Joann's Fine Foods
The menu is a tribute to diner culture featuring Tex-Mex favorites and California inspired healthy options. Classic breakfasts, milkshakes, enchiladas, fish tacos on house-made tortillas, colorful salads, daily juices, a pecan-burning grill, and an impressive mezcal collection all find a home here. There’s something for everyone – when in doubt, just say “meet me at Joann’s.”
All Ways Welcome. So Close Yet So Far Out.
While visiting Austin, we enjoyed Sunday Brunch and LOVED everything about our meal! We all decided we would like to move into Joanne’s and cannot wait to return. The hashbrown appetizer, pancakes, French toast, club sandwich, breakfast bodega sandwich were all bodacious! And, to top it off our waiter was adorable and very charming!! Joannes, please NEVER CHANGE!!
Joann's is our favorite breakfast spot in Austin, and we ALWAYS make sure we visit whenever we're visiting Austin. Food is great. Favorite is the Hippie Migas. Service is always excellent.
I love Joann's Fine Foods! It's my favorite restaurant in Austin! So fresh and delish and the staff is awesome!
I LOVE Joann's Fine Foods! The Hash Brown Nachos are my favorite!
Amazing salads and tacos with home made tortillas!
A+ all around- the only aspect that was slightly lacking was the service, it was a bit slow at times. But this did not overall affect our experience. As a native Austinite, I’ve visited this space numerous times in its evolution to Joann’s. This is by far my favorite of the phases. I enjoyed the Mojo shrimp from the pecan grilled portion of the menu. It was delicious, as was my frozen margarita. And the location can’t be beat! Prime S. Congress location is an A++.
Great food! We stayed at Austin Motel connected to Joann's and got reservations there for the first night. Loved it so much that we ate there twice more in a 4 day weekend!
Excellent food. Our server, Kiara, was wonderful. Helpful, knowledgeable, accommodating.
Great food and great service> Delightful atmosphere inside or outdoors.
Two person tables are very small. (maybe offer larger table if the parties are planning to have a working lunch.)
The fish tacos were very bitter and there is no way the corn tortillas were home made-they were definitely grocery store tortillas.
We had an excellent meal pushed over the top by a fantastic server. Donovan was supremely nice and attentive. Funny what a difference that makes.
The food was good, but it definitely comes with a sticker shock. Pricy for what it is. I went with a friend and we split the goat cheese appetizer and fish tacos (both were great), and she ordered a margarita, and it was over $60! And a place that claims to be "Tex-Mex" should not charge $4 for rice and beans.

Just the best
Second consecutive visit where there’s been an issue with the food order. The first time, the waiter literally forgot to put our food order into the kitchen. He was a mess. We left frustrated. This time the food took quite a while to come out but ultimately did arrive and the person who brought it proactively apologized for the delay and told us the food would be comped, which we appreciated. I want to like Jo Ann’s , but so far it’s been a so so series of experiences.
My second trip but 1st time for breakfast. Great food! Can't wait to return to try some other dishes.
Great cocktails and atmosphere!
Best breakfast in Austin. Hands down. And that pancake. That f**kn pancake!!!!!
A fun, happy place. Outstanding biscuits and coffee. My fried eggs (over medium hard) were perfect as was the crisp bacon.
Perfect. We love Joann’s!
Lovely evening, fabulous food, great ambiance. Can't wait to go again!
Seems to have the ‘curse’ of almost non existent service in Austin. Had a great first server, then they switched servers on us and the second one had no interest in our table. He dropped the check before we were even finished with our first drink and walked by at least 7-8 times looking to see if we had put our cards down, which made us feel completely rushed. (Had only been there 40 min)
The food was really tasty, ambiance was fun but lack of service had us leaving quickly instead of hanging out to have another cocktail.
Fantastic food and a great house margarita as well! Services is also very friendly.
I love this place, I was here when they first opened and the food is awesome, drinks are great and staff is wonderful.
Only complaint is that its REALLY loud! I could not hear each other without shouting.
Our service was terrible. Food isn’t bad but way overpriced for what it is. $12 for chicken chalupas with 3 small pieces of chicken? No thanks
Food was served cold and they were not busy. Fries were highly recommended big disappointment. Server was good. But won’t be back.
It was okay. Nothing super exciting. Cute environment.
Loud music. Very good food. Nice waitress.
The nachos are to die for.
We were immediately seated upon arriving, without any delays. The service was great all throughout our meal, and our server made great recommendations for drinks, meals, and dessert. The food itself was also delicious, and very timely. Would 100% recommend, and would visit again
Great vibe at Joann’s but extremely over priced in my opinion. Our party of 6 ended up just having appetizers and drinks and it still was a little steep. What we did order though was fantastic. Try the goat cheese toast off the appetizer menu, it was amazing! Our waiter Donavan was awesome by the end of the night but super pushy at the beginning trying to up-sell us on everything. I say check it out but it won’t be the place you’ll want to keep coming back to.
Fabulous as usual. Can't wait to come back again. Staff always lovely to my little girl
We were sorry to see Snack Bar leave the Austin Motel, but were very happy with Jo Ann's. Different flavor profile but still cozy, retro environment, relaxed strong service, better tequila selection and relaxed, competent service. I had the chicken fried steak and my wife had the mango shrimp over fried rice. Both were excellent. The coconut tres leches was one of the best desserts I've had anywhere.
Dining at Joann's was an okay experience for what we ordered. We were seated on time for our reservation, but it took at least 10 minutes before a waitress came by to even fill our water. However, they recognized the delay and gave us a free piece of banana bread without us asking. Service after this was excellent.
My friend and I each ordered breakfast tacos. They were good but not worth the price - I had the migas and paid extra to have bacon and avocado on them. That ran about $14 ish total, and I can get two migas tacos with those toppings elsewhere for like $6 total and they'd be just as good if not better. I think the rest of their menu seemed more fairly priced, but the tacos were definitely overpriced.
Good quality food, nice vibe, nice service, but prices are crazy expensive. Too many other great places in the area with much better value.
Food was great. Staff was nice. Very loud.
The food is tasty but this place is pretty hideously overpriced. You can eat the same thing in 100 restaurants in Austin for half the price. You're paying for location, but there are plenty of restaurants on South Congress I'd rather eat out.
