Outstanding decor, food & staff. Best in the area by far!!
The waiter, Paul very attentive and his aim was to please
Fabulous dinner. Food was excellent. Shrimps in the shrimp cocktail were large and fresh. Both the Walleye and salmon dinners are well prepared and tasted fresh. Great House Salad. Well thought out wine list. Excellent, friendly service. Stayed at the hotel so had the chance to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktails Dan the after dinner Spanish Coffee. A Detroit Institution.
While it was a fairly busy evening, we did not expect our meal to last well over three hours. Service was slow. Everyone's soup was lukewarm, as was one of our four entrees. We sent the entrée back, but again, much time passed while it was being reheated. This was our second visit to Joe Muer's and we much preferred our first dining experience.
Terrible experience. Our waitress was extremely unprofessional. The kitchen made a mistake on my wife’s sushi order and brought her 2 rolls she did not order. The waitress then convinced her to keep the rolls since it would take 25 minutes to make her correct order. Waitress was unfriendly and did not seem happy to be serving us at all. I ordered a whisky which came in a filthy glass with debris in floating in it. The appetizers were unappetizing to say the least. Defiantly do not order the Thai shrimp ( it is extremely bland and there are only 4 pieces). My Salomon was decent but I have definitely had better at a much cheaper price. Our waitress brought the check without asking if we wanted anything else. She also did not say a word when she brought the check (it was as if she was rushing us to leave). I highly recommend that you either visit the Detroit location or take your business else where. This is defiantly not a high end establishment even though it is pricey.
Our waiter Lee was amazing. He attended to our every need. Food was very tasty but could have been a little bit warmer. We will be back.
Very attentive waitstaff -- Did not have to “tackle” them in order to get service...and as usual, the food was tremendous!
Love this restaurant
My wife and I took my mother in law out for her 91st. birthday I wanted a good place to dine I am glad we went to Joe Muer's from walking through the front doors the host was very friendly and the service is very professional the food was amazing I cant wait to return and try another dish.
Reliably great food and great service. Too loud for a real date though, and no limits to their pennypinching at every opportunity.
Service was not quite what I expect from a restaurant of this cost. Other similar ones have better service. It was not bad just not as good as I expect when paying premium prices.
Great place to have an incredible meal.
The people, service, and the food is excellent.
Ann is an awesome waitress. Definitely ask for her.
Outstanding service!! Food was excellent also. A wonderful dining experience!
Poor slow service with cold food. Had to be sent back with manager bringing food to table eventually.
Usually a great place, and not very busy Friday night? Spent over two hours in restaurant.
Our server Renee was wonderful, friendly & knowledgeable of the menu. The birthday boy truly enjoyed his meal.
It’s was great evening with great food and service.
Joe Muer's is my favorite all time restaurant! The food is outstanding, and the service is first class!
Thank you for a wonderful birthday experience-and special thanks to Lee our waiter.
Our drinks took over 20mins to arrive, the appetizer was about an hour, meals took forever and arrived cold. The chocolate cake was the driest thing I have ever had. It took over 2.5 hours for 4 people on a Tuesday night. Will not go back.
The hostess was not friendly.
Our waiter Lance Haisha was by far one of the best waiters we’ve ever had at any restaurant.
This is our second time and the food is always great. We love it gets. Highly recommend them. Be sure to request lance!!
This is our second year in a row visiting Joe Muer for our Birthday Dinner. We love the place, great food and amazing service.
We were shown to our table immediately upon arriving. Rachael, our server, greeted us promptly with a smile. She proceeded to tell us of the chef’s feature of the evening. She shared so much detail and knowledge, it was as if she’d cooked it herself. I have dined at five star restaurants across the continent and Rachael’s service is second to none. Aside from our phenomenal service, we also enjoyed some delicious food. The potato skillet side dish, recommended by our server, was to die for. My filet cooked to perfection. The server assistants were also very helpful and prompt when it came to water refills and seemed to really work as a team with the servers.
Overall, a truly remarkable experience with great food and even better service. Thank you, Joe Muer Seafood Bloomfield, and our server, Rachael, for a wonderful evening.
Everything was fine except one meal did not come with everyone else’s. She had to wait quite a while for her meal.
First time at this restaurant. Took family for a nice dinner. This place exceeded our expectations. Food, service and ambience were all excellent. We will definitely be coming back. Tanya took great care of us.
Outstanding in every respect!!
This is a perfect date night spot! The ambiance is very relaxing. The service is exceptional. The restaurant aims to give you a quality experience. The seafood is beyond delicious! The scallops are a game changer! We can’t wait to visit this establishment again!
Colossal shrimp 🍤 was Not colossal.
Steak size with the surf and turf was a complete joke for $88.
My family brought me and my daughter here for our birthday. Great food, great waiter and great ambiance!!
We went on a Sunday to celebrate our anniversary -- BIG MISTAKE! We should have known that the kitchen staff would be "second stringers" as the head chef at most restaurants does not work on Sundays. The food was terrible - not at all like the meals we've had there before; dry salmon, filets well done and chowder like paste and lukewarm.
Few people so lot less noise. Nice. Just expensive.
Brunch was lovely. Pastry tray incredible! Had the French toast. Delicious but would recommend splitting.
Our waitress was an absolute gem! All of our food was prepared perfectly, even my special shellfish and spinach allergies were handled with ease. It was my friend's birthday, and her dessert was just beautiful!
Matthew was great, food delicious!!
This restaurant has amazing ambiance. Superb service. Live piano music, even at an earlier dinner dining hour (5:30). We were still able to have a conversation. Amazing variety of wines by the glass and half bottle if you happen to enjoy such an option. The food was the only thing that was not top notch. Everything was prepared well in terms of being cooked appropriately, but I felt lacked in some flavor. Very safe. All four of us had fish or shellfish. We also enjoyed a shared dessert and cappuccino.
Music a little loud but otherwise everything was excellent
Great fresh seafood. Service was outstanding. It was a fun night out.
Waitress only so-so She didn't explain the daily special of sturgeon
Walleye was dry
creamed spinach was only so so
disappointed - paying high price for so so food
We sincerely enjoyed our dinner. The one drawback was the table next to us however. These people were over served. Their loud conversation impacted our what was supposed to be quiet, romantic dinner celebrating Valentine's day.
My husband and I dined here for our 21st Anniversary. The food was good. My husband ordered the “fish of the sea” and his seafood was cold. We had to send it back. Most restaurants would remake the dish fresh. They, however, did not. They brought the same dish back with the half eaten scallops that we had first eaten. I ordered the lobster tail. My lobster was room temperature (understandable as seafood cools quickly) and my potatoes were cold. We also ordered the truffle fries which were the most enjoyable part of the entrees. The manager did buy us a dessert as compensation for our dinner mishap but honestly, although the gesture was nice, he/she should have brought out a new dinner entree for my husband and taken it off our bill. We have dined at far less expensive restaurants which have done this. I would have expected the manager to at least have stopped by our table to check on us and to make things right. We would try the restaurant again but wouldn’t rush back.
