   Met with champagne and Italian doughnuts at the door, the over the top hospitality and service began and didn’t end until we left. We are not much on crowds, but would definitely brave the shipyard area again to dine at Joey Shipyard! By far the best meal in B.C. we had on our trip. The beef carpaccio was on point with what you’d find in Tuscany or a Michelin starred restaurant. The steak and sushi combo seemed odd at first, but was literally paired perfection. The Tuna Poke Bowl scrumptious! Our server, Thomas was attentive, kind, and wonderful at making our experience the best possible. The vibe was set with upbeat music and an upbeat, hustling staff that seemed to care about every customer dining. Bravo Joey!

   We go repeatedly to Joey's at the Shipyards because the food is delicious and well presented, and the service is always outstanding -- to the point where we can ask for a server by name. The noise level, however, means that we don't give it 5 stars. Twice, we have had to ask for the music to be turned down considerably. When music is unreasonably loud, as it certainly was today and on our previous visit, the voices of everyone else get louder too, including the hordes of small children at neighbouring tables. Frankly, it's horrible! We go to enjoy conversation with friends over excellent food. It's even worse at night. Does the Joey's management REALLY believe that overwhelmingly loud music makes a better vibe for all diners? How can that noise level possibly foster an intimate, relaxing experience, whether one is on a first date or (like us) quietly celebrating the 20th anniversary of our first meeting? We will be back, for all the other reasons, and also, we will continue to ask for the music to be turned down to the point where it truly is background music.

   We had a fabulous experience, the food and wine excellent, great view and doors at the front were open .

   お料理、内装、音楽どれもとても良かったです。店員さんもホスピタリティがありました。テラス席をご用意頂きましたが、海と夜景が見られて綺麗でした。とても良い旅行になりました。

   I was very disappointed that I didn’t get the table I requested. My beef dip sliders must have sat for awhile before getting to my table as it was not hot but lukewarm. My guest’s cod and rice were hot but the fish was dry and neither had any flavouring. The sauce for the fish poured like water and it was also tasteless. I’ve been to Joeys twice before and absolutely loved it and brought my friend especially to show her but was very disappointed and a little embarrassed. The noise level was terrible due to a table full of men that should have been at a bar instead of a restaurant and a couple of screaming kids at a nearby table. It could have been because it was a Friday night but all in all, I was not impressed.

   Nothing beats the views and the location! The food is always pretty good and service great.

   We sat in the upper patio. Gorgeous view. Food was lovely and service great. We were not rushed.

   We waited for a patio table to catch the sunset and got one with a great view. Food was amazing, especially the ceviche and the crab dip. Had a great time! Our server was the only one whose passive aggressive attitude throughout dampened the moods a little. She didn’t bother refilling water even if our glasses sat empty for straight 30 mins. Even at the end of the night when we were paying our bill, she kept up with snarky remarks during the small talk. I’m hoping she behaved this way because she was just having a bad day and it was not something else.

    The perfect night. We requested seats out on the patio and had the perfect table. Food was amazing and service was great!
