Food was fabulous (we had the steak, the duck breast, the crispy-skin baked chicken, and a burrata and a spicy tuna appetizer). Service was also excellent - friendly, efficient, attentive. The only problem was the heat - air conditioner too antiquated to deal with 90 degrees outside, and there is no place quiet enough to allow a 4-way conversation without shouting.

I have been there before but this time was a disappointment. It was the hottest day of the year, 100 degrees and their air conditioners broke down just about the time that we got there. They chose not to mention it and as we ate our meal it became extremely uncomfortable. Had we been told, we would have returned on another evening but I guess it was more important to them to make that last dollar. When I complained they offered us a glass of ice to make up for the problem. I’m serious. Somehow they believed that a glass of ice would make up for being uncomfortable in what is supposed to be a top rated restaurant.They said that the technician was already there which meant that they had to have called him before we got there. We watched as a party who came after us got up and left. Whether or not the food or service were good I’m totally unable to judge properly as the problem with the heat overwhelmed everything else. I had lunch here 10 years ago and loved it. We were back in the city for 2 days and tried it for dinner. The noise level was beyond anything that I have ever experienced in a nice restaurant. The table next to us switched 3 times because of the noise. I learned we should have asked to sit upstairs. That said, the food was fantastic and the service was excellent too. They offered to comp our entrees which I declined but they did pay for our glasses of wine. We recommend this restaurant but for dinner sit upstairs.

Great atmosphere and service. Spring pea soup was delish and rack of lamb was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The dessert of strawberries with crisp meringue was divine. Definitely returning soon!

Any time I get the opportunity to eat at a Vongerichten restaurant I’ll never pass it up. JoJo is a lovely place to dine, enhanced by the Maestro’s signature deft preparations and first rate service. Our server Melanie was charming, unobtrusive and professional, and added considerably to our experience. I’ve eaten here many times, and always look forward to returning. A first rate experience.

We loved the ambience - a subdued elegance that was soothing and classy! The salmon we had was divine; it melted in our mouths. The flavor just perfect, combined with the maitake mushrooms and the mustard greens. We will definitely return to Jojo. Such a jewel! I took my goddaughter visiting from Portugal and she loved it!
