Great evening and the food was delicious!
Perfect spot to celebrate our first Valentine's Day as a married couple. The food was delicious, and the Prix fix menu selections were so complimentary of one another.
Food was just ok.
Great food, great service! Loved the ambiance for Valentine's Day. So sweet!
Great Linguine with Clam Sauce.
One of the worst dining experiences ever. The place wasn’t even full and yet we waited almost 20 minutes (and twice asking) for our server to arrive. Food was finally ordered. Then it took almost an HOUR for our food to arrive. No one checked on us though we saw staff walking around the half empty restaurant doing nothing. We had to pull them over numerous times to for updates. Eventually the food came but it was so late that some of my party had to take their food to go (and one of the orders was wrong). I want to love this place. The ambiance is charming. But that’s about it. What a huge disappointment.
Was really disappointed. Food was less than mediocre. It’s pretty tough to butcher up a chicken parm, but they accomplished to do just that. While our waitress was nice, I had to ask 3 times for a glass of ice. On a positive note, the hostess was lovely & the iced cappuccino was good.
This is a good spot if you are going to an event at The Beacon Theater or Lincoln Center. The service was fine, not very friendly but efficient. There is typical red sauce Italian fare. We started with the meatballs which were excellent followed by The halibut special which was cooked well but overwhelmed by a butter sauce my husband had the Bolognese which was pretty fair with a very thin sauce. The dessert menu was very small no sorbet or gelato. We ended with a cappuccino which tasted burnt. This is good value for the area & I would go back due to the location & maybe try the pizza or more traditional food
great ambiance. mediocre food and service.
Food was excellent especially the meatball appetizer and chicken parm entree. Table was tight and somewhat uncomfortable
The food is amazing and the staff is attentive and very nice.
I have a sleep store(Longs Bedding) on West 72 st for over 57 years. All this time I did not know of you. Sure glad I found you. My wife and I had a wonderful dinner and will be coming back soon. Unfortunately at the end of February we are relocating to the East Side but positively we will visit you from the UES. Looking forward to more enjoyable dinners
Bob and Judie
Hi Bob and Judie, We're so glad you came to see us - and we hope you'll visit us again soon! We'll miss you in the neighborhood, but hope you'll be back soon! Xo, Joanne
Cozy ambiance, fresh tasty food and good service.
Great food, great wine, and great service.
Ordered Lasagna and Spaghetti Bolognese and by far some of the best I had in NYC
Took my wife for our wedding anniversary and the food was amazing, staff was very attentive, ambiance was nice (all set for V-Day). My wife comes from a large Italian family and compared some of the dishes to her Grandmothers cooking. Will be coming back fo sure!
One of my favorite restaurants in New York. Never disappoints!
We love it there!
Always great food and prompt service
Perfect for our opera subscription
Best Lasagna and Egg Plant Parmigiana we have ever had!
Thanks so much for coming in! We hope to see you soon to try more of our family recipes! Xo, Joanne
We were very happy with our experience at Joanne! The staff was quite accommodating of our quickly approaching curtain at Lincoln Center and made certain we finished in time, but never made us feel like they were pushing us out the door. The food was delicious, with one exception. The olive oil served with bread was bitter. The bread was delicious by itself though, so we simply enjoyed it plain. We will definitely visit again!
Loved it been there before outstanding!
Everything was delicious and I am coming back soon
Hi Celia, Thanks for spending some time with us and we hope to see you again soon! Xo, Joanne
My wife and I, along with another couple had dinner here last Saturday night! The food was fantastic! It is an extremely welcoming restaurant! I wholeheartedly recommend it!
Hi Wayne, Thanks so much for spending time with us last weekend - we love that we got to be a part of your night! Hope to see you soon! Xo, Joanne
Friendly service. Delicious food. Peasant surroundings
We were a bit disappointed. The prices were high, but the quality of the food didn't justify it. I had hangar steak which can be quite good if prepared properly, but mine was tough and chewy. There are other restaurants near Lincoln Center with better food. Service wasn't great either, the waitress had too many tables and it was hard to get her attention.
Hi Jerry, So sorry to hear about your less than stellar experience. I'd love to invite you back to try us again sometime with an appetizer on me with the hopes that we can change your mind and give you a better experience. Best, Management - Joanne Trattoria
It felt like eating in someone’s home! Staff was great- very friendly. Food was great! (I appreciated the vegetarian friendly meatballs made from eggplant.)Specialty cocktail was great.
Visiting family on the Upper West Side and delighted to find this warm, welcoming restaurant that has wonderful and satisfying meals and a great wine list. We absolutely will be back!
We ate at the bar, real cozy setting in front of fireplace, great service and food!! Definitely will go back!!
Hi Mike, Thanks so much for spending some time with us - we hope you'll come back soon to try out our dining room (and the fireplace there too!). Xo, Joanne
Restaurant has lovely ambiance. cozy, neighborhood vibe. Service was very good. Menu had wonderful variety of appetizers , main dishes, etc. Portions were generous and food was expertly prepared. definitely enjoyed our dining experience here.
Felt like a local place to get good food and I was right.
We would recommend, with a few caveats.....
Food was good, but pricey.
Service was inattentive.
My wife was disappointed that only a part of her leftover entree was packed to take home.
Food was good. Restaurant had an odd smelling bad odor. Lipstick on the water glasses. Not going back.
Great experience for a girls night following a play with my family.
The food was great. The problems were service and comfort. It was freezing in there and the waitstaff sad they would put on the fireplace to warm the room. Not in advance, when I complained. They refused to put the heat on. As an aside, the fireplace was puny and couldn't possibly heat the space and the glass doors on it were shut anyway when a couple was seated in front of it. Ridiculous. Our waiter was mildly negligent.
Everyone there was extremely polite and enjoyable. The food was flavorful and delicious. The mahi mahi was incredible. The chicken parm was amazing and somehow felt very light. Soup and salad were great. Bar drinks were very well made.
Loved the food and server! I now have my neighbor hood go to for fun easy dinners‼️
Great Italian comfort food.
Nice selection of wines by the glass
location, ambience, staff and food. All fantastic and to top it off - great value for money. Love going back here.
Ambiance was perfect, food was exceptional, service was spot on and loved the Gaga wine! What is in that cannoli? Best one I've ever had and that's saying something!!!
Great service, comfortable place, nice menu, food was good. Quick meal before the opera.
A good and reasonably priced Lincoln Center alternative. A friend said that it reminded her of the red sauce places she knew growing up in Syracuse, NY. Good and basic southern Italian, fair prices, and friendly service.
