I gave all poor ratings because it was the only way to get to this comment page, I made a reservation on Open Table for last Tuesday. After driving for 35 minutes to get to Joey Harrison's the restaurant was closed. I don't understand how you can make a reservation and the restaurant isn't even open?????
We went on Sunday for our 18th Wedding Anniversary...great atmosphere, friendly staff and the food was great!
We will definitely be going back!
The food and service were very good but they were very busy and the food took a very long time.
I gave it 4 Stars because overall it is usually it hits the mark. The food is great, music and outdoor ambiance is too.
We got there by 5:30 on a Friday. We had a reservation, and chose to sit inside. It took a long time to get our drinks. And then had to ask for water a few times. The food was very good, but the shrimp ambrosia was overloaded with pasta.
Our waitress was moving as fast as she could, having to go between inside and top upper deck.
We are locals and should know better than to go on the weekend. All in all we will return.
Service and food was excellent.
Our server Melissa could not have been more accompanying. We were seated outside and it became too sunny even with umbrellas so Melisss graciously moved us indoors for coffee and dessert.
Need better shade for dinning outside.
Food could be better.
Nice water views.
Great spot. Terrific live music, varied menu, beautiful setting. We’ll be back.
Beautiful view of the marina...food was delicious and our waiter was very pleasant and attentive. Definitely will be coming back...
I had outside reservation that I called and moved inside. When arriving they didn’t have any knowledge of me changing it. They said 15 mins for inside. 20 mins went by and I was told at that point they had table outside available. I responded didn’t want outside. He said well if you still want inside it will be another 20 more mins or so! This is just unacceptable! Thank god my group was ok with just taking a high counter right behind bar that we had to squish at. Our waiter was never available and manager response to this was it was hot so a lot of people changed to inside( well if u can’t accomadate the reservation then you tell the customer!) I will never make reservation there again! It’s nice too go for drinks and the view though.
Music was nice. Flounder franchise wAs bland, but appetizers are great. Live the spicy mussels!
This restaurant has changed management more times than I can count. Consistently disappointing
Great summer spot!!
Great food with outdoor seating and music! Love the beach in front of the band. Next time we will take the boat there 😎
Loved sitting outside. Band was good. Blue Moons were cold. Try the shrimp scampi pizza!!
They were ready for us, by having the table setup with menu's and silverware. The umbrella was open and shading the table and the food came prepared the way we like it. Always have a good time at this location!!
Good food but after being seated, waited about 15 mins before I had to go ask for a waitress - we had a reservation so they were expecting us.
Horrible food and poorly managed.
Food was excellent.
Service is usually great but below par today.
Had a beautiful table upstairs, great music, however our server did not get our drink order for 25 minutes, we were sat at 730 and our food came out (apps sushi and dinner) at 945pm, our order was given by 8 pm. Food was really good but our waiter was no( apologetic and kept saying he was slammed, but all tables that came after continued getting their food. We made it apparent to a manager who replied she would check on the kitchen.
Good time and good food, initial greet at the table was a little slow, but overall a good time with good live music!
Very disappointed. Never got our appetizer. Drinks and dinner took forever. Tables near us got their food and drinks long before us when They were seated well after us. Not well organized and after all that food was disappointing. Nice location but we will not go back.
Our 1st time at Joey Harrison's River House was Fantastic. The Hostess and owner seated us outside (upper level) as we requested. It was a bit too windy and we asked to change our seating to indoors. They found, cleared, and prepared a space for us with smiles and no attitudes. ( they were very busy but took the time to accommodate us ). The atmosphere is great, The food is great, and the staff is great. Our Waiter David Goodger went above and beyond to satisfy our needs while waiting on us inside and working his usual tables outside. We definitely found our new summer dining place at the shore.
The problem was we had a new waitress and she told us that the drinks we were having were $6 or 7 when we received the bill the drinks were actually $9 each this is something that a waitress or waiter should know and not give out the wrong information. So we were a little disappointed with that overall we had a nice time.
Our reservation was for 7, got seated after waiting for someone to even acknowledge us. Waitress came over asked what we wanted to drink, didn’t see her for 35 min later. Finally took our order, ordered another round of drinks she only came back with one. Food was ok. It was so loud in there I felt like I was in a cafeteria could not have a decent conversation. We were celebrating our Anniversary was not enjoyable. We will not be back!
Easter meal dining upstairs with mainly adults. Separate from kids egg hunt.
Only one waitress. Very crowded, very loud had to holler to talk to family. Fish and chips were burnt. It was my birthday and wanted to give the place a try. Very disappointed. Waitress was overwhelmed with no help. Will not return. Husband had to walk to bar to get a beer. No bread with meal. People were bumping into my husband and son in-law. People carrying chairs over there head behind my husband. Not the waitress’s fault very poorly run. We go out to dinner every year for my birthday. My daughter came home from college an hour away and I felt bad because this was the only birthday dinner we did not enjoy.
We two were first time visitors. We went on a Wednesday and it wasn't crowded. There was a bartender and one waitress on staff so the service had a slow start but the staff were excellent. The food was excellent (cajun seared fish, burger, Manhattan clam chowder), house cabernet for $5 a glass was Canyon River (excellent). There was mostly an over the age of 60 years crowd at first but then the 20-30 somethings came in. Great view of the river, lots of windows. Going back with friends this week!!
Bob b who wrote 10 reviews and gave it 5 stars on ever one must be related to the owner. Terrible
Food was good, service was very good but Sunday is not good if your looking for a nice dinner & some quiet conversation. It was bingo night, so between shouting out numbers & loud music we couldn’t hear anyone talk. Won’t go back on Sunday anymore. Might try again another night.
Had to send my scallops back weren’t good ———————-///—-
I noticed that the food was not as good this time I was here. Last time in the summer the food was a lot better.
Garlic clams and caesar salad were very good, but our seafood entrees were overloaded with pasta. Service was pretty good though. The restaurant and noisy bar share one large room on the 2nd floor (no elevator could be seen). The parking lot is in disrepair.
We had a very nice time, it was early dinner hour so it was pretty quiet. We had multiple appetizers to share, and then dessert and drinks. The service was excellent and the staff was friendly. A nice local place to hang out and have a really good meal.
My first time at the place and I was pleasantly surprised. Forked River is not much on good restaurants. Our server was delightful. I chose Salmon Picatta from the specials and it melted in my mouth.
Band was very loud, no place that was quiet inside.
If you want to have a burger and a beer while listening to the music, this place is for you!
Great spot to dock and dine. Food is good, the views are great. Has plenty of space to sit outside on a nice day.
3 out of the 4 of us the Shrimp Parmigiana and we all agreed that it was very good!! My husband had the Sushi and he said it was good! Our waitress was very good even though she told us she had only been there 3 weeks!
Great place. I go every week
Nice place, friendly staff, good food and great view.
