Joe Fortes has been specializing in classic, American cuisine since 1985. The turn-of-the-century inspired dining room features 30-foot high ceilings and six unique dining venues that include our Rooftop Garden. Director of Culinary, Wayne Sych, and Executive Chef, Ryan Green, prepare each dish with a focus on natural flavours and features the finest ingredients from Pacific Northwest farmers, fishermen, and other food artisans. Serving more than 30 kinds of fresh fish, premium oysters and thick chops daily, Joe’s signature dishes have become a favourite with locals, celebrities & tourists alike. Joe’s is known as the best oyster bar in Vancouver and is home to some of North America's best oyster shuckers. Our award winning wine list features over 200 selections from prominent wine regions throughout the world.                                                                                                                             Warmly greeted as we entered the restaurant. Our Server (Alex) was so polite, helpful and proactive to our needs. The food we selected was delicious as was the wine. Alex was so helpful in answering our questions which ensured we got exactly what we wanted. This is a ‘happening place’ with a positive buzz and with not an empty table. So busy, yet we still felt well looked after. We’d definitely would come back.

                                                                                                                            We attended Joe Fortes on a Saturday afternoon during happy hour, quite busy and with the tables so close it can be a bit noisy. We had Phyllis as our server, what a wonderful experience, so attentive but not always in your face, great personality and willing to engage in our banter. The raw oysters on the happy hour menu are a great deal as is the house red. A wonderful early dinner/late lunch. Not a weekly event for us as the price can get up there with drinks/meal and tip. Love the overall ambiance with the staff, tables, woodwork. A great place to go for a special occasion
