John's is a neighborhood restaurant in Lincoln Park that serves a regularly changing menu of seasonal dishes. We offer both a la carte and tasting menu options. Our Chef’s Tasting Menu will now be available seven nights a week—in the dining room or at our bar. This exquisite five-course menu is priced at $115 and will always feature dishes that aren’t on our a la carte board. We do ask that all members of your party order the same menu.
For walk-in guests, you can now also order the Chef’s Tasting Menu every night.
We've carefully curated our wine list to complement every occasion and dish on our menu, highlighting small producers alongside renowned vineyards.
Our bar is walk in only and great if you want to pop by for just cocktails and snacks but also always serves our full dinner menu.

The food is absolutely phenomenal. The lobster gnocchi with chamomile cream sauce might be the best gnocchi I’ve ever had and possibly also the best lobster. Great wine list and service. Slightly strange that you have to order your dishes at the hostess stand before being seated, not sure why that’s needed or desirable.

This was one of the best meals I’ve had in a really long time. It was an interesting way of dining, but I didn’t feel rushed at all and was impressed watching the kitchen work. The service was impeccable and everyone was just so kind and tentative. I couldn’t recommend coming here enough. I really think this restaurant deserves a Michelin star.

Food was awesome. We did the tasting and almost every course was A+. Service was sooooo bad. Had a reservation. There wa complete chaos by host stand when we arrived. No way to ask if we were supposed to wait in the line for a reservation or what we were supposed to do. When they finally seated us, no one explained how the tasting worked, which is what we wanted to do. The host didn’t tell us that there was a drink order menu hidden under our table. We had to flag someone down to ask how it worked. We had to tell them that my husband had a scallop allergy which was on the tasting and then they still brought him a scallop. They were apologetic, but they clearly do not have their act together for service. All the dishes were fantastic, except for the substitution of the scallop which they just took a piece of salmon and did it in the scallop preparation that dish was mediocre and the scallop was overcooked. Everything else was great. They have to decide if they wanna take reservations and manage the service or if they just wanted to be a no Reservation first come first serve place. The current hybrid is not working.

I love this place - it has a real neighborhood vibe and the food is always excellent. It was my 2nd time trying the cheeseburger and it's huge and delicious. The wines by-the-glass are fantastic and there are lots of fun and interesting other wine options as well. I'll be back!
