What a hidden little gem!
Even the hotel is beautifully decorated!
The food was very good!
The service was very good!
Very nice decor-great concept!
Definitely go eat there-you’ll love it!
We will return!
Thanks everyone for a great experience!!
Great food and great service...will be back! Celebrating my wife and sons birthdays.
Service was OK because they were having a reunion in the bar area. food was good but slow to get there. May go back, may not.
Good food - nice place - service was a little slow
Heard about this Steakhouse from friends...What a great find, food was outstanding and well priced. This is one I will be coming back too quite often.
Impeccable food and service!
The steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly. Great service.
The service was good and staff friendly. Since, it was our anniversary, I ordered 2 glasses of sparkling wine on line when I made my reservations to be delivered as soon as we were seated. But, that did not happen. I told the waiter, but I had to order it again at the restaurant.
It was quiet and relaxing. I ordered my prime rib medium and it was more well done. No pink at all.
Over all it was an enjoyable evening.
We went for mother’s day brunch. For $50/person the food was not spectacular, but they did have a large variety of options. The atmosphere was less than appealing and we were not in the dining room. They had a large conference room with round top tables. I would not have booked here had I known this. Not personal at all and quite loud.
Mother’s Day brunch: breakfast food was bland but lunch food was awesome. Service was very good. Pretty good value for $50pp
Food was ok. Took a long time to get salad before the meal. Meal wasn’t anything spectacular.
The food was great as well as the service
Nice place however the bartender was rude, it seemed she’d rather catch up and chat with other employees. The atmosphere was nice and the food was good except for both steaks being over cooked. For a medium filet, no pink whatsoever. The flavor was good just over cooked.
Little slow get what you pay for on the food
Easter brunch. Food was excellent. Some of the best prime rib I have ever had. Everything was excellent. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
It may be good for a regular meal, but we were here for Easter brunch and it wasn’t good. Food was meh and we were seated in one of the conference rooms at the Holiday Inn (the restaurant is located inside.) Felt like a bad wedding reception, wish they had seated in the restaurant or at least noted this as we reserved—never again.
Easter Brunch Buffet was mmm, mmm, great! I could cut the prime rib with my fork!
Was referred by friends was a little apprehensive with the restaurant inside a Holiday Inn however pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was beautiful decor, lighting. Full bar, private tables or booths. Diverse menu, salads, appetizers, pasta, seafood and steaks. All was great tasting, service good.
Great food, drinks, and service at a great price! Highly recommend them for any occasion!
Waited almost five minutes for a hostess to come upfront to seat us. Server was very nice and knowledgeable. Steak was over cooked. Appetizers and entrees arrived promptly. Had to ask for drink refill.
We came to Johnny’s for a special date night. Overall service was great after one disgruntled table was handled and Dakotah was available to serve us. The calamari was excellent, better than we’ve had in a long time. Prime rib was flavorful, not as good as we had expected: served lukewarm and was dry, not juicy as we expected from Angus beef. Wine selection was fair and our Summer Cabernet was really good!
Our evening was wonderful. Our steaks were cooked exactly like we requested. My wife had the shrimp ravioli that was also delicious and one of our friends had the chicken that was perfect.
The service was some of the best I ever had and the manager came by a few times to make sure everything was to our satisfaction.
My wife and I dined there for a belated Valentine's day dinner. The food and the service were very good. The manager went from table to table introducing himself. The happy hour appetizers and the drinks were very good. I would definitely recommend.
Found this place on Yelp while I was in town visiting friends. I was nervous when I pulled up, it is in a Holiday Inn, but that was not necessary. We were given a nice table in a closed off area, perfect for catching up with friends. Our server was great and very attentive. The food was fantastic and worth every penny. We had the salmon, filet mignon, prime rib, seafood ravioli pasta and a shrimp dish. We also had every dessert except the cheesecake and sausage stuffed mushrooms. There was not one complaint and everyone left very pleased! The manager stopped by our table during the meal to ensure our satisfaction as well. I would definitely do back if I get back to Houston!
1/. Did not fill our Special Open Table request
2/. Poor steak quality
3/. Good service
Valentine’s Day dinner. Delay in seating, they blamed Open Table for double booking. Long wait for drinks at the bar. Lasagna was below average. Green peppers inside was an unpleasant surprise. Sauce was subpar. Appetizers were good, toasted ravioli. Salad with iceberg lettuce, really?
They we're not prepared for our reservation and were two deep in the bar while the owner just hung out drinking.
The Manager was great, as was the waiter. My mom had an issue with her food and they took care of it immediately. Things can always go weong but the manager took care of it with empathy and class. We will return.
Good steak. Lobster tail was bad! Very dry. Couldn’t get it out of shell
The food was good but the service was not. There was only one waitress for the restaurant and a bartender. It took a long time for the waitress to bring the food and the drinks where refilled only one time.
I had been to Johnny's about a year ago with friends. At that time the service and food was excellent. I did not have that same impression this time though. We made a reservation for 6:30 and were seated immediately. We waited several minutes for someone to take our drink order. It took 23 minutes from the time we sat down until our drinks arrived. My martini came first and my wife had to wait several more minutes to get her Italian margarita. The food, when it arrived was not as hot as it should be. We both had baked potatoes (loaded) and they were almost cold. By the time you added condiments like sour cream, it was really not hot at all. The server was quite cordial and prepared our leftovers to take home and even included a fresh loaf of bread with dipping oil and parmesan cheese. The taste and portion sizes of the food were quite good though.
Not sure I'll be back soon. Will monitor reviews to see if things improve.
My first dining experience was lovely. The service was stellar. My lasagna was so comforting and flavorful. I will definitely return to try the many other enticing dishes. If I may offer some constructive feedback ... the Caesar salad was flavorless. I honestly couldn’t taste any of the classic Caesar elements ... garlic, parmesan, anchovy, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Worcestershire.
Christine was an excellent server. Food was outstanding. Ambience was very pleasant and noise level perfect for conversation. Will definitely be back!
Despite being located in a Holiday Inn, this is a Real steakhouse with excellent food, affordable prices and an outstanding wait staff. Christine was a very pleasant and attentive waitress who took very good care of us. We had beef filet and stuffed snapper. Both dishes were well prepared and filling. We plan to dine here again.
We took friends here because it had been good the last time we were there. Not this time! Slow service. Food was good but only warm, not hot. Manager offered 1 free dessert for the 3 lukewarm French onion soups we had. But all desserts were charged on the bill.
I wish someone had told us first that this restaurant would close early on Dic. 31, and there was no Sunday buffet , only a la carte. There was no mention of this on the website nor anyone disclosed this information when I called to change my reservation.
The sandwiches were good tasting, and I reserve the right to try it a second time before I pass judgement .
i do not have enough good things to say about this place and its service. So odd that it is inside a holiday inn but pay no mind to it because it is a hidden gem. the food was outstanding and service great as well. i do want to point out how the manager at the table was so helpful when i went to eat with my family. My 7 year old daughter was not feeling well so he saw that and offered his assistance in finding some medicine. when he couldnt find anything he offered to go to walgreens for us and was dead serious about it. My wife and I were floored at how kind this gentleman was and how he was willing to go out of his way to help my daughter so that my family and i would be able to eat. I did not allow him to go and went myself but had to point out how amazing his service it.
I can’t state enough how much of a hidden gem this is. I can’t believe it’s inside of the holiday inn but pay no mind. It’s a very nice restaurant with great ambiance. You will not feel like you are in a hotel at all and food is outstanding. Service is great but The manager was even better. My 7 year old wasn’t feeling well and he offered to go to Walgreens for medicine. Now that is service. Of course I declined and went myself but the fact he offered showed how much he cared for his patrons. Highly recommend!!
Johnny's Italian Steakhouse has taken over our number 1 position for a great steak or amazing pasta. We have always left feeling as if we were treated to some of the best dining the Houston area has to offer!
My wife and I were there on our 7th anniversary. We were not generated at the reservations table and waited there for 5 minutes. Finally when we were greeted, we were not seated right away. Finally we were seated and then we waited. That was the theme of the evening, waiting. We waited for drinks. We waited to place our order. We waited for drinks again. We waited to tell our waiter there was a problem because he dropped off our appetizer and then disappeared for 20 minutes. Then finally someone else stopped by and was able to help us. Then we waited for our order. And then more drinks and then finally 20 minutes to see a dessert tray and. A dinner that should have taken 1- 1.25 hr max, because knew what we were ordering before we even got there, took 2.25 hours.
