Great food and good service. Salmon and corn pudding dish was a little salted, also the place is a little pricey. Still enjoyed very much.
Super friendly service and especially interested in your happiness. Very refreshing. Felt like a fantastic restaurant in a smaller town! Cheers
Loved the food, service and decor.
Very pleasant and good
Our dinner at JoJo was absolutely fantastic. The ambiance was perfect and cozy. The service was impeccable, and the staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations. Our server recommended the special, which was an avocado shrimp salad and that was so delicious. Our dinner was so amazingly delicious and plated so beautifully. My husband and I had the black sea bass and the crispy chicken and we still can't stop talking about how wonderful our meal was. I highly recommend JoJo, and plan to return soon. Oh, and the ginger margarita was so refreshing and smooth, that I wish I had another one right now.
The noise level was off the charts! It was like being in a sports bar. My dinner companion and I had to scream at each other to be heard at all. The food was incredible as always, but it was not a pleasant experience.
The food and drinks were wonderful and the the staff was truly lovely!
Loved everything about this place
Outstanding service, delicious food, nice atmosphere (upstairs) for quiet conversation. Excellent dining experience.
Great service, consistently wonderful food.
I think the selection of wines is not complementary to the summer cuisine.
Most whites, and we tried several, were watery and too mineral.
So please try to add some sumemr whites besides Chardonnay that is more full bodied yet a little dry.
We actually opened two bottles since the first white was really not pleasing.
We ended up with a Sancerre Rose...not my favorite either. Would have preferred a white.
I used to love Jojo's, but hadn't been in years. I was excited to try it again after the refresh. Unfortunately, I found the experience frustrating and unsatisfying. The new look of the restaurant is boring and uninviting.
I booked a table for lunch to celebrate a friend's milestone birthday (which I indicated in the comments section at the time of booking). We were shown to our table immediately upon arriving; however, we then sat for a good 20-25 minutes before we were able to flag a server to come over. Her excuse was that she thought we were waiting for a fourth person to join. Even if we were, why didn't she approach us to ask if we wanted a drink or to introduce herself or bring bread?
Our appetizers were good. Our main course salads, however, looked worse than what a diner would serve - unappealing and bland. There was way too much (flavorless) dressing, and they were not plated to appeal to the palate. I was so disappointed! When we ordered dessert, I asked the server to put a candle in my friend's dessert. My friend asked for her dessert to come out without the side of ice cream. When the desserts appeared, there was no candle and there was ice cream! The service was slow and inattentive. I asked for honey three times for my coffee. After we finished our drinks, no one ever asked if we wanted to order a second round. It felt like we were invisible. I wish I had taken photos of the plates to show others how unappealing they were. Unfortunately, I did not.
I can no longer recommend this restaurant. And I was so embarrassed to have suggested Jojo to my friend for her special birthday.
It was my first time here, and it was a huge disappointment. The four of us were put upstairs in the back room, next to a party of ten, and another incredibly loud party of four. The din was remarkable - almost impossible to hear each other. AND, the service was SO slow. Took forever just to order our drinks, and then forever again to get them. Ditto for the food. And then, instead of comping us a few of our small dishes, they brought additional dishes that were both substandard and unwanted. Sorry - I usually love his restaurants. Not this time.
Typical N.Y. restaurant- noisy and crowded. Nonetheless we had a great time as the food was outstanding.
I don't write many reviews, but this deserves it! Amazing service and of the most incredible meals I have experienced! From my drink at the bar with the lovely bartender who suggested the most perfect glass of white wine, to every bite of food we had, this was an incredible experience. My favorite of all his restaurants I have been to thus far. We had the warm shrimp salad (from the classic menu), crab dumplings, fillet mignon, black bass, and the carrot cake for dessert. Outstanding!!
Delicious and lovely
Wonderful food and atmosphere!
Great food, ok service but noise level is just unbearable ... we won't go back because of that
Absolutely amazing. I couldn’t have asked for more in a dinning experience.
Jojo is one of my favorite restaurants in Manhattan. The black sea bass that I had was delicious. I also had a beet salad to start that had the most tender little beets in an assortment of colors. The desserts are all perfection. Loved it all from start to finish.
One of my favorite restaurants in NYC. I always dine there. By far, the best meal I had while in the City. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The server was excellent. Bravo!
Nice atmosphere, excellent service and food that is fresh, beautifully prepared and very enjoyable.
The music was a bit loud but that’s the only thing we found fault with.
Bruch, like dinner, is an experience. We just love the ambiance and food is wholesome. Ideas on the menu are original and well crafted. A gem!
A feel good experience from beginning to end. Great menu w/ fresh quality ingredients, staff are attentive without being intrusive, the ambience is chic yet relaxed. Food and service has been A+with consistency. Warning: most dishes can be very addictive!
First time in the restaurant and loved it. Definitely will go again
Great staff, very professional and courteous. Food was great!
Wonderful brunch - great service and very reasonably priced for the quality.
I ordered a burger medium rare and it came out bright red and cold in the middle. The waitstaff all seemed brand new and no one really seemed to know how to wait tables. We watched our food come out- the girl came out, did a lap with it and took it back to the kitchen. We stopped her later asking where our food went and she said oh do you want it now? Uuummm yes. We had the flatbread which was very eh. The tuna tartar app was very good. I didn’t eat the burger- it was too under cook.
It was our first visit to JoJo's and we were very impressed with the the warmth and hospitality of all the staff, the cocktails and our dinner. We appreciated the professionalism of the waitress in her help with the wine and how the fish was prepared. We will be back soon.
Quality food was ok! Perfect ambient, but the music was too loud for a place like this.
The only neg side was that service too fast.
Other than that...it was a good experience.
I am a die-hard JG fan and religiously eat at his restaurants at least once a week. Have also personally met JG at his resto in Paris Kitchen Mercer, ABC V/Kitchen/Cocina & Nougatine.
Terrible experience. There is an attitude in this restaurant. Service was terrible. Ordered 3 courses and was still eating my first course when they brought out the second course. Had to ask them to send it back. Ordered a bottle of white wine which came out warm and had to be chilled and then I had to ask them to pour the wine because they did not pay attention to the wine glasses being empty. Food was hit or miss. The duck came out chewy and stringy and this is there signature dish. The chicken special was very salty and some of the dishes lacked seasoning. It is such a shame that the restaurant has changed from what it once was which was an elegant restaurant with wonderful food. There are plenty of other restaurants in this area so skip this one and go somewhere else
Every item was surprisingly good
Phenomenal meal, we will absolutely return. Their renovation has left the townhouse is beautiful form which only compliments the cuisine.
I am hard pressed to find quality fresh yellowtail and I was DELIGHTED by the quality of the yellowtail in the appetizer which I ate as a light lunch. It was perfect in flavor and sizing - I will be back. I found their margarita well made and perfectly limited on sugar as I requested. I complimented the bartender as I left, it was a fantastic marg.
My fiance really enjoyed his burger and thinks it is better than an about to be Michelin star restaurant we dined in a couple weeks ago in DC. He found their beer collection nice and had one he had not tried before.
For dessert, I had the chia bowl which was so delicious even to me who is not a big Chia fan! I loved the array of little nuts and fruits placed in it. I thought it had a wide variety of items and nutrients. My fiance was very happy with his chocolate cake and ice cream.
We look forward to returning and bringing family when they are in town, it was a very on point meal well prepared with the best ingredients.
Good food, kind service, great atmosphere
Will be back for lunch or brunch next time with friends 😉
My first time back since reopening after renovation. The place is lovely and the food very good!!!! We were seated at a very nice table upstairs, as requested and overall we had a very nice experience. My crab dumplings were delicious and same for the salmon with the green curry, very delicate flavor. Our guests enjoyed the tuna tartare and the crispy chicken. Service was also very good!!!!
The lobster was outstanding and I lived in New England for many years, so I had low expectations. Probably one of the best preparations of lobster that I have had. The restaurant was bright and the staff was friendly on a rainy day. Overall a great dinner location.
I absolutely love the food at JoJo but the service we received on this recent visit was unacceptable. We waited over 15 minutes to be seated, despite our reservation, and were not offered any kind of drink or given anything complimentary from the kitchen. I can tolerate those kinds of delays from new restaurants just figuring out their footing, but from a long standing establishment like JoJo and on a Monday night, I don’t have any patience. Especially considering that I’ve been in that situation at other Jean Georges restaurants and always received amazing service. We also had to flag down our waiter on multiple occasions as he was quite overwhelmed. He was really polite and lovely but it was frustrating. The food was exceptional, as always, so that was a plus. Also, the downstairs feels like a cafeteria. Now I know to always request to sit upstairs in the future.
Delicious prepared food, nice upscale vibe, attentive service.
