Great menu selections, great service, great cocktails - we will most definitely be back!! Feels great to have a high end restaurant in the area! My steak was cooked to perfection. I recommend upgrading to the goat cheese salad.
Shelly was absolutely amazing, so extremely patient and knowledgeable about everything from wine to entrees to dessert. We had an amazing meal and will be back. Thanks Shelly!
Four of us went to dinner. Service was very much on point. Appetizers were delicious. Entrees were prepared exactly how we wanted. We weren’t ruched at all. The server (Sarah) knew we were on a leisurely pace and made sure we had a dining experience rather than just a meal. Well Done Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse!
This place is becoming my favorite restaurant in the Thornton area. This was our second visit here. The first time I had pasta and this time had their signature steak meal, and both were excellent. The menu is extensive, the wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the booths are cozy and quiet, and the cocktails are generous. A real winner.
We went for my husbands birthday with a couple of friends. We sat for over 20 minutes before anyone greeted us. Drinks took another 20. We ordered right away as we realized food may take a while as well. Salads took forever, appetizers took forever. Lobster bisque tasted like tomato soup with liqueur. Our entrees literally took an hour-an hour and a half to come out. While our server was very apologetic, it is seemed like she was very overwhelmed and it was hard to tell if this was a kitchen error or hers. She offered us free dessert for the wait. Our lobster tail came out RAW, and the friend who ordered it is pregnant. They gave us half off of the lobster tail for the inconvenience and made her a new one. The new tail was way overdone and smelled burnt. My husband ordered the filet medallions and only received 2 medallions when the menu stated it came with 3. We didn’t even bring it up because we were so over it at this point. The creme brûlée we received for the wait was COLD and seemed like it was sitting forever. The whole experience would have been unbearable if we wouldn’t have had friends we hadn’t seen in a while to catch up with. The manager seemed to be going to almost every table to offer dessert for some type of bad service. She never asked how anything was though or about our experience. It is a bummer because the menu looks promising and we really hoped that this would become a new favorite. Unfortunately I don’t even think it’s worth a second chance.
I thought the restaurant was really nice. It's nice to have a good restaurant close to our residence in Thornton (we live only three miles away). We'll probably bring some of our relatives or neighbors with us the next time we go. I was impressed with the service and would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend or family member. The food was good but I think I should have ordered something more traditional to my normal tastes. But overall it was very good, and we'll go back.
Food was great except the salmon. Very nice restaurant
This was a wonderful restaurant. The food taste brought us back to our trip to Italy. We would highly recommend this to everyone. Staff was wonderful. Only negative is that the bartender is a little light in his drinks.
The food was fantastic, the desserts need a little bit of work. My mother in law said it was the best spinach salad she had ever had.
The setting is spectacular. Service was a little slow, but that will work itself out.
We had a fantastic time.
Beautiful new place. Delicious drinks and the best server I’ve had anywhere in a very long time. Food was amazing !
What a beautiful setting! The staff was friendly, helpful, informative and engaging. The service was excellent. The menu included many entries including including Italian dishes, meat and fish entries as well as an excellent selection of appetizers and starters. The food was excellent, moderately priced and enough to allow us to take some home for snacks tomorrow.
A few hiccups, but not unexpected for a new restaurant. Food seemed to take awhile to come from the kitchen, but our server, Chris was good about checking in with us. Salad comes with dinner, delicious dressing. Biggest disappointment was tiramisu.
Wonderful meal and excellent service; a most pleasant evening.
Definitely will revisit this place...plenty of parking cause its inside the Hilton hotel..staff is very friendly.... but they need to relax and make it an "experience " while they are very prompt I think some customers would like a little slower pace to enjoy each others conversation..not only with each other but while the staff also..that how you can create a longer relationship... from repeat business to having your customers create additional business by word of mouth.. nothing like free advertising..
Special place! Food was very tasty, just came out not hot enough. Everything else was wonderful. Service was very attentive , but the server didn't rush us. Nicely paced courses. Definitely going back! Reservations are a plus. Dress was too
casual for the swanky style at least for me. Not a shorts and flip flop type of place but whatever.
Brand new place, excellent food, superior service (thanks Ashley), quiet ambiance.
This place is in the brand new Hilton Garden Inn - which is still under construction. Johnny’s is part of a chain so things will probably (need to) improve. Our table had a layer of dust on it - napkins and plates and the floor were covered in a fine layer of construction dust. Basically the food was flavorless. The sausage bread and blue cheese with chips appetizers were bland. There were just a few chips on the plate but it really didn’t matter because the blue cheese dip (hot?) was so mediocre. The spinach salad entree was to come with hot bacon dressing. It arrived without and when I asked about it, the runner brought a tiny thimble of dressing - it was congealed - although the container was warm. When our server asked if things were good I asked for more dressing. She returned with another of the tiny cups with congealed bacon & onion mixture. I ended up dumping the bland blue cheese dressing from the app onto the salad to try to soften the spinach leaves. A Caesar entree salad with ahi was disappointing - just a lukewarm chunk of ahi on a chopped Caesar base. The inside of the fish was ice cold. The iced tea tasted ok but it was very cloudy. Overall we are happy to have a new spot in the area but there remains a lot of work to do to bring the kitchen and housekeeping teams up to a satisfactory level. Others we have spoken with also complained about the overall blandness of each item tried. We will give it another visit in a few months and hope that by then things are improved.
My husband ordered stake ( med rare) and he got well done. I ordered pasta and it was not warm, taste- plain.. not worth the money. The only meal that was perfect was kids meal for our daughter. The server was nice but it was taking her a long time to refill our drinks.
I hesitate to write this review because I don't want this secret gem in Thornton to become too busy for me to enjoy. My husband and I loved our quiet evening with excellent food in this brand new restaurant. We shared the light size Italian sampler appetizer and agreed that we could have ordered a regular size and had that as a meal. Everything on it was so good, but the sausage bread was hands down the favorite. I had the steak trio which gives you 3 small fillets with three different types of crust. All were amazing and cooked to perfection. Husband got the Porterhouse and ate the whole thing with a gorgonzola cream sauce (not on the menu, but he did not want a crust so they made the sauce instead).
Our server, Chris, was knowledgeable and gave spot on suggestions. He was delightful and always appeared when we needed him. He said they will be opening a patio in the next few weeks and we are looking forward to returning for drinks outside when the weather is warmer.
It is a steakhouse, with steakhouse pricing but we thought it was way less than other places with similar menus. It was our anniversary so we really splurged on everything including dessert which we never do but the final bill was not outrageous compared to other anniversary dinners.
This place had everything we could have wanted for our special night with the added bonus of it being in Thornton and very close to home.
Great food. Probably the best Creme Brûlée I have ever had. Service is a bit slow but to be expected with a newly opened restaurant. Definitely will visit again.
Great to finally have a nice steakhouse in the north Westminster area. Food was excellent and service was good as well. We will become regulars at this place 😉
If you go, stuck with the steaks. Fish was cold and dry, sides were VERY small. Family style salad was not enough to feed our table - one person went without. Several errors in our order. For the price, we probably would choose somewhere else. Disappointing!
Best place for a date! Also the best steak I have ever had.
Excited about a new steakhouse in our neighborhood.Service, food, and atmosphere were excellent.
Looking forward to our next dining experience.
This place is awesome the food and service are wonderful.
We ordered shrimp cocktail. The shrimp has some stick substance on it. We washed it with our drinking water and it was better then. I have never had tartar sauce with my shrimp cocktail but here they mix the cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. Was not a fan of that. I ordered a wedge salad but it came a stack of lettuce leaves, instead of a wedge. My wife ordered chicken parm. It was cold and the cheese was cold. She was able to pick the cheese up. For a place where the cost is between $75 to $100 a person, I should not have had to wipe my silverware to get them clean. The service was great.
Dinner Steak order medium rare received well done, sent back and go another steak that was Medium to Medium Well. Both steaks were very tough. Dinner Salad served with forks that were difficult to eat salad, they have salad forks but have been told they cannot use them (two different people told us this - very strange). The 50/50 appetizer, the clams under cooked and difficult to fully open (no seafood fork, needed to us our knives).
We had a great experience. Food quality was excellent along with a great wait staff. Very cool and classy decor. Can’t wait to come back for more !
I must say this place was quite good. We were really excited to try the smoked salmon dip as our appetizer. Our drinks came, our salads came, and then our entrees. We never received our appetizer so we just told the waitress to take it off the bill. Overall, it was really good and we will be back to try the dip.
The food is delicious no doubt! We had the steak and I was happy with it. The restaurant itself was nice and looked fancy. Everything was good just wished it wasn’t so expensive
Excellent service and a really nice atmosphere. My steak was cooked to perfection and very tender. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the brown gravy accompanying it. I would have preferred a seasoned cut without a sauce. The salad was excellent, as was the bread. For a place that's only been open a couple weeks everything was very smooth and professional. I'd recommend the place, but personally will order something other than the filet next time
Very good! So glad to get a higher end restaurant outside of the downtown area.
Great atmosphere, excellent food and drink. Very friendly staff and Management.
This is a lovely establishment. The decor promotes a quiet meal. The staff are attentive focused on providing a very nice experience. The food was good. However, it was not good enough for the prices. I had the stuffed pork chop, as was recommended on one of the other reviews. Unfortunately, mine was a bit dry. My husband had the shrimp scampi. He is not a lover of tart foods, yet he said there was not enough lemon flavor. Overall the food was good, bit a bit pricey for the quality. We spent $42.00 and only drank water.
Family dinner to celebrate a birthday, 3 days after open. I had anticipated a few kinks , but it seemed as though they had been opened for years. The space is immaculate with plenty of quiet areas to dine. The food was delicious (Veal Sinatra - 100%, try the Gorgonzola dip) and was reasonably priced for the quality. Our server Josh was attentive and friendly. We even had two young children with us, and the staff was great with them. Definitely fills a much-needed gap for the area!
My wife and I just ate here this evening and couldn't have been more pleased! The service was top notch and the food was wonderful! The ambiance of the restaurant also was great! The waiter Chris was super nice and attentive! The Director Ashley stopped by as well to make sure we were satisfied with our dining experience! We will definitely be back!
