   Haven’t been to Joey’s in ages, until tonight. Had great service from (primarily) Martina, who was so sweet, and Griffin, at Joey’s Sherway. We had one person in our group of three who had an allergy, and Martina was very knowledgeable about the ingredients and when she didn’t know the answer, she made sure to ask to accommodate the allergy. We started with apps: Miso Roasted Mushrooms, Korean Fried Cauliflower and Szechuan Chicken Lettuce Wraps, which were all tasty. For mains, we had Oven Roasted Wild Cod, Katsu Chicken Salad and the Hand-Pressed Burger. The portions were generous, and there is a wide variety of menu items to suit varying dietary needs. I would recommend a reservation as it gets very busy at this location. Would definitely return to this location. My only issue is that before I made the reservation I tried to call the restaurant to inquire about something, and they didn’t answer the phone. I called about 4x, before someone answered the phone. That’s the only reason I took one star off for “service” (nothing to do with Martina or Griffin).

   Our server was Valentina, absolutely top notch service, she was pleasant, not bugging us but always there to help. She didn't rush us which I appreciate a lot. Thank you Valentina beautiful and kind person

   As someone who has worked in restaurants before, this visit was extremely disappointing. To start, the service was terrible. Our server made it seem like she didn’t want to be there. First issue was after we had our apps, rather than offering fresh cutlery she was like you want to put them on the table, until your mains come out. We should have either been given fresh cutlery or asked if we wanted fresh cutlery. Then when the mains came out, the steak was cold. I let her know and she sent it back. However, she did not follow up on the steak until after I had asked almost 20 mins later. Her response to us was the kitchen got busy out of no where I’ll go check on it and ask them to make it a priority. Usually, when it’s a refire, it should be made a priority, and the server should be following up. We could see it sitting on the hotplate but the server was nowhere to be found. When it came out the second time it was Lukewarm. This last experience really put me off of Joeys. It’s never been a good experience and I most likely will not be returning.

   Staff should be more engaged and attentive rather than chit chatting at the bar! We had to waive our server down a few times and another server had to attend to us.

    This reservation at Joey Sherway was for a birthday celebration which the staff claimed that they did not know. It was clearly stated in the reservation made. They did not acknowledge the birthday for the special person. Overall, very disappointing.
