    Our Mother’s Day dining experience couldn’t have been better. The food was exquisite, the service was excellent, and the overall vibe was fun and lively. We had never dined at Johnny’s before (had gotten take-out there once during Covid), and it exceeded our expectations. Plenty of gluten-free options for us, including a delicious key-lime pie that’s just been added to the menu. Also the kale ceasar was to die for. My mom left feeling extremely satisfied and ready to come back!

    Food was delicious! We had the duck and two of the homemade pasta dishes, all of which were excellent. For a starter, we had the Brussels sprouts and they were outstanding. Finally, we topped things off with the flourless chocolate torte, rich and creamy, a wonderful end to the night. The service was pretty good but she completely forgot to bring our coffee. All in all, an excellent meal.

    We were joined by 2 dear friends and were served by Justina - always friendly and professional! There was a snafu with one of the orders, but it was rectified quickly. The food was prepared exactly as ordered - delicious as always!

    The hostess was very rude to us and refused to let us have a booth, even though there were plenty available. I told her I had a reservation through Open Table and she reported to Open Table we never arrived, so Open Table asked me why I did not cancel the reservation. I wrote them and said the hostess said we were a no show, even though we were there. Service days a lot about a restaurant. Probably won’t visit there again.

    Every plate is consistently delicious from visit to visit. Best dry martinis in the valley. Fries are crisp, the hallmark of a great tavern. I like to cook, but when circumstances dictate, I eat at Johnny’s.

    All four of us loved everything we ate--the bread, squash soup, salmon, chicken, bass, and of course, dessert. The service was done efficiently and with a smile. We went back twice during our trip. I highly recommend Johnny's tavern.
