The menu and service reflect the warmth and attention of being a house. Some regulars say "it has the look and feel of Greenwich Village on the Upper West Side"
We feature fresh pasta, artisanal pizza & other great Italian staples, like chicken scarpariello, eggplant parmigiana, & lasagna. We have many vegetarian and gluten free options as well.

A little slow at first on service but once the order went in it was quick. Very courteous and friendly
Nice cozy neighborhood place that I have no added to my list of regular places to go before Lincoln Center. The food, as described, is really good home-style Italian cuisine. Nothing fancy, just excellent execution of satisfying regulars like spaghetti and meatballs, chicken milanese, etc. By far the best dish was Papa G's chicken which is their version of on-the-bone chicken scarpariello. I got mine with hot sausage, a seldom offered option and it was "stupid good!" In all, the meal was a bit pricey, but the quality of the food and the service were excellent. I am looking forward to my next visit.
Charming and good food. Really enjoyed our evening
We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant & would recommend!!
Absolutely recommended fantastic service sensational food. It was on my bucket list and certainly exceeded expectations. 🙏
The food was average.
Service was excellent. Great wait staff, drinks were good, and the food was excellent. (However wish that the portions were a little bit larger)
Great experience and would recommend and return.
We went for the birthday of our friend — who is a super Gaga Stan. The menu is full of classic Italian staples, and while nothing is too ambitious, everything delivered. A tad overpriced but happily accepted the premium for the novelty of the place for our friend. Service was super friendly, all around a good time and our friend was thrilled with it all!
We loved the food! However, it is a very tiny restaurant and I had a lady sitting right behind me who was taking up more than her share of space, so I was pressed tightly against my table for much of the meal. They also weren't serving any of the exciting desserts that are shown on their Facebook page, so that was a bit disappointing. But overall, the food was AWESOME and we will be back. The meatballs truly are amazing. It isn't their fault that the restaurant is small and popular.
Very nice evening for us all at this special place. We loved all our meals and drinks plus the service couldn’t be better. Thank you!
Great location for Lincoln Center. My wife was a little late, but I was seated anyway and nobody tried to rush us through our meal when she arrived.
Love it here . Great food , excellent service. Ricotta Pancakes are so good .
Wonderful meal! Will definitively return.
We try to eat here every time we travel to Manhattan. Can’t say enough about the place.
Food adequate. Noise level terrible.
As always, Joanne didn’t disappoint. Wonderful food, wonderful service, and a fabulous atmosphere. I make sure to visit every time I’m in the city!!
There is a beautiful outdoor patio tucked away in the back. Perfect for a Saturday lunch before the ballet!
Enjoyed a fabulous authentic Italian dinner. Food is always on point. Service is always good. Love the atmosphere. intimate dining spot
You must try the Meatballs, Spaghetti Bolognese, and Tiramisu. If they offer fresh pasta, by all means, treat yourself!
We had a choice of two tables. Both were large enough to accommodate a group double our size.
We were excited to find a tomato gravy Italian in the neighborhood and immediately booked a table. The service could not have been better; the food could have been. The men had lasagna and we’re happier than the women who ordered fish and chicken, but no one wants to go back. The mahi mahi was dry and flavorless. The chicken with artichokes had so much lemon that it was hard to taste anything else.
I’m sad to report that you can do better.
Amazing food, amazing family! Will go back every time I’m in NYC
Nice relaxed style and great food
This was my third time at Joanne's, first for my husband. Food was excellent. I had the rib eye and it was cooked to perfection (and tasted so good the next day for lunch). Ambiance is real nice. It wasn't loud in the dining room which made it easy to talk to each other.
He Love everthing! food, ambience, a full expiroence. So much more the Gaga’s Father restaurant. We love the service, Aline. She was so friendly! I Really recommend this place!
The food was delicious, but it was exceptionally loud and that made it hard to enjoy our dinner.
Wonderful "family" restaurant. The staff is pleasant and knowledgeable and despite being busy pay close attention to their tables, you do not feel rushed at all. Oh, almost forgot the food. I wont get into particulars but sum up by saying FABULIOUS !
Love the Mahi mahi - perfect for pre-Lincoln Center or Kaufman lecture - not too heavy, just right!
Thank you very much.
It was very delicious and it was delicious．We will definitely come again.
Loved this restaurant so much. It’s such a beautiful little restaurant and the food is amazing!!
It was fabulous!! Everything I imagined it would be. Big fan. Also love Lady Gaga. Would highly recommend.
Love this neighborhood place
The staff is lovely and the giant martinis are amazing
The place takes a line from Mary Poppins
“practically perfect in every way “
Good basic Italian food. Service was a bit slow, but overall simpatico.
This was my first visit and I will definitely be back. The food was good, service was lovely and we weren’t not rushed.
The restaurant advertises Happy Hour from 5 - 7:30. We were seated at 6:45 and were told Happy Hour is ONLY at the bar, not at the tables. I then checked at the bar and assumed I would get the wine there and bring it back to the table. First of all, there only one white and one red wine were offered for Happy Hour. That's it! Secondly, you could only drink these wines at the bar! What a rip-off and false advertising!
Food was average, nothing special. The restaurant was prettish with a small outside area in the back.
I will not be a returning customer.
A comfortable, cozy ambiance with an accommodating, friendly staff and delicious Italian food!
It was a lovely time. Our waitress was very efficient and very sweet.
Came in last minute on a Monday night for a dinner date. Food was amazing, especially the meatballs and truffle Alfredo. Would absolutely come back and try everything else. Homey, quiet atmosphere
