Joanne Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
Love Joanne's. Best lasagna ever! Love the garden area, but this time it was too cold outside, so had to move inside. They need heat lamps outside and it would be much more comfy. Inside is kind of loud, so if it were my restaurant, I would put padding on the walls for soundproofing so people could really hold a conversation. It is such a sweet place, but could be made more romantic with the right small touches. Candels, lower light. Padded walls ad maybe some ceiling padding for sound. Music played from Billie Holliday would add such ambiance. But, I am a romantic at heart and like designing the perfect space. This could be amazing! It is quite good as it is and the food is really great, so enjoy.
Before going to Lincoln Center, I knew I wanted Italian food. I did a search online and this is the fourth restaurant listed and it seemed like a good place to try. (The Gaga connection didn't hurt either.) I had the Truffle Alfredo. My husband had the shrimp with cream and we ordered two orders of broccoli rabe, which hubby said was the best he ever had. The homemade pasta was fabulous and the sauces were not too heavy. Everything seemed quality. Our waiter, Taylor, was a sweetheart and quickly replaced Hubby's Manhattan when the first one spilled. When my husband gushes about a restaurant, you know its better than good. We will be back.
First visit to this very cozy comforting restaurant. Waiter was very friendly without being overbearing. Gave us time to think about our choice and was happy to answer any questions we had being it was our first visit. Food was excellent and prepared well. Loved the atmosphere, felt like we were in a little village in Italy. Would definitely go again. The closeness of Lincoln Center also made it a very good choice. Thank you for a very nice start to a very nice evening.
The food is fantastic and the service wonderful and friendly. It is a fine dining experience at a reasonable cost. I had originally went in hopes of catching a glimpse of Lady Gaga however, after being several times, I now look forward to the friendly conversations with our waiter and the mouth watering food. You could literally order anything on the menu and be 100% satisfied. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It’s like dinner at a friends house. I promise you will not regret or forget Joanne’s. Also don’t forget to donate to the Born This Way Foundation. I give all I can when I can. It’s one of my favorite organizations.
We showed up early with an extra guest but they accommodated us immediately. Our waitress was attentive and patient, loved her. The food was excellent feom apps to desserts. The ambiance feels like family and holidays which lends itself to enjoying great comfort food with friends or family.
We had made reservations for 2 but when we arrived we were told a large party booked the dining room . Our table was squeezed into a small area opposite the bar. Our waitress was also the bar tender. Very cramped eating space, had to wave at the bartender if we needed anything. Not an enjoyable dining experience.
Mediocre food, too expensive, in a charming, cozy setting. Service is warm and friendly although not super attentive. If the prices were lower (pastas at $15 instead of $24) this would be an amazing place. But of course you're paying for the pedigree and the ambiance. I would recommend if you need to book Italian place near Lincoln Center, but you're not going for the food.
