Poor is an understatement, when the salad was the best item you know it’s was a disappointment. Have been prior and everything was perfect- however it’s not the same 3 months later- waitress horrible attitude, slow service, steaks and fish were both over cooked like leather. Took so long to get the food it wasn’t worth asking for a redo.
Our steaks were good and service was great however the stuffed lobster with seafood was not good. Rubbery and just not good flavor. Our mash potatoes were cold too. Not the best but not the worst. I know it’s hard right now with supply chain issues so I will give them another try. Our waiter was fantastic think his name was Tim. Provided us a free dessert due to the seafood and potatoes. We did enjoy ourselves they just need to get back into the swing of a full menu perhaps.
This was a 2nd date. I wasn’t aware it was attached to the hotel. So that was a bit awkward. Otherwise, the restaurant, staff, food, ambience and noise levels were perfect for us to get to know each other a bit more.
I would recommend this to anyone.
Calamari, Yummy, scallops, yummy!
Best filet in town! Service awesome! Yep! Really like Johnny’s and will go back !
Always outstanding! Bonet is absolutely the best waitress in the restaurant! Do yourself a favor and sit in her section!
Small portions for cost. Taste of food was good but just not enough of it. Waitstaff and hostess were awesome and attentive. Restaurant was clean and it was a nice atmosphere.
Food was delicious! Drinks were excellent, service was great, will be back!
The service was exceptional and we enjoyed the not being rushed to eat and go. Appetizers were delicious and so we’re our entrees. The only issue was my husband’s sirloin steak was quite tough. Besides that, we enjoyed the evening here.
chicken parm was way over cooked and dry...I ordered a filet instead of the sirloin but got the sirloin anyhow...when we finally got the server's attention they did fix the situation but sat around waiting...didn't ruin the night just didn't add to the experience
YUM! The food here was amazing-- I only wish that they were serving their full menu because they had some amazing apps and entree's that we really wanted to try. Overall, what we did have was so delicious we will defiantly be back. The host was so friendly and helpful, while our server was ok (again I will chalk that up to COVID).
We eat here a lot and normally it is quite good and reasonable - tonight the steak was just average, not like previously, and the lights flickered all night. It was a little bit irritating.
Saturday night out
Very disappointing - been several times and loved it, then this time had the worst with service and food quality. Also highly annoying that the lights kept flashing brighter and dimmer and when we asked were told oh they’ve been this way for about a month and keep getting worse. For this price, I expect much better.
Our food was delicious! Very generous portions. Staff was friendly and perfectly attentive. Can’t wait for them for have their full menu again.
Our server Deseray (i believe that was her name) was very attenuative and provided great appetizers. Food was brought out quick and hot. Steaks cooked to everyone's preference. Dessert came and the cheesecakes were great. Great business dinner for 3.
We’ve been here multiple times in the past couple of years. Every time has been excellent. This was an exception. We had, I’m guessing, a newly trained waitress who did not have it all together with regards to the menu and questions to ask regarding a steakhouse. Understanding that she was perhaps new, she still did a great job. Food was excellent as usual with the exception of one steak cooked medium when it was requested to be medium rare. All things considered, it is a great place to go without having to go to downtown Denver for a very nice meal in a quiet environment. I’m sure we will return again in the near future.
Always a special time at Johnny’s! Mother’s Day with my family was quiet and the food delicious!
Mothers Day Brunch was delightful at Johnny’s Italian Steak House in Thornton. There were numerous breakfast, lunch and dessert options included in the buffet. The egg soufflé, breakfast sausage, potatoes, roast beef and ravioli station were delish. Others in our party had the salmon, scrambled eggs and bacon. All were good! The antipasto and dessert were numerous and tasted great. We had watermelon and regular mimosas as well. Go with a big appetite because it’s all you can eat and to get your monies worth you need to eat several helpings. We had an excellent meal.
The mother's day brunch was below average, and we barely ate any of the selection. Food was tasteless, soggy, strange texture, or tasted processed and low quality. The buffet staff didn't seem too interested to be there and overall it didn't feel very inviting. The host was great, and the waitress checked on us regularly. But, we stepped away to get dessert, and our table was half cleaned with silverware placed in our drinks. Coffee was bitter and tasted burned. It's very unfortunate that I paid $114 before tip to leave barely full and unsatisfied.
We liked Johnny's Italian Steakhouse even though the service was very subpar. Might have been our servers first day. He seemed confused. Sadly he wasn't getting any supervision or training. We will probably try it again and see if the service is any better. Also they have a few nice wines but at room temperature. I think if you are a steakhouse you realize wine is better at 58 degrees or so.
I ordered the special which was a 6 ounce filet Oscar style, I didn't ask what the price was and was surprised to see it was $35. It was delicious though. My husband ordered the Heart of Italy Combination, the menu showed that it was supposed to come with a side and the server said it didn't come with a side. The portions were very small and it was overpriced at $27. The ambiance was nice, but it's not a restaurant we will go to often due to the portions and prices.
We went for the Prime Rib which was outstanding—cooked perfectly and so tender. Our server Bre was attentive but not intrusive. I ask for the salad dressing recipe every time we go, but so far it remains a secret—maybe the best Italian dressing I’ve ever had. We had a lovely evening.
The service and food were great.
The bar menu was out of date, it include whiskey that they admittedly had not been able to stock in over a year and a half. It wouldn't take much to reprint those.
The was an electrical problem that caused the light next to our table to flicker on and off all evening. It was happening in several locations throughout the restaurant. Fix them or figure out hap to turn them off.
Calamari was not edible, waitress took away without questioning why it wasn’t eaten, so since there were six of us we assumed she didn’t want the reason.
The fried raviolis were so over cooked there was nothing left in the center? Again, not even asked if we enjoyed them.
The bread was nice and warm, the wine was good, and my dad enjoyed his Bloody Mary but my mom didn’t like her chocolate martini, my husband hated the $16 black cherry drink. So tart you couldn’t drink.
My lobster bisque was delicious but that was about it. Steak over cooked, chicken Parmesan was the size of a small Lemon and was hard as cardboard and fettuccine was like buttered noodles. A very sad dining experience. We paid the entire bill and tipped without question but will never return. Happy Birthday to me. Crap!
And, just in case your worried about how busy they were? They were not, they were empty. I seen two tables with other customers.
Good food and service but limited selection of bourbon and whiskey
Server was entirely unkempt with half his shirt tucked in. Brought us dessert before we had even finished our entrees.
Hotel restaurant so as can be expected. Waited at reception for awhile before a host came out. We had reservations for our anniversary but was still seated at the bar and was eventually moved to a better location. Host in training (Stefani) was amazing. She found us a reasonable area to be seated in the almost empty restaurant. Ordered cocktails first and then wine for our dinner but never received the wine for my wife, reminded the server during dinner, then after dinner. He stopped by during desert and still no wine at which point we asked to ignore the order. Food was great but would have been better at it not been sitting under the warmer. Disappointing part was no apology and no empathy for poor service. Absolutely no excuse for poor service.
Had better steak at a bar. Was very disappointed. We were looking for a delicious option for good steak near home. Service was good. We dined early at 4:30.
Service was not personable. Over priced for what you got. Lights flicker on and off through the whole meal.
Excellent prime rib special for Restaurant Week (for 2 of us) in quiet, well separated spaces.
I really wanted to like this place. The actual ambiance of the restaurant is delightful. The drinks ordered were also very creative and tasty. The food left quite a lot to be desired. First, don’t order a steak of any kind. Had the 28 day aged charbroiled ribeye. What I got was a $7 diner steak with no char and no seasoning. The Chicken Madeira specialty dish was covered in what I imagine was jarred brown gravy that lasted long after we left. To be fair, the sausage stuffed mushrooms were tasty and delightful. But the meal was so unappealing and unimaginative that we skipped on desert. I can’t recommend and I won’t go back. Good Luck, hopefully it was an off night.
We went to celebrate 2 birthdays and had indicated such when making the reservation so of course were disappointed when we were charged for the birthday dessert.
The service was HORRIBLE. Our waiter was nice but we only saw him every 30 minutes. There were 4 of us. We ordered 4 drinks, 2 came and by the time the other 2 came we were done with the first 2. The food was cold when it arrived.
Tony was our waiter. He was outstanding!!!!
Wonderful presentation, excellent service, great atmosphere, delicious food/cocktails and reasonably priced.
The Italian Sausage stuffed Mushrooms are the bomb!
We ate at Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse this past weekend to celebrate my husband’s birthday.
Because of Covid, this was the first time we had been there since September! Everything was great. Service was outstanding, and our food was excellent!
They have the best wine list in the northern suburbs! And I love the Rat Pack Era ambience!
We’ll be back!
The food was OK. The service was lacking. For example, we didn't get a single refill on our water the whole time we were there. Our server was very rushed and did not take the time to check on our table.
We had a very good experience at Johnny's Italian Steakhouse.
We shared a few appetizers that we very good, and a good value.
The steaks were cooked to order, the pastas dishes were very good, and large portions. Our server was great, very responsive, and knowledgeable about the menu.
We will be back.
Perfect, as always. Great service, delicious and well-prepared meals, and a wonderful ambiance. Looking forward to our next visit!
Thank you! We'll see you again real soon!
All our steaks were excellent and cooked perfectly!! Great service!
Thank you for the wonderful review! Hope to see you again soon!
