It was fine food was GREAT just upset they didn’t accept my Joe’s Crab Shack Landry’s Select Card.
Good food and excellent server.
Great food and service. Would definitely recommend to others
Drink service sparce. Orders missing items or unwanted substitutions. Not crowded. Staff hung out in corners.
Haven't eaten at Joe's Crab Shack in a couple of years because the two closest ones in Illinois and Missouri closed and of the pandemic. I was really looking forward to the meal in Aurora, Colorado, taking my wife, sister in law and brother in law out to eat. I always eat the Cajun Sea Food Pot and loved it. This meal was the biggest disappointment in dining I've had. There was 1/2 of the andouille sausage, 1/2 of a sausage. Less than half the amount of shrimp, 3 of them in total, less than half of the potato, 2 halves of a small potato. The 1/2 ear of corn was nothing but mushy and tasteless, like it had been cooked at least one time before it was served to me. There were a lot more mussels than usual and the crab shell was soft and squishy for whatever reason and was pretty tasteless. Finally there was no real Cajun favor to anything. Seafood prices are very high I believe but I don't think you change the menu without notice, raise the price. I don't think there is any excuse for the poor quality of the corn and the crab that was served in addition to the change in the menu.
In fairness my three companions were very happy with their meals The server, a young black man was great, good service and conversation and a very nice young man.
Server was awesome
We have been to crab shack several times now and the quality of service is terrible.
The WAIT time is terrible. Clearly, there are tables open and it appears to be mediocre slow. The food was average and that's putting it nicely!
We spent the late day golfing and decided to have crab legs for dinner. My son doesn't care for seafood so he always orders his sirloin. His steak as he states is bustin bustin! We also ordered Joe Classic Sampler, a beer for husband and on the rocks margarita for myself. Our drinks took about 5 min to arrive. I think our waiter had forgotten about our drinks until he turned to look at us and realized that we hadn't had our drinks yet.
As for our meal, we ordered the Steampot for two ($80) than we added the Queens legs ($30) I think our waiter may have forgotten to order the queen crab legs so when it came out it was still frozen! We were halfway done with our steampot when the queens legs came out.
We always spend $200 for a family of 3 when our family goes out to dinner. Needless to say, we will never go to Joe's Crabshack ever!
I paid $142.00 and left hungry, the portions are for people on diets! So disappointed I felt ripped off.
Great food and fun environment for seafood meals. relaxed atmosphere. reasonable cost.
Overall it was really bad. I understand it’s tough right now as restaurants have no help. Our waitress was sweet and she did the best she could. There was only 1 line cook that showed up on a Friday night. Food was cold and took a long time. I was not expecting much as Joe’s Crab Shack is always pretty bad. We only went there as some of our out of town friends wanted to go there. They were out of several seafood items, and that is there one job! It was very loud in there and not from lots of people. There was some kind of machine that kept going off and it sounded like jets on a runway! Won’t be going back for any regular dining. Very overpriced for terrible food!
Went to Joe’s for my favorite dish, crab with their buttery barbecue flavor. Apparently that has been replaced with a dry rub that doesn’t resemble the original in any way. Just not a good experience. Crab came out ice cold with the wrong seasoning. The manager attributed it to the frequent sale/resale of the company and said they changed a lot of things. We won’t be back.
Bit of a tough night at Joe's. Was quiet and I got a table right away, but the service was fitful and ambivalent at best and begrudged at worst. I ordered an expensive drink that wasn't very good and came with a cheap plastic shaker, but I'd rather the drink simply been worth the price. The lobster bisque tasted decent, but was extremely short on lobster. The crab cake was the star of the show, I grew up eating the very best in MD and I know my cakes so I was surprised at how good this one was. But the rest of the East Coast Platter was a bit lackluster, with the clams only so-so and the fish best left on the plate. I added on lobster tails, but they "were very frozen" and took forever to arrive. To the manager's credit they took them off the bill and threw in an extra, but the quality left pretty much everything to be desired and I'm certain I wouldn't have paid for them in any case. I've had much better at Joe's in the past, so this wasn't a deal-breaker for me, but the location in Aurora could use a bit of polish for a seafood place where one can easily spend $50 or more per person. Better prep, livelier/friendlier service, and a better bar tender would be good places to start.
Although we were on the patio it is a very pleasurable day. The food was excellent and the staff was superb. Absolutely outstanding.
Usually very good. Food was cold, it was cold inside, wore my coat, they were out of several wines. Just not good at all. Very disappointed 😞
The “heaters” weren’t heating anything. Miserable to eat outside. No drop-down tarp to block any drafts. It was in the middle of the daytime and it was freezing. More effort should be put in, even though business is low, to ensure some minimal comfort as a paying customer.
We were able to make reservations but when we got there - there was no one to assist us, the place was empty and all tables and chairs were moved aside both indoor and outdoor. There was no attendant, so we left !
A steam pot is my death row meal. There are not a lot of places to get them in Denver. Joe's Crab Shack always delivers when I have the craving. Service is hit or miss, but the wait staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, just sometimes slow. I will go back and recommend it to friends.
Great service, a little noisy but not bad, food was excellent, social distancing was great.
We really enjoyed the food. Many different selections to choose from on the menu.
I can not remember our server's name it was a pretty name. I know it started with an S. She was amazing! Loved her eye makeup it sparkled as she did! Thank you!
Good food great service!!!
Love Joe's, one of my favorite places to eat. A little expensive but worth it. The closest one to me shut down so I don't get it as often as I wish. Love when I get to.
Birthday dinner for my family
Our server was great to start off but then got a little busy. My boyfriend never got a soda refill. Also, we are crab pot novices and didn't know you are suppose to keep the plate on top to keep your "pot" warm so that would have been nice to know instead of figuring out for myself after it was too late.
Joe’s never disappoints. Food is good and great service from Terry
Server had Great attitude and was helpful
Great dinner experience. Our server, Kat, was terrific! The food and drinks are always excellent at Joe’s.
great dinner this time. the crab legs tasted better than previous visits.
We went to Joe's to celebrate a birthday and it was ok for that. We understand that all of the labor force is a bit lacking due to the low unemployment so, it's true; good help is hard to find.
That being said....we had a nice waitress, ordered apps that came out rather quickly considering but, once we ordered our dinner selections, it took forever for the food to arrive and then it was lukewarm as if it had been sitting around awhile.
The shrimp was very good. The crab cake mushy. The fish pieces were bland. The margaritas were delightful. Nice touch to send home the jar them came in.
Terrible service. Reservation was passed up and we had to wait long past our time. Did not get any silverware until we asked 5 times. Food was OK. Best part was the simple fountain drinks we got, lemonade and Dr. Pepper... We probably will never go back.
The food was okay. My son loved his crab but the crab cake was not good. I felt like everything was dirty and didn't want to touch anything. The server was good. It was my son's 15th birthday and no special treat?? They just embarrassed him and sang him Happy Birthday.
Food is great and good price.
I love Joes..... But it's just not as good as it used to be.
It used to feel like a party every time you went -- but they did away with the dancing and interactive waitstaff. They changed to music soundtrack too.
The food is good -- but you can see more and more changes to save money. For example, they changed to a lower quality sausage and instead of mini potatoes, large potatoes are used in the crab pots.
The food is getting saltier too.
There's something about Joes that still makes it fun! But maybe it's my nostalgia for the days when everyone would be up and dancing to Car Wash or Love Shack!
But I used to have to wait for a table -- and now, you can just walk in with out reservations and generally be seated immediately. I guess the dwindling crowd/demand says a lot.......
The only issue that kept on getting brought up at our table was the heat and lack of AC. To be fair it was July however they should consider it.
We were seated quickly and the server was attentive. The crab was over cooked and mushy. Not a good meal for the price.
Our waiter was the best! The food was excellent. The only thing wrong was that we had a party of 8 and they only put 2 small tables together and we were elbow to elbow. In the future if the Restarant wouldn’t give us more space we would dine somewhere else. But as long as they could give us the space we need we would definitely come back again and again.
It’s hard to get good seafood in Colorado but their steam pots were delicious! It’s a little pricey but probably not unreasonable for seafood. Wait staff and ambiance were great as well!
Great customer service! Delicious food, good value!
Great food and gathering place for family super friendly staff
