Johnny's Italian Steakhouse - Moline
Would have drank more if the service came around more often. Bar was slow. Wife's food was cold. My food was over done. Steak came medium instead of medium rare. Crust on steak was dark brown near burnt. I probably won't be going here again.
Didn’t like getting salad in a bowl and having to divide it between two people who ordered the same kind of salad.
One persons steak sirloin was tough.
Large appetizer of mushrooms and sausage was too small for the extra cost.
We had reservations for two. We were seated in a area that had three tables. There were three couples. One table had a tablecloth and the other two did not they were large and difficult to talk to each other across the table. We were treated as a group and all the food brought out at the same time, even though we didn’t order together. By the time we received our food it was cold.
Plan a head and got a reservation days ahead and the stuck me at a table in the bar which sucks should of gotten s booth had to be sitting with another table less than a foot from me just would think getting a rsvp I would be placed in a booth. I had the special and was very disappointed had the same thing the time I went before and it was totally two different dinners. It will be a while before I come back
We celebrated our Anniversary with another couple. Very nice evening
Our reservation was at 7:30, which we arrived and checked in just a few minutes prior to 7:30. Several parties arrived after us checking in with 7:30 reservations as well and were ALL seated before us. We were seated and ordered drinks and an appetizer. Appetizer (chips & Gorgonzola) chips were cold and didn’t taste fresh, cheese was hot and good. We had 3 different wait staff wait on us, that didn’t communicate well with each other- my husband waiting on his drink to be refilled, which never arrived until he asked again when our food arrived. All the while hardly being checked on, but we watched the tables around us being catered to non stop. Tables that were seated after us, ate and were done long before us. Seems we were forgotten. The noise level was ok except for all the crashing dishes and wine bottles around us, 3 different times to be exact.
I had Johnny’s Minnelli with garlic shrimp and my husband had the drunken steak which were both delicious. The food was good, and each wait staff that waited on us was very friendly but the rest of the experience was not as great as other customers received.
Good food, service was ok not a fan of the open kitchen. We had a table right at the start of it so we stared at dirty dishes throughout our dinner and listening to workers gossip. Great food just would have been a 5 star if atomosphere was better.
I can’t belive the service I have received on my birthday celebration at this “high end” place.
First, the hostess was rude. We reserved the table for 4 and it wasn’t ready when we arrived. Hostess responded :” do you want me to physically remove people from the table?” That’s was uncalled for. Very rude. If the restaurant classy, why hostesses looked like a fast food chain workers? The hair messy and dirty, exposed chest and extremely short too tight of the dress..not classy at all. When we got to the table there were another available one right next to it. The cheese jar on the table for bread dipping was almost empty and it took sometime for waitress to come to us each time we had to ask her a question or to bring something. Service was so slow. Most of the time we were out of the water.. another server (the older gentleman ) helped us out because our waitress was no where near and took too long each time to check on us. We ate so much bread because food took forever to arrive. $38 steak was wrong. Asked for medium rare and it came in very medium.. again, we had to ask for assistance from the waiter who was assisting other table. The salmon we got was cooked too fast and you could see the White stuff coming out of it... 😒 sitting there and being done with the food we were waiting forever for a birthday desert. A few deserts passed by with candles... the waitress finally brought me one but yet she said they run out of candles.. was very disappointed. Yet still have no water and sitting and waiting for her to come to our table. Luckily she have found one candle, asked to bring a bag for a to-go box yet brought us check and forgot about a bag, so we had to remind to bring it please. I didn’t enjoy my dinner, waited most of the night, was thirsty and irritated with service... Came here in multiple occasions in a past and couldn’t believe how crappy we were treated while paying for a service. We should of tipped the other waiter instead.
Not coming back again .
My steak I ordered was to be medium rare, and it was in the center but more well on the outer part. The earliest reservation offered was at 6:30 p.m. and because I placed the reservation online I suppose that's how early reservations could be set. From my view when we arrived the restaurant was mostly empty.
Great ambiance, great food! We went with a big group, very good service. 100% recommended!
Ambiance is excellent but food average. Service was wonderful.
In town with friends to see a show at Taxslayer Center and wanted to dine in the area. Johnnys is right across the street. It was fabulous! We all enjoyed our meals, service was top notch and prices were very reasonable.
I was seated by the kitchen in which was extremely loud. Then a waiter dropped a whole tray of glasses next to our table and glass went everywhere. I also had to send my favorite meal back because it was so burnt. Outlet waitress also spilled our wine on the table and the service was mediocre. The quality of the food seems to not be what it used to. This really saddened me as it used to be my favorite place to eat.
We had two birthdays to celebrate within two weeks and both were on Sunday evening. Not only is Johnny's a nice place to dine for special events but the food is wonderful, the service is great AND it is open on Sunday evening. The only small negative was being seated so close to another table so our conversations got a bit mixed at times.
Another great meal accompanied with great service and ambiance.
Always a pleasant experience. This visit was unique in that we were the only table in our area. Pretty quiet after the holidays but everything was great as usual.
I have been here countless times. Always great food and service. The executive chef, Mark Pilochowski has his kitchen running like a well oiled machine. And Jack Viviani, the manager/partner, is a master at keeping the right people in the right position. About as good as it gets!
We enjoyed a very good meal (planked salmon and crusted steak and stuffed shrimp) from the salad to the entrees. We very much appreciate the quiet ambiance, efficient staff & the music.
Food was amazing as always. Just a good experience all together.
Perfect seating and outstanding waitress. Excellent cuisine
Always exceptional, great for special occasions. The food and the service is always great.
This was our first visit to the restaurant, we had an early dinner for New Year's Eve (dinner reservations were full). The ease in getting there and parking were good. The mood in the restaurant was super - quiet and not so bright. The waiter was SPECTACULAR! Very friendly, offered suggestions, checked on us throughout the meal (not overbearing), courteous and attentive - thank you to him for a nice evening. The restaurant appearance was very clean and organized; all the employees appeared to have a need to be there (they weren't just standing around) given it was New Year's and I suspect the restaurant was set to be quite busy. We ordered steaks and well done at that, hard to do but the chef did SUPER! I saw no pink at all - just the way I like it. I was prepared to spend quite a bit more than I had to, so was pleasantly surprised at that. I will definitely recommend and will plan to return.
I took my wife and my mom out to lunch one Saturday. My mom and I loved the meat loaf and my wife loved the salmon. Nice an quiet and relaxing. Saturday was not our anniversary but my wife and I go to Johnny's for our anniversary every year. I try to order something different every time. Always had a great meal at a reasonable price.
Classy place with exceptional dishes!
Everything we had was delicious. Steak, veal, brussel sprouts, stuffed mushrooms, zucchini fries, bread, mashed potatoes, and desserts. The wait staff were lovely as well.
Arrived slightly early to our reservation time and was seated right away. Waiter was extremely nice and cordial as he advised us of the house specialties of the evening. Took our cocktail orders while we contemplated the menu. Throughout the meal, we were not rushed, and the waiter created great banter as he was extremely busy. We ordered appetizers that came with little hesitation, followed timely by our salads and dinners. As always, the meal was prepared to our liking. It was cooked according to our requested doneness. The meals were delivered hot right out of the kitchen. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff and the meal. At the end the waiter said dessert was on him as he had enjoyed the engagement and energy of our table. Needless to say, he received an above normal tip. We will return.
Our meal was the worst meal that we ever had at this restaurant. The waiter had all the prime rib at the place on the table. My steak was cold and so was the French frys. I will probably not be back.
Great food and service as always. Expensive, but worth it!
I have been here numerous times with clients and it is always top notch
Waited over 25 minutes after being seated. No waiter, no water. Had to flag down a waiter to get service. Waiter was polite and apologetic. Subsequent service was also slow. But food was good. Unusual service level. I eat at Johnny’s often and usually have good response time/service.
Food was great. Busy Saturday evening. Hostess / wait staff not on top of their game that day. Seated, waited 15 minutes for a waiter, got out drink orders, brought them back wrong, then brought the bread. Dropped off the bread with no plates, and no flatware and no napkins. I actually had to get our own sets of flatware because the next time we saw him was another 15 minutes. Johnnie's trio was overcooked for my order, but I ate it because I didnt want to wait another 20 minutes for it to be fixed. Even so, they were good (hard to really mess up a filet).
Enjoyed the dining experience at Johnny's. Was able to introduce a new friend to the establishment. The best part for us was simply our own company. The waitress who greeted us was wearing inappropriate attire with her jeans that would have been suited to a night club, holey jean situation.
Great place to go eat. Love being able to make reservations online. Made checking in a breeze.
I love the atmosphere and decor. The Frank Sinatra music playing is a great addition. The filet was excellent as was the bread.
Had early reservations. Was stuck in bar area when plenty of open tables were available. Was told they were reserved. I guess for more important customers than me and my wife (as I had reservation as well).
Skip the house salad (not very good) and spring for one of the upgrades. I learned my lesson...
Request not to be seated in bar
Service was terrible. Took 20 minutes each time to get a drink. Steak was overdone but other that it was ok.
The actual dinner was great. I had made special arrangements that dinner be brought out at 5:30 for our 5:15 reservation. I had made special effort to pre-order so we could avoid the wait of cooking. The waiter finally found our order, but nothing was made and we had to wait the normal amount of time for dinner service.
We had an extremely disappointing experience the when I took my 14 year old daughter to show her what a "nice restaurant" is all about.
The evening started by being shown to a dirty table where we waited for it to be bussed. We waited about 10 minutes to see our waitress and place or drink order. We eventually got a water and a Sprite served in bar glasses because they were out of tall glasses. They were refilled our drinks 1 time & when that happened our waitress took our glasses for a good 5 minutes. By the time we left we had nothing to drink and the first thing I did when we left was get a drink.
Now for the food: the bread was delicious, but when I opened my napkin I found that all I had was a butter knife, no fork. The waitress apologized but never brought anymore silverware. I used one of my daughter's forks. Our food finally came out 1 hour and 15 minutes after we ordered it and it was very good except for the burnt ends on my chicken parmesan. We are it so fast that we didn't really enjoy it though because by that time we were late for our show.
Love the food and the location. This is our must place to go before a show across the street. Staff is friendly and always take care of any issues that may arise.
Dinner was great....just like always.
Service was great...just like always.
