Our waiter, Spencer, was the best we have had in Vancouver to date, although all have been very nice. It was just he that remembered the little details of what we had added to our order and was able to replicate that as well. We were very impressed with his service.

It was too hot, no a/c, and our table was right beside the waiter station and often felt crowded with staff bumping against some of our chairs and staff talking amongst each other can be a little uncomfortable for our group. Not enjoyable experience and was disappointed, as we normally have a great time there.

Outstanding Cioppino and Seafood Linguine. First discovered Joe Forte’s back in the late 1980’s. try to visit when I’m in Vancouver. Need to visit more often!

We sat upstairs and there is no air conditioning. It was uncomfortably hot even with the portable fan at our table. Food was okay but not great, especially for the price. Service was excellent. Feel bad for the servers working in that heat.

I haven't been to Joe Fortes for a while and I am never disappointed. I didn't give an overall 5-star because of the poor airflow and noise level. I forgot how hot it gets in the summer being an old building and probably poor AC or maybe its the high ceilings. And the noise level was through the roof. Food itself was great. Our server was so accommodating with our needs. Being here reminds me of alot of things I do love and I look forward to come back again, not on a hot day. :)

I’ve always enjoyed going to Joe Fortes. This time the fish and chips were really poor quality. The chips and the deep fried batter on the fish was so dark it was not appetizing. The oil is old and needs to be changed. I was surprised to see this at this quality of a restaurant. I didn’t finish it as it tasted so deeply oily and dark brown. Our waiter didn’t seem interested in being our waiter. A bit of a whatever attitude. Maybe it’s his personality but it’s off putting when my friend and I were looking forward to our nice dinner at the restaurant.

Both of us chose fish dishes from the daily specials. While our lunches were good, they did not merit the $50+ for each one. With one glass of wine and one Caesar salad to share with two main dishes....with tip, the bill came to over $170....quite a lot for a lunch without dessert or coffee.
