Excellent food and lovely atmosphere
Intimate dinner with my wife prior to an event at the Lincoln Center, just around the corner. Authentic with a great wine selection at a reasonable price. I would return on a future trip to NYC.
Pleasant neighborhood restaurant. "Meatballs and spaghetti" dinner included only one meatball - should be renamed "meatball and spaghetti", although the lower priced appetizer came with two. Make reservations for busy times.
The food was excellent along with service which was always around but not overbearing. And that's something considering the tight spaces. Had great time with my wife on date night. Highly recommend!
little pricey buts NYC
They were able to take us early so that was nice.
Wonderful meal and terrific service! Definitely a do-again.
I wanted to Love the restaurant, had high hopes the Spinach dip was by far our best dish. The calamari was fair however the crispy hot cherry peppers were a hit that they pair with the calamari.
We had pasta and it was on the salty side. In fact a table next to us sent back their pasta because she said it was too salty. Not bad - not great- and a bit saucy for my taste. My son liked the Seafood mac n cheese.
I felt it was OK. I did get reservations easily- kindda know why now.
They switched our table with no hassle
But there happened to be a very noisy group nearby again
Love this place
Service and food are outstanding
Perfect stop before the opera at Lincoln Center
Food was very good. Excellent wine and very good service. A quiet and cozy ambiance. Quiet enough so that you can have an actual conversation. Sit on the patio is you are able
Had lunch with 3 friends, we shared and enjoyed 2 appetizers and each had a meal, and shared a dessert. Very cozy and it was very quite that particular time.
We come and eat here once a year when we visit my brother who literally lives across the street. It has great food with great helpings and is healthy. I love the atmosphere and it's in such a unique spot. Have eaten here for brunch everytime!
Lots of people know that this restaurant is owned by Lady Gaga's parents, but it definitely makes a stand for itself as a regular restaurant! The food is delicious and it has a great atmosphere. If you're looking for Italian food, I would definitely recommend Joanne Trattoria.
Service and meal were great. Love the food and cozy ambiance.
Good Italian food at reasonable prices for NYC. Would go back again when I'm in the area for dinner.
Our second trip and as expected did not disappoint. Great food at an average New York price so well worth your trip if you go!!
Amazing food, service, in a quaint authentic feeling Italian restaurant. We had the pasta Alfredo, salad, soup, and scallops. The servers were great and the clientele were friendly and gave the restaurant a great feel.
Joanne’s was a beautiful restaurant. I feel it is in some cases a little small and cramped but it does feel like a genuine Italian family home. Food was declious and the meatballs and spaghetti for main were top notch.
Pseudo Italian restaurant. My friend requested pappardelle and got fettuccine and it wasn’t hot. I can’t even remember what I had, but ended up Iath a cold expresso, not a hot one.
We go there often - always enjoy it
It was amazing as always.
Buffala was served with ice cold tomatoes,no taste. Pasta with White truffle lacked truffle completely. Over all the food was below mediocre which is a negative accomplishment considering how simple and easy Italian cooking is.
This restaurant was very friendly. However, we found most of our food to be on the bland side. Nothing was prepared incorrectly or was not able to be eaten. Our servers were very sweet and attentive. But in a neighborhood with many Italian restaurants we were expecting more. The prices are not high for this part of town but they didn't reflect the food.
Fantastic dinner. The lasagna was 10 out of 10!!!
Outstanding food and the service was outstanding!! reasonably priced!!
It was an amazing experience. The food was incredible. Authentic, Italian food. I can’t wait to go back.
This is a very nice neighborhood restaurant in the Lincoln Center area. The food is good, the portions are large, the crowd is age and dress appropriate for Lincoln Center. I was there for my birthday and was underwhelmed.
Food was really nice if not slightly over priced.
Was really disappointed however as I booked this restaurant for my 30th Birthday (same day as reservation) which I clearly noted on my reservation and absolutely no mention of my birthday from the staff members what so ever - I didn’t expect anything other than what we were paying for, however acknowledgment of my birthday was the least they could do - it really is the small things that make a huge difference - especially when we were spending around $250 for two of us. I think this is something that could be improved on.
Great! Love the white truffle pasta
Very nice evening with my family. Food was good. Staff were very attentive and friendly.
The food was enjoyable, however the ambiance left much to be desired. Our group of four was seated in the rear garden room. It was too crowded and the metal chairs and table were very uncomfortable. It was also cold, despite the fireplace. We shared two chicory, tomato and Gorgonzola salads that were generous and tasty. I had the grilled salmon which came with some nice fresh asparagus. My companions had the fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna and spaghetti with ragù sauce. The Alfredo was very good and the spaghetti with ragù sauce was fine. The lasagna was okay but nothing special. We had a fine bottle of Pinot noir. A shared tiramisù for dessert was very good. We would have preferred simple drip coffee but they offered americano instead. We ordered the cappuccino and it was fine.
We always love dining at Joanne Tratoria. It feels neighborly and genuine, and the food is always delicious. The bar is friendly and welcoming. We have never been disappointed.
Excellent Italian, we will return on our next trip to NY!
One of my favorite Restaurants in the city!!!! Always on point with drinks and menu options!!!! Great place for a intimate date or just a girls night out!!!
Been here many times. consistently excellent. Great food and service!
Mediocre at best. Red sauce and meatballs tasted ‘out of a jar ‘. Nothing special about the meal. Very tight dining tables. Service was pleasant and attentive.
I booked Joanne's for an early post-opera supper. We arrived a few minutes early and were cheerfully shown to our table. The waitress was slow in taking our drink order. So slow, in fact, that we had perused the menu and decided upon our selections by the time she approached our table. Food service was initially very slow. We waited one hour from the time we ordered to the time we received our appetizers. The bread plate could have included small bites of italian meats and cheeses. The drinks were outstanding but would have been complemented by a few olives or other small bites. The chicken milanese and chicken with lemon and artichokes were excellent, however, the wait staff did not offer grating cheese for the pasta. Another diner in our party enjoyed the lasagna. The arancini were quite good, as well. All in all, an enjoyable dining experience save the service. To be fair, the delay may have been in the kitchen.
Brunch before Lincoln Center matinee.
A little tight on time, but easily made performance.
Nice brunch menu.
Good for pre-Theatre. Excellent service. Great ricotta cheesecake. Very large portion of cakes-more than enough for two. We had lemon chicken with artichokes, eggplant meatballs with spaghetti and red gravy, and a side of sautéed Brussels sprouts. Bread and olive oil were ok, not great. I prefer a crustier bread and a tastier olive oil. I would go back and recommend it.
Great food and awesome service. Enjoyable dinner without being rushed.
We dined here for the first time and were pleasantly suprised. Beers are $7. We shared the Mac & Cheese with scallops and shrimp and the scallops and cream with linguini. Everything was delicious. Rich and flavorful. The service was fine and the the dining room was quaint. We will definetly return.
