HAVEN Riverfront Restaurant and Bar
Food was excellent. Server was nice, but service was extremely slow. Other than the bar, the restaurant wasn’t that busy and did not appear understaffed. If you’re not in a hurry, don’t let this stop you from going. Food was great and they have a really nice view.
Staff was welcoming very friendly. It was a 1 st visit for us at Joes so we were surprised with a complementary delicious calamari appetizer. Large portions of well prepared seafood entrees. Also given the
LETS GET SHIP FACED glass my Margarita came in ;-)
We had a good time!!
My husband loves the crab bucket.
I love that please nice food and service. My kid and my wife...
Great food and service too bad this place closed.
I thought the food was excellent as was the service. The only complaint I would have is the food portions were not commensurate to what they charged. It’s understandable considering their location and how expensive the property taxes are for them. However, it is a terrific place and I look forward to coming back there.
Always a treat. Family friendly atmosphere. Fun food options. My family loves it and we are so glad to finally have one right in our neighborhood!
One of the worst meals we have ever had. Food was stale and overcooked. For the price they are charging and the food quality provided, you might as well go to a fast food chain.
We won’t go back for sure!
This one has great views of NYC, food is good and fair value.
As always, a great experience for food. Although the service was a little lacking, it was an enjoyable meal at a reasonable price.
We had a great time at Joe’s tonight. Our small children really loved the atmosphere and the staff was so kind to them. The food was great and so were the drinks, too. We’ll be back soon!
Meal was ok. Nothing special. Beautiful view but slow service.
We celebrated four birthdays and an anniversary there this past Sunday. We had asked for outside seating at a table rather than the usual picnic bench, but somehow this wasn’t relayed and early arrived in our group were seated t a bench. We were moved without any problem and were seated with the south view (toward lower Manhattan). We had several of the appetizers, bought drinks that offered a souvenir glass, and had several different seafood pots and a Captain’s Plate. Everyone enjoyed the food. The weather was summertime warm, the river was buzzing with various watercraft, and the service was attentive. This is a chain, we didn’t expect a lot, but we were surprised and pleased. If you go during warm weather, reserve a table with chairs (rather than a picnic bench) outdoors and ask to sit on the south side. Indoor seating is tables and in a large bar area. Park right in front on the pier at the back of the shopping center.
Love the location and the food was tasty. Unfortunately service wise, very poorly run. I even made a reservation on open table to take my wife to a nice dinner. When we arrived there was nobody to seat us, nobody to even acknowledge us. Eventually someone who was not a host did seat us. (The place was not very crowded). Our server was working very hard to take care of a full table near us and didn’t seem to have time to take care of us. They should have seated us in a section with a different server who wasn’t as slammed. We weren’t in a hurry, and this is certainly not fast food, but we just felt ignored the whole time.
I found the food to be overly cooked/deep fried. The crab cakes were the worst I have ever had and fish was dry and tasteless. Our young waiter was very enthusiastic and nice. The views are the best part.
Overall a great experience! Great for kids and adults alike. I had 2 children in my party and they enjoyed being on the patio near the water. I also loved the deserts just as much as the crab. I recommend the chocolate cake!
Overall good experience. The only complaint was service from the waiter. He was very slow in getting to our table and even serviced a table that was seated after us before he got to us. He didn’t seem to want to work that night. Might have just been an off night for him. Overall good tho. Thank you.
Waiter was awesome. Very helpful.
Loved it! Great food, service and variety! Great space and location.
Waiter was great. View of city awesome. Food was good..... not great but what is what I expected. Enjoyed our experience.
I loved the view even though the weather was no good , the food was great , but the service it needs to improve , and the place was not busy
I hope when us busy you have a better service
Great service , would go back and recommend this place
This was the second time we had Letty as our server. My toddler had something to say to her every time she passed by and she was very patient. The food is pretty standard, but does not disappoint.
Another fabulous meal!
The restuarant was very nice in appereance but the service was terrible! We were neglected half the time and food took about 20 mins and 15 mins just to get our bill. The mixed drinks were all juice with minimul alchohol.
It was super loud and the food was mediocre. Our server Armando was awful.
This was the third time we went here. Each time gets better and better. This time Alex, our server was superb. He kept in coming over and asking how each course was. When I mentioned that the margarita was a bit too sweet for me, he rushed and got me another one. Jen and the management staff are doing everything they can to give the best level of service possible. Together with the amazing food and spectacular views, this is a place you’ll want to come to soon before it just gets too crowded!
First time at this new location and it was a great experience. The decor was fun. Food was good. I was able to order something off the kids menu, which was quite nice, for my 18-month old. We had a great server and the management was very attentive as well. They did a great job making everyone feel welcome and making sure everything was good. They were really great with the kids at all the tables. Pleased to have a good crab place nearby; will definitely return.
I love the waterfront location. Service is beyond slow on a weekday.
Nothing fancy. Outdoor seating is a plus.
Server forgot to put up candle on the dessert.
Server need some busboys to clear the tables.
Great Fun and Great Views......... Great service !!!!
Very nice place with a great view. Friendly waitress and waiters. Food is good. If you like seafood and like a casual dinner this is the best place.
PS. Variety of delicious drinks.
Service was great but the food was alright. If you're looking for a place that has fresh seafood this isn't it. Taste very dry too.
We got a $35 dollar bucket of crab and lobster but we only got one lobster tail and three crab legs. Two of the crab legs were super skinny with barely any meat.
Probably won't come here again.
If you are a fan of blasting loud music and deafening noise, go to Joe's. What ever happened to the beautiful fine dining restaurant, Mitchell's, that once occupied that space? The only redeeming factor was the view of the Hudson and skyline of NYC and our delightful server, Michele. Babies were screaming, and the servers on numerous occasions put on a show dancing and singing for the guests. They are promoting it as a family restaurant and it does not sit well when you want to go out for a relaxing evening on Saturday night. The food was marginal at best and quite expensive for what we got. The Landry group can do better.
Service was good, but the food was disappointingly average. My husband had grilled fish, which was very good, but I had a streamer pot, which is supposedly one of their specialties, and the seafood was extremely dry and rubbery. Also, it was uncomfortably cold in the restaurant.
The portion of the dungee crab bucket could’ve been better 2 clusters for 40$ they could do better . I asked for raw clams received baked clams my orders were all messed up.
At least I can say the restaurant did a better job than its original predecessor at the location. The pier-side view down the Hudson is fine. Even though the restaurant is in Bergen County, their Hudson County Restaurant Week menu did not have anything worth ordering, leading to my choosing something more expensive on the regular menu. It was a piece of fish unfortunately submerged in a sugar sauce. When I came in, an employee promised to lower the blasting music -- That was only temporary despite there being only a few customers present.
Food was excellent
This is about the 5th time I've visited the shack, and the food gets better ed very time. Service could be more attentive, though.
An excellent view of the Hudson a wonderful view of the Hudson river and New York City
