Johnny's Italian Steakhouse - Peoria
We were very disappointed. The shrimp and lobster were inedible in both our meals. Manager said "it's that time of year...the seafood gets funky". They traded out one meal but still charged us for the new one. We were offered one free dessert. Will not be going back.
We ave eaten there many times. Coulton is an excellent waiter, food was good, was quiet on the Monday evening. Our only disappointment was that my sister had a hard time cutting her sirloin steak, might want to have sharper knives for this type of steak.
Everything was nice. Not exceptional but nice.
My wife and I had a very pleasant dining experience. We will come again!
The food was great and our server, Max, made our dining experience phenomenal. Always a good meal at Johnnys!
Date night with great food and atmosphere. Really enjoyed the place!
My husband and were meeting friends we had not seen in 15 months on Saturday, March 2 nd. We all had enjoyed eating at Johnny’s in the past. We were cheerfully greeted and seated within 5 minutes of arrival at our reservation time. Although we were greeted by our waiter almost immediately for drink orders, we did not receive even water for 10 minutes and our drinks did not arrive for at least 15 minutes. Our waiter apologized for the back up in the bar.
We proceeded to order our food. The special for the night, prime rib, was already exhausted. I ordered the red snapper stuff with crab/shrimp. I had had this before an enjoyed it. It was cold, greasy, tough and dry from over cooked. I needed a knife to cut it. My husband had the rib eye. It was stated as an 11 oz cut in the menu and appeared to be only the thickness of a breakfast steak. There is no possible way this was an 11 oz steak. Our guest had a filet... very small, and also an entree Waldorf salad.
I did not discuss with them their opinion of their meal selections. I was too embarrassed to ask.
I’m not sure we will consider this a good dinner option in the future. Not the same as we remembered it! Really too bad!
Service wasn’t that great. It was the worst service we’ve had. Waitress took forever to get our drink order. Took forever to get our food order. The food was outstanding as usual. The new bartender made it pleasant. She was hustling and always made sure to smile at me. Cutie pie. We love it there, but this time wasn’t that great.
Reserved at last minute and got a bar table...ended up being so much fun! The bar tables are Engel at and it’s great people watching ❤️
We had a nice time coming to see my son in college!!!
We had had a great evening!. The food was good and the service excellent! Johnny's is a LGBT accepting environment.
Perfect. Great food. It's one restaurant where I have trouble choosing my meal because there are so many good choices. Sarah has waited on us for years and does a great job. Wonderful desserts too.
Our server max was so nice and very helpful. He did an amazing job with providing feedback and selections. Overall it was the perfect night
Typically, Johnny's Italian Steakhouse is exceptional. Although, my last dining experience was far from that. They mixed up the cooking of our steaks, put the wrong dressing on my salad, and forgot to add ingredients to my salad. Overall we were disappointed with our experience Saturday evening.
Fantastic food and excellent service. It was a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to come back.
Food was ok but not exceptional for the money. Service was ok but for the price definitely could have been better waitress was not attentive.
Normal service for high end steakhouse: water and silver standard but had to be brought and asked for st the table, asking to take used dishes should not have had to ask. I should not have had to ask for fresh silver after using 1 of the 2 forks for appetizer. I may go back but will try some of the other steak houses in town.
Colton was an excellent server! The food was excellent, and making a reservation is recommended.
My wife and I went here for Valentines Day. Service was superb! My wife had cedar plank salmon and I had a parmesan crusted New York strip. We had scallops for an appetizer. The food was excellent. Too stuffed for desert! Definitely a great place for a special occasion!
Amazing! Best place we’ve been for Valentine’s Day. And we’ve been to much fancier and Pricier places and the food and service was not as good as here. PLUS we just moved to the area and felt right at home
We shared our Valentine's dinner at the steakhouse. We were pleased with everything. Our server, Katie was kind and attentive. The steak was awesome. A very good night. We will make as often as time and cash allow. Worth it in my opinion.
Your cheesecake is to "die for" and the service good.
Spent a Sunday afternoon at lunch with some old friends. Food was excellent, the service impeccable, and the value for a buck well done. I will be back for lunch and dinner.
Overall great experience. Food and service were top notch
I made a reservation a week in advance and was sat at the table nearest to the door and we froze during our 70 minutes or so that we sat at our table. Tim took forever to get us our water and then we sat for almost 20 minutes waiting to be asked what we'd like to eat after that. Wasn't impressed with the service a "high caliber " steakhouse should have. Food was good, but can get steak and pasta for $51.00 at a lot of other places around and not have to deal with OK service but fantastic service .
The service was extremely slow. We were in our booth for over two hours. It seemed to take forever to be served our meal. We wanted dessert but didn’t want to wait another hour for that.
Service was wonderful. Very friendly and well trained. Food was wonderful but we didn't like the salad. We were next to a party of about 12 people though that were very noisy. They had a little boy running around and he hit me in the head with a balloon. Made it very hard for us to enjoy our meal.
Great service on a busy night was appreciated. Did not have enough menus when we were seated so we had to wait and the lobster bisque left a bit to be desired. Other than that everything else was excellent.
Even though there were only 1 or 2 tables of diners besides ourselves, service was not that great. It took a really long time to get refills on tea and coffee. No one checked back to see if we wanted refills on salad. Had we known how long our food (salmon and a pork chop) would take, we would have had more salad. When meals finally came, I had to send my meal back because pork chop was pink. My dining companion was almost done with his meal when I got mine back. Prices on the Internet menu were between $2-$5 lower than what the in - restaurant menu showed. Nice place but improvements needed.
Semi-formal dinner out for the family. Food and service was excellent. We kept the table for a couple of hours and never felt rushed to depart. Really enjoyed the evening.
Nice room. Food was very good. Service was a little slow. Never refilled waters. We will go back again.
Mr. Max was an amazing server. We never felt rushed during our meal. The French onion soup was one of my top 5 ever. We would dine here again whenever we are back in town.
Wonderful dinner experience. I took my parents to dinner to my mothers birthday and also their wedding anniversary on the same date of 1-22. Wait staff was professional and friendly. Our server (Emily?) knew we were going to a concert after dinner so she ensured our meals were presented in a timely fashion. At the end of our meal she offered complimentary dessert for the special occasion that we unfortunately did not have time to enjoy so she offered and wrapped up the dessert to go for us to enjoy later. All of our meals were delicious and cooked perfectly. Atmosphere was very nice with an upscale feel.
The food was amazing. I had some of the best lobster mac n cheese ever. The waitress we had however, was unfriendly and gave an overall uncomfortable vibe. She paused for long periods of time when speaking with us. She also spilled water on me when filling up my glass. I know no one is perfect, but it did seem unprofessional. She may have just been having a bad night.
Took my boyfriend for his birthday dinner, everything was enjoyable from the receptionist, to the waitress, and the food. We wanted to change tables to a more reserved one and they were very helpful and accommodating. Would definetly come back. PS try their zucchini fries.
We had mad a reservation on here but they did not have it when we arrived. They still quickly had us seated. We were in the bar area which was fine and the waiter came over very quickly but then got very busy behind the bar. He “hollered” over to us to ask if we wanted a app. He eventually had someone bring us a couple waters and about 15 minutes later I went to the bar to order us a couple drinks. The only other complaint I would have would be that there was a drunk girl on other side of the bar who was extremely loud and was cursing loudly. Not really what I wanted to hear during my Anniversary dinner. Food wise.. excellent
The service at this place is impeccable! Max, our server, was attentive and timely. The food is excellent, and our Parmesan Encrusted New York Strip was cooked to perfection. It's a great place for a birthday celebration!
Delicious food and great time!
We chose Johnny's to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. Our server, Amy, was very nice and knowledgeable. We enjoyed meeting and talking with her. As usual, the food was excellent! We had a very nice, quiet anniversary meal.
Steaks were not cooked as ordered and my prime rib was cold. This will be my last visit.
Good food and very good service. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
