My wife and I chose Joe Muer as a place to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary, we couldn't have bee more pleased. The experience was stellar, starting with the waitress already knowing that we were celebrating a special occasion (without us having to tell her). The graciousness of the service, the excellent presentation and flavors of our many courses and the wine selection were all top notch! The many dessert options were a great culmination to a terrific meal. I would definitely recommend Joe Muer for special occasions, or, just to have a pleasant and romantic dinner.
The new vegan dinner option is absolutely terrific...
Great food and service. A little overpriced and really quite, taking into account I visited on a Sunday night.
Classic Detroit Restaurant
Went for birthday brunch with friends. Our server Paul was outstanding!
You did not disappoint! We’ll be back soon!
Very nice food and attentive waiter
It was a really nice lunch. Our waiter was very nice.
Celebrating our 47th wedding anniversary, we chose dinner at Joe Muer. A special kind of salmon was among the recommended selections. We each ordered the salmon, and it was simply delicious. Our dessert came with the writing "Happy 47th Anniversary" on the plate. Ours was a delightful experience and the waiter was fantastic. We shall come again!
Wonderful meal. Everything was perfect. Will go back in a heart beat
The service was great, but the quality of the food has really slipped. I have no problem paying more for a great experience. This wasn’t one.
The Best, service and food top of the line. Very clean
Our dining experience was EXCELLENT for my wife’s Birthday.
Katelyn, our server, made the evening a night to remember.
She made it very comfortable with her timing and professionalism.
Fabulous service and fantastic food. Yes, it's pricey, but they have got the dining experience dialed in. There's a reason it's been around so long and continues to deliver.
We really enjoyed our experience overall. Service was prompt and attentive without being overbearing. Halibut was delicious, stuffed flounder was good, but not extra special. Complimentary appetizer sides of bean salad, smoked fish and bread basket were very tasty and much appreciated. Coconut cake is very good to share. Manhattan was well made but very short on liquid. Total bill around 150.00.
They undercooked the lobster so we couldn’t all eat together. The staff was not attentive to us or our needs. No hot towels after eating lobster, no bibs, etc. Service was very slow. We were celebrating a birthday...very disappointing.
Visiting Detroit first time in 15 years! It didn’t disappoint in any way in all aspects of taste, service, atmosphere, et. al.
Would recommend to everyone! Killer desserts to complete the meal! Loved it!
Excellent food. Saturday night - very busy - not enough servers made everything slow.
The service was outstanding the food was great and the people were friendly
Always great food, wine and service. Great for birthday or romantic occasion.
This was our first visit to Joe Muer Bloomfield, and it definitely won't be our last! The food (all courses) and beverages were excellent. The Deviled Crab Balls appetizer got us started nicely; our Whitefish and Barramundi were "keepers."
Our server (Katelynn) made the experience all the more enjoyable with friendly, helpful advice on the various dishes. Next time we go, we will ask to be seated at one of her tables.
The only negative is modern restaurant design with all hard surfaces (no carpet, draperies etc.), which quickly amplifies the sound level of every source: music, conversations and so on. We had the misfortune of being adjacent to a table with a diner who obviously believed that he was the foremost expert on any and all topics (politics, science, economics, current affairs) and proceeded to loudly demonstrate that belief almost through our entire meal (we had already started eating when the oration began).
In spite of this, our visit was a very pleasant experience overall.
Outstanding food & service! Josh our waiter was magnificent. Made our 44th Wedding Anniversary extra special.
Excellent experience! Bill was our waiter, did an excellent job. Helped guide us thru our meal decisions.
Had 3 different appetizers that were exceptional and 4 different desserts that were over the top!
Four of us had dinner here this past Tuesday evening. Our server was very good and attentive. The busboy continually we filled our water glasses. In general we had a very nice meal. My only complaint was my salad had very little in the way of dried cherries and nuts and cheese . I had ordered the Martha’s Vineyard salad and expected a bit more than what was delivered. Other than that are fish dishes were all quite good. We will return and recommend Joe Muers to our friends.
It was a beautiful Birthday celebration
ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE. IT WOULD BE HELPFUL IF THE SERVER WOULD INFORM THE GUEST OF THE PRICE POINT OF THE EXECUTIVE SHRIMP AND THE LOBSTER.
The evening exceeded our expectations in every way except it was a bit pricey. We’ve enjoyed eating here as a couple and with friends and family. Superb food tase and quality. Presentation and service is exquisite. Deserts a lovely experience. We left happy and our friends were impressed by the entire evenings meal from salads to soup, entree then dessert and drinks.
I ask for outside sitting but it was a mistake...outside means in a plastic box...no flowers..no greenery at all.
I order fruits of the sea..but didn't know it comes with a super heavy pasta...which after 10 min you need to cut with the knife.
Kyle was a very nice waiter...just should be more relax...oester were great..I dont think I will come back there at give another chance.
Very attentive bussers. They did a very good job keeping water filled and table clean.
We ordered their lobster dinner special. We were very disappointed. Lobster was broiled. It was dry and without flavor.
Met up with life long friends. Wonderful experience.
Haven’t had such poor service anywhere in a very long time.
Noise level extremely high. Took our coffee outside so we could actually have a conversation.
I would recommend Joe Muer's but with an explanation.
Arrived at 6:30, promptly seated at a splendid location. Maitre Ds were gracious and ebullient! Waiter/server was gracious, amusing, and knowledgeable. It was a special evening for us.
My Old Fashion was a splendid presentation, but the drink was watery. Had no flavor. Wife's wine was perfect. Assortment of table appetizers were very good.
However, when food arrived, any food plated in the dining room, was transferred to a cold plate so Dover Sole entre was tepid at best. Lobster Bisque soup was also served in a tepid/cold bowl.
Presentations were very good, but the cold plates/food didn't enhance our anniversary evening.
Being senior citizens with an anniversary of 50+ years our dining experience was less than hoped for. Had great expectations when you consider the price point on all items.
Wish Joe Muer's well, but have reservations regarding future dining.
We’ve had tremendous service in the past. After promoting the restaurant to a friend to celebrate a special occasion this evening was very disappointing. The waiter disappeared and it took almost 40 minutes to get our entrees. I’ll wait awhile to return
Service was excellent, Noise level a bit high.....hard to hear my Sweetheart sitting next to me. Food was excellent as well.
The temperature in the restaurant was so cold, one could not enjoy one's dinner. I realize it was very hot that evening, however this was beyond ridiculous. All three of us had on long sleeves, so it was not like we weren't prepared. I may only return in the winter.
Our server Bill was the best, from beginning to end.
We had a lovely dinner and never felt rushed or hurried. Will definitely come back again.
We had a wonderful time at Joe Muer’s. Our server, Lance, was excellent from start to finish! The food was super and Lance made some great suggestions that really enhanced the experience. The entrees we're good, the sides even better, and you have to try dessert. You will be so glad even if you share it with others. Can't wait until we come back to the area. We will definitely make a trip back to Joe Muer's for another great meal. Thanks!
My wife and I came in on a Monday night and there was a decent crowd. The service was fantastic from the moment we walked in and sat down and during our entire meal. The manager stopped by as well to say hi and to check on us. Great selection of wines by the glass which was perfect for a Monday night. We started with some west coast oysters and they were mediocre at best. Maybe the east coast oysters would have been better. We both ordered salads and my wife sent hers back and and I ate half of mine. But when it came to our main course, the meals were fantastic. My wife had the salmon special and it was a large piece with great flavor and prepared perfectly. I was in the mood for a steak and it rivaled any steak you would get from a steak house. The flavor and texture of the filet was delicious. I added 2 scallops to make my own version of surf and turf. My wife is obsessed with french fries and she loved their version; hot and salty. Next time, I think we will arrive earlier and sit at the bar for a cocktail before being seated in the dining room.
