The menu and service reflect the warmth and attention of being a house. Some regulars say "it has the look and feel of Greenwich Village on the Upper West Side"
We feature fresh pasta, artisanal pizza & other great Italian staples, like chicken scarpariello, eggplant parmigiana, & lasagna. We have many vegetarian and gluten free options as well.

Meatballs were to die for!
Went here for a pre-concert dinner. Cozy place, tight seating, great wait staff. Our dinner was above average. The lunguine with the vongole was very good. I had a hangar steak with the sides which were good. It's kinda like what you make for yourself at home. That's what most impressed us. We would come here again when we come to this part of the city again.
Always the best!
I love this restaurant so much because, unlike anywhere else I've ever been, Joanne Trattoria offers an incredibly homey, comfortable, delicious and fulfilling experience. The food — especially Cynthia's Chopped Antipasti and Joanne's Meatballs — has always been served fresh and in a timely, attentive manner. Every time that I decide to go to Joanne's, I try to bring a friend or a family member who has not been to the place before because I want them to share in my incredible experience. Going to Joanne's is always such an amazing gift, and I'm always so grateful for it.
Delicious and accommodating to my food allergies.
Great food and service. Lasagna was delicious. Did not disappoint! Might just be one of our favorites now!
Always a local favorite. Great food and drink and friendly service.
So happy I got to venture out to try this amazing restaurant.
Great option that is close by to Lincoln center if you are looking for a spot to go to before or after a show!
A very rainy night. There is no place to hang coats except a few hooks as you enter. A mess! And no place to put umbrellas, so the entrance was littered with them, helter, skelter. The noise level is very high. We will not return (we went all the time when it was Vince and Eddie's)
Great for pre opera/ballet and other Lincoln Center events. The food is excellent and the service is geared to pre-theater without rushing you. We had seafood risotto which was superb as well as the penne all’s vodka and veal Marsala. The deserts were fresh and delicious.
I was in town from Boston for a conference and had to get there! Great bar tender, I hung out at the bar waiting for my cousin and they were very entertaining. Good ambiance with the family pictures and great meatballs. We sat in the back in a quiet little room and got to catch up, it was a great experience that I will repeat when I can. Thanks Germinotta Family <3
We were so excited to go here and it did not disappoint. The ambiance was perfect , the waitress was super polite and the food was amazing!!! Worth it!
Too much garlic with the meatballs but all in all excellent!
Absolutely LOVED this restaurant. You can't go wrong with just about anything on the menu, but I especially enjoyed the Alfredo and mushroom truffle pasta.
A little slow at first on service but once the order went in it was quick. Very courteous and friendly
Nice cozy neighborhood place that I have no added to my list of regular places to go before Lincoln Center. The food, as described, is really good home-style Italian cuisine. Nothing fancy, just excellent execution of satisfying regulars like spaghetti and meatballs, chicken milanese, etc. By far the best dish was Papa G's chicken which is their version of on-the-bone chicken scarpariello. I got mine with hot sausage, a seldom offered option and it was "stupid good!" In all, the meal was a bit pricey, but the quality of the food and the service were excellent. I am looking forward to my next visit.
Charming and good food. Really enjoyed our evening
We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant & would recommend!!
Absolutely recommended fantastic service sensational food. It was on my bucket list and certainly exceeded expectations. 🙏
The food was average.
Disappointing as returning diners with the anticipation of a satisfying pre-opera meal. We had allowed 2 hours so we would not be rushed but we had longer than necessary wait times between courses. It was much noisier than we recalled and the entrees were luke warm when they arrived. Yes, it was the evening Yom Kippur began so it was very crowded with pre-service diners who had a time constraint, but as opera goers, so did we. We felt somewhat ignored, especially since I had decided to use my precious $50 reward voucher to dine here.
Service was excellent. Great wait staff, drinks were good, and the food was excellent. (However wish that the portions were a little bit larger)
Great experience and would recommend and return.
We went for the birthday of our friend — who is a super Gaga Stan. The menu is full of classic Italian staples, and while nothing is too ambitious, everything delivered. A tad overpriced but happily accepted the premium for the novelty of the place for our friend. Service was super friendly, all around a good time and our friend was thrilled with it all!
We loved the food! However, it is a very tiny restaurant and I had a lady sitting right behind me who was taking up more than her share of space, so I was pressed tightly against my table for much of the meal. They also weren't serving any of the exciting desserts that are shown on their Facebook page, so that was a bit disappointing. But overall, the food was AWESOME and we will be back. The meatballs truly are amazing. It isn't their fault that the restaurant is small and popular.
Very nice evening for us all at this special place. We loved all our meals and drinks plus the service couldn’t be better. Thank you!
Great location for Lincoln Center. My wife was a little late, but I was seated anyway and nobody tried to rush us through our meal when she arrived.
Love it here . Great food , excellent service. Ricotta Pancakes are so good .
Wonderful meal! Will definitively return.
We try to eat here every time we travel to Manhattan. Can’t say enough about the place.
Food adequate. Noise level terrible.
As always, Joanne didn’t disappoint. Wonderful food, wonderful service, and a fabulous atmosphere. I make sure to visit every time I’m in the city!!
There is a beautiful outdoor patio tucked away in the back. Perfect for a Saturday lunch before the ballet!
Enjoyed a fabulous authentic Italian dinner. Food is always on point. Service is always good. Love the atmosphere. intimate dining spot
You must try the Meatballs, Spaghetti Bolognese, and Tiramisu. If they offer fresh pasta, by all means, treat yourself!
We had a choice of two tables. Both were large enough to accommodate a group double our size.
