   Came here for my birthday celebration as I’ve really been wanting to try this place out. Everyone was super nice. And the place was not busy. But for some reason, the service was incredibly slow. I do think that the waiter might’ve gotten a couple of tables seated at one time. But we had to track him down a couple of times just to get a refill of water.  Then the food came and I feel like it must’ve been sitting up there for a while because our food was a little cold. When I asked him about it, he said that it’s supposed to be, but I ordered a steak with the Bianca pasta. I don’t know why that would’ve been served a little cold ever. So I tried to eat it, but then I finally asked him if he could please have them warm it up. They did but then of course, then it was a little overdone. They didn’t offer to do anything about that. I didn’t ask him to do anything about it because for good service you would think that they would extend some kind of an offer. Plus, Who wants to make a stink on the day of celebration. You would just hope it would come naturally from the restaurant. And then at the end, I think we waited another 15 minutes after the dessert to track him down again to just get our bill. I know his name but I’m not gonna share it just because he was a lovely human being and I’m not sure if the way the tables are being sat or if they were shorthanded that day is truly his fault. But I was disappointed enough that I don’t know if I’ll be back in time. However, the convenience of this restaurant having the parking lot of where you don’t have to pay and the ambience of this restaurant and the music at the volume where you can talk with friends really has a potential to be a nice restaurant. I’m bummed I was so disappointed, especially when I had been so excited to go here and chose to do it on my birthday.

   Luna greeting us, she was super nice! They gave us a complementary sparkling wine at the entrance. We loved this place, the food was amazing! The team is really nice. Chanel was a great server!

   This was my second time at JOEY Aventura. The first time was great, but my most recent visit had room for improvement. The quality of the food is not the issue - however, it seems that service is lacking. While our waitress was nice, there were multiple instances of deliberate upselling without telling us, leaving us feeling “tricked.” For example, we asked for water and she said flat or sparkling (omitting the option for tap aka the free option). A small bottled water for the table that we didn’t realize we purchased cost 10 dollars. When a member of our party ordered the steak & sushi, she asked if she wanted the filet or ny strip, making it sound like we had the choice between those two options. Even a small upsell would be fine, but failing to disclose that a filet would be $33 extra dollars onto an already $39 meal feels slimy. The menu items is pushing the price limit as it is and does feel expensive for the food/portions that you get. In the end, all was fine because we caught this and the restaurant worked to make it right, but it seemed that similar issues were happening all night to the tables around us. It doesn’t feel good to be dining at a restaurant and feeling like you have to keep an eye out for hidden charges. It feels like you are being scammed and is quite honestly, tacky. Great food and atmosphere but it seems the service approach should perhaps be revisited and reformed.

   Julian was very attentive and made our experience very enjoyable. The food was great although one of the guests did not like what she ordered, it still didn’t deter from a very good experience. She decided not to ask for a replacement, FYI. Will definitely come back, as I have before.

   Yesterday was not my best experience at joeys! I’ve been to about 3 of them in different cities and the service was terrible! I waited almost 20 when switching tables for the new server to come and when giving the menus to check for drinks didn’t get a return from him until after 20 mins again!

   Rachel, our server for lunch made our experience wonderful, along with the rest of the team at Joey. From the Prosecco and warm greeting by the hostess, to the way the manager handled a small hiccup with one of the dishes, was top drawer.

    I visited Joey's in Aventura this past Sunday for the second time with my sister, and overall, it was another enjoyable dining experience—with a few mixed feelings regarding an incident. To start, I really love the complimentary bubbles offered upon entry. It was such a refreshing touch, especially on a hot day. Our server, Rachel, was absolutely phenomenal—quick, attentive, and incredibly friendly. I was actually shocked she said she just started working there. She checked on us consistently and even gave excellent cocktail recommendations that hit the mark perfectly. For appetizers, we ordered the chicken lettuce wraps and the cauliflower, and both were delicious with a little bit of a kick. For entrées, we tried the Mediterranean Bowl and the Steak & Shrimp Ravioli—both dishes were delicious! While the steak came out a bit cold, it wasn’t enough to inform Rachel about it, especially since the overall flavor of the dish made up for it.To end the meal, we shared the apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which was the perfect sweet finish. NOW FOR THE BAD PART, I did have a concerning experience that I feel is important to mention. Joey’s has an open kitchen concept, which I typically appreciate as it brings a sense of transparency and trust to the dining experience. Unfortunately, I witnessed a moment that compromised that feeling. A chef, who appeared to be the lead chef (based on his different uniform), was plating food what looked like wings with his bare hands. Shortly after, I saw him approach a man dining who had a dog with him and proceeded to pet/ rub the dog all over his belly and head —including letting the dog lick the palm of his hand. He then returned to the kitchen, using an iPad and handling kitchen items—without washing his hands! I brought this to Rachel’s attention, and she was extremely apologetic and responsive. She immediately notified the Assistant GM, Traya, who came over to personally apologize and assured us that the issue would
