!
Birthdays for parents
Food was just average and totally overpriced. Not to mention how long we waited for the food to be served. There are better options in the city with such price we paid.
Amazing! Food was incredible (especially the lobster and the fruit cobbler) and service was top notch. I will follow Britta anywhere.
The food was lovely and the servers were very friendly! The restaurant was quite noisy but it wasn’t much of an issue.
Great ambiance and delicious food
Surprisingly perfect spot for lunch. Food and service were terrific.
A friend and I went to JoJo for lunch/brunch. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing, and the menu options were plentiful and healthy. Great drinks too but cocktails and fresh juices. We enjoyed!
We arrived late and had few time...service was impeccable and the excellent food arrived so quickly we could fully enjoy our time. The tiny townhouse is beautifully renovated.
there was not a restroom on 2nd floor, so I was told, although I recall one there a few weeks ago
Food was over salted & not very tasty. Extremely noisy. Service waiter was pleasant but it took 1hr between salad & main course. I ordered the Thursday special which they were out of . Not the usual experience @ a Jean- George restaurant
Everything was perfect!! Def i’ll be back
Food is incredibly good and the waiters are very nice and friendly but not always available. While the decor looks chic and I love the vintage plates and silverware, they could use some curtains or sound absorbing wallpaper or pads to cut down the noise.
The new version of this classic restaurant is amazing on every score - food, service and decor. Every one of the seven things we ordered was ridiculously delicious - the only negative thing about eating here is that you have to eat elsewhere and the food just doesn't compare. The upper east side needs more of these type of restaurants - delicious neighborhood eateries.
We enjoyed the service and food. Very friendly and energetic staff. Loved the broccoli soup and the kitchen. The food had more salt than needed. Otherwise, outstanding.
Our table was too close to the kitchen and noisy. Ask for a table in the upper level.
It is my favorite restaurant in NYC! I have already eaten there three times this month.
Thank you- always really lovely
One of the best meals we have had in a while. The renovation really freshens the place up- it’s perfectly hit the fine balance of being high end without pretentious. And the food was of course perfect
The "new" Jo Jo's surpassed the original.. It's a wonderful
restaurant and look forward to returning
The food is outstanding. The decor is lovely and contemporary in this gorgeous town house
. Even though it became a bit noisy I wold not hesitate from going back.
Outstanding. Service was impeccable and low key. Very supportive team. Crab dumplings as appetizer are fabulous. Black bass with mushrooms was terrific. At the top of NYC restaurants.
Always perfect!! Food delicious, great ambiance, the servers very cheerful and well trained !
The service feels a little rushed, we finished a three course meal in an hour. Wouldn’t mind have a few more minutes between the meals. Food is good but the space is sooo noisy. I think the noise level is what keeps us from visiting more often.
As always, food and service were spot on...my only complaint, if it's really worth complaining about, is that the tables are small. My wife son and I were seated at a two person table on the corner of a couch and there was barely room for our appetizers and drinks. But the quality of the food and the service were excellent, so we didn't mind being sardined for a little while.
Very sweet and attentive service. The yellowfin tuna tartare is special. Had delicious roasted lobster, regretted not finishing the lemon meringue pie.
Tea service was special. Will come back!
