I made a reservation WEEKS IN ADVANCE. When I arrived at the restaurant... CLOSED! No call to tell me not to come to my reservation. Incredibly poor customer service on both the part of OpenTable and Jockey Hollow Bar and Kitchen.
Brunch w my teenage children. I ordered the blueberry soufflé pancakes. While they sounded delicious and tasted good, definitely not amazing... they were TINY!!!! Teeny Tiny!!!
The four mini pancakes didn’t even add up to the size of one normal pancake. $26 for less than ONE regular size pancake!?!? Chris - you’re killing me.
So, won’t be going to Jockey Hollow for brunch any time soon. Very very disappointing.
Great food and menu! Would definitely eat there again!
If anyone in Northern NJ does brunch better than Jockey Hollow I have yet to find them. Always delcious, always a treat!
Delicious food and wonderful service
This place always delivers a 5-star experience.
The owner was going between tables and socializing without using a mask. It was either down around his chin or just covering his mouth and not his nose.
Scallops salty, skate wing luke warm service great
Love the space, but the menu hasn't been very inspiring. Inside is noisy, patio is lovely, library bar charming. Cocktails /wine selection quite good as is service, just don't expect to much from the menu. Sorry really want to love the food here and we keep trying.
The service was absolutely abysmal. The waitress did not greet us, she did not read us the specials, she did not refill our wine, she did not ask us how our meals were. Horrible. The food was excellent but we've given this restaurant multiple chances to clean up their act and this will be the final time we dine there.
Lovely happy hour outdoors. The service and food were outstanding as always. Fresh and delicious oysters. My favorite and only place to go in this Covid-19 times. Planning to go back next week!
It’s great but we want to stay outside. The heaters were terrible and a better tent used. It was subpar.
We enjoyed our experience very much. The food was delicious, just the right amount!! We felt safe while we had a nigh out.
Service was great knowledgabl about all the beers which is awesome !
Excellent food and service, perfect portions, great service. Will visit again soon!
A Jockey Hollow experience never disappoints! Food and caliber of service was terrific. The restaurant needs to add more heaters - last night was a bit chilly, but as it gets colder, they’ll need to figure out how to keep guests comfortable outdoors.
We celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday with 4 of our children. Our meal was exceptionally good, our server was friendly and attentive, and we especially loved the innovative and delicious seasonal aspects of the menu and cocktails ... we will absolutely be back!!
Excellent food excellent service, could not ask for more, parking at the metered spots was extremely convenient
We celebrated my daughters expecting her baby. Waitresses gave us a great table where we had room for gifts. We were outside and the ambience was wonderful. Food was delicious. I had never been there and will definitely return and recommend it to friends.
Waitress let us stay as long as we wanted.
It was very good. I would have liked to have a drink at the bar with my date as we got there earlier. I do love the place I have been there many times and I live it!
Very nice dinner outside on the terrace. We were in the uncovered section, so completely open which was nice. Weather was a bit cool but there were heaters - they weren’t on and we didn’t really need them. Service was very friendly and food was awesome. Nice anniversary dinner - first time out with no kids since the pandemic began.
Over priced and poor quality food !
Great night, thanks. We are looking forward for our return
We go often and find the service is variable. Food was great but they made a mistake with the order. Also, as usual, topping up our wine glasses is always an issue. I am certain they make a hefty margin on wine so they should keep pouring!
Food was extremely salty and overpriced. We live in New York City, and expected the food and service to be alot better considering the prices were comparable to the city...
The food was excellent. There was a small mix up when we arrived. We were seated as walk-ins, when in fact, we had a reservation. I had called ahead to have a special treat of prosecco at the table when we arrived for my husband's 75th birthday. That did not happen due to the mix-up, but the staff more than made up for it once the error was realized. We sat outside due to avoid Covid exposure. The outdoor seating area was crowded and enclosed on all four sides and covered, which was really like being indoors. Fortunately, there were a few stand-alone tables away from the enclosed dining; otherwise, it would not have been safe for us to dine based on CDC guidance.
Jockey Hollow does not disappoint! I went for brunch. It was delicious food, unique menu, wonderful location and ambiance was perfect. I will be coming back to try their dinner!
Food and cocktails were soo yummy. Wait staff was very polite and attentive. A bit pricy, but worth it for the time and effort the restaurant puts into the experience. Would definitely go back.
My husband and I sat at the bar and had the best service. Delicious food and drinks!! Fabulous night out without pretense. Hospitable and friendly.
We had our 2 year anniversary dinner at Jockey Hollow and this place did not disappoint. We were seated next to an air filtration system which was super quiet, but made us feel safe given the covid-19 situation. Our servers were knowledgeable and friendly. We had happy hour oysters from 430- 5pm and I had a wine off the happy hour menu and a regular priced white wine, both of which were good, however the more expensive one was worth the price. We did the mushroom egg appetizer which was stunning in flavor. My boyfriend had the scallops which were possibly the best scallops of our life. I had the tile fish which was really good, although the broth may have been a bit too much. We had dessert which was good and overall had a wonderful experience. :)
Always a treat! The wine, the food, the ambiance and ,of course, the host make for a memorable experience!
This was our first post-quarantine fine dining experience. The restaurant was lovely, the space is ideal for social distancing, the food was delicious, and the staff was wonderful. We shared multiple appetizers, entrés, and deserts and they were all exceptional.
Great location! The food was great and the waitress was very attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to my family and friends!
Food and table service were excellent as always. Outdoor setting did not have the level of ambience as indoors but that is not unexpected and totally understandable during these times.
Great food, great service all around amazing
They are the best. Great service great food. Can’t go wrong here.
Menu changed and prices increased. The food on the new menu wasn’t very good.
This was my first time back to Jockey Hollow since the pandemic, and the food is as excellent as ever. This review is for brunch. I had the souffle pancakes with a side of bacon, and it was by far one of the nicest brunch meals I've ever had. The dessert menu is exceptional as well. It was easy to get a reservation, and there is a decent amount of outdoor seating available. My only complaint, and this didn't affect me luckily - the tables under the tent are very close together. No way are they 6 feet apart. I was able to ask for a table set up fully outside, but I would have been really apprehensive had I needed to dine under the tent. So if this is something that might concern you, make sure to ask for a table outside of the tent!
The GM Phillip is outstanding. Great food, great cocktails in a unique setting. Highly recommmend.
