It was fine
The service was good the foofd, OK
It could have been noisy, but it wasn’t
We were 3 ladies dining
And we enjoyed it.
Had a great server who gave me opinion that was right on. Great food and friendly staff
We love Joanne’s and go there regularly after a movie nearby. Food is reliably good, noise level is reasonable and price is fair. One of our go to places.
Drinks and dinner were delightful!
We were a little early for our reservation so took a seat at the small bar and enjoyed a glass of wine and beer in happy hour which were $6 or $7. When we were seated we had a nice table for two at the back of the restaurant in a small courtyard area which was beautifully lit and we were just by the fire which was nice. Food was excellent and service was also very good... I had the special ravioli and my husband had lasagna, the desserts were also very nice ( tiramisu and red velvet cake) but big portions and too much to finish. A lovely evening we would definitely go back!!
Amazing and I got to meet Lady Gaga’s parents!
Even very busy, service was excellent and conversation was fine. The food, as always, delicious. Thus time we shared the lasagna which was terrific. Go - enjoy the atmosphere and the food.
Amazing experience. Everything was great. Delicius pasta (one of lady gaga’s favorite), all the service was great and a fairy price.
Ambiance and decor are adorable. Service was excellent. Appetizers and wine were excellent. Entree was good but slightly salty for me.
This was our first dining experience in NYC. We came solely because it is Lady Gaga’s parent’s restaurant, but we’re pleasantly surprised at the quality of the establishment. Seafood Mac and cheese didn’t stack up as well as anticipated but the spaghetti and meatballs was excellent. Service was very pleasant and ambience is delightful. You pay the price but overall was a wonderful experience and would recommend going.
It was great! My friend and I went for dinner to celebrate my 30th birthday.
Moms 95 birthday
Staff was very nice. We arrived almost an hour early for our reservation and they sat us right away. The meatballs were incredible tasted like homemade meatballs. The red sangria was also very good. I got the chicken parm which was very good and my husband got the ribeye steak which was huge and cooked to perfection. Will definitely be going back soon. I highly recommend Joannes.
We got a hotel recommendation for Joanne's - Lady Gaga's upper west side italian bistro. The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived but did fill up by 8:00. It took way too long between each step - for example, a request to see the wine menu again took around 5 minutes. It took 45 minutes to get food to the table. The focaccia had the texture of bread that has been microwaved but was served cold. Our taste of the two whites sold by the glass was so bad that we didn't order wine (this has never happened before in my entire life). However, the charred calamari salad was very good, and the artichoke chicken was at least a B+. The ambience was fine if felt a little manufactured rather than like something that has been there for years, nods to GAGA/Little Monsters, etc. There are so many great small italian restaurants in Manhattan, I would skip this one.
Nice pasta: orchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe: yummy. Gnocci bolognese also good. Wine: generous. Noise not too bad! Only negative: focaccia served to begin was terribly stale and dry. But overall a nice, reasonably priced before Lincoln Center dining place.
Cozy restaurant, but overpriced. Food ok.
No owner or manager on site. Service awful. Emily, server states gen manager Laura not available and works when she feels like. Owner (lady Gaga family) absentee owner and not involved. Found it hard to believe all the bs that was presented. Food was cold, and both server and bartender could care less if the experience was not good. Such a shame. Would never go back. Very embarrassed that I Chose this place to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Was not even acknowledged, and when I mentioned it to server Emily was given a very snide remark
Our first visit here and a great one concerning the food and service. Only 'issue' was a large private party that some people were less than polite and made things a little tough on the employees and those of us who were there to enjoy dinner. Despite that, we had a terrific experience. We will be back. For those that don't know, this is owned by the parents of Lady Gaga.
Excellent food & service, great experience! My favorite place to eat in NYC!!
Delicious food with friendly service. Drinks and bartender deserve notice too.
Food was delicious. Reminded me of my old neighborhood restaurant growing up. Wait service was superb - so warm and friendly.
excellent, attentive service very pleasant always fun
Love the food, but the prices are a bit... pricey.
Was a great place! Food is delicious and prices are good, I totally recommend this place
Joanne’s offered a cozy and comfortable venue for old-fashioned red gravy Italian fare. The chicken parm and lasagna were just what we wanted and expected and were delicious. The Gaga connection added an extra zest.
Excellent experience. Highly recommended!!
Over salted food. Fish special over cooked, garlic filled. Just lack luster. Plenty of water and kind server
Cafeteria food. Veal cutlets so badly cooked we had to scrape off the soggy breading, soup as salty as canned soup, one wine sour as vinegar and another oily (ended up with beer). Amateur cooking in an ambiance only notable for its atrocious noise level.
Everything about Joanne’s is perfect! Felt like I was in a friend or family member’s home. The service was great and the food and dessert couldn’t have been more perfect!
Thank you so much for their hospitality ! He is so kind ! Our dinner of Halloween was be perfect ! Thank you again ! I hope coming again ! Xo guys ! 😘😘 #littlemonster
I've eaten here before and enjoyed it again on Halloween, The whiskey sour was great and not weak. Joanne's meatball appetizer and the seafood mac and cheese were both tasty, but, unfortunately, this time I found them both to be heavily over salted, especially the meatballs. The kitchen could think about cutting down on the sodium. My guests had mixed reactions to the food; two of them would give the place only a "6" out of 10, and one said the red velvet cake was terrible. All in all, you might like this place, although based on my last time here I can't say it was spectacular. Pleasant and friendly wait staff.
Wonderful Italian experience at Joanne's. Great food, (awesome meatballs), great service and lovely.
Ambiance was nice. Friendly staff. We sat in the back which was comfortable. Food was not very good. Pasta we ordered did not taste like it was a cheese sauce at all, very disappointed. Spaghetti was only fair. Did not offer additional bread. Loved the sparkling water. Overpriced for quality of food. Came from Canada and expected more. Sorry would have loved to give it a better review.
I ordered a "Lavender Blonde" cocktail -- blueberry and citron vodka, muddled blueberry and basil, Limonata san Pellegrino -- which they served in a water glass with annoying pieces of blueberry floating in it. I also had what must be a house specialty, the JoAnne Meatballs, which were not particularly flavorable or tasty enough to be an eponymous item, and actually gave me mild indigestion. The minestrone soup: I don't know how you mess that up. It was more or less tasteless. Thinking about it, I should have added salt. But quite honestly I would rather have gone home and opened a can of Progresso. I liked the people who worked there, and I liked the ambiance. But I won't be going back.
We went because of my gf being a Lady Gaga superfan. This was her #1 requirement as soon as we decided we'd be visiting New York. The food was delicious. I ordered the linguini primavera with fresh pasta - I loved it! My gf ordered the spaghetti and meatball with fresh pasta and she said it was really good. MIL ordered lasagna and enjoyed it as well. The drinks were less of a success. The first order was Lavender Blonde: it was a bit stronger than my preference but she enjoyed it. She followed that with John Wayne and it was VERY STRONG and she didn't enjoy it nearly as much.
Overall, the price is a bit steep for pasta, but we knew that going in. On my tab, two entrees and two drinks was over $100. She enjoyed that it was Gaga's dad's place, but I can say that we wouldn't frequent this restaurant if we lived in the area.
A good place to go before heading over to Lincoln Center for a performance.
I have been to the restaurant before and it was good but maybe there is a new chef because the food Saturday was great! We had a seafood salad that was very tasty and fresh then had branzino which was the best I ever had!
Food was delicious. Went prior to a 7pm theater show. Became very crowded very quickly. Wait staff is responsive and work like a well oiled machine turning over tables, but we never felt rushed by the staff. Would recommend.
I traveled from NJ with 3 friends to have lunch at this restaurant and the trip was well worth it. The atmosphere was truly authentic, the food was amazing, and Mr. Germanotta was so gracious allowing us to take a photo. We have all been talking non stop about the experience and plan to visit again. God Bless this family for all of the good they spread in the world and for being so humble. My daughters first trip to NYC and we were referred here through a recommendation of a new local. We not there at 8 for 8:30 reservations so sat at the bar for a drink. The hostess took us eight at 8:30 to our table. Service started a little slow. We shared the walnut arugula salad which was light and full of flavor. It was a busy Friday so it took a bit for entrees to arrive. Daughter had the spaghetti and meatball and I had the lasagna. Neither disappointed! If we had been able to take home leftovers we would have but instead we plowed through and left just a little behind. I would have loved a glass of wine with dinner but our waitress never came back to check on us until dessert time. We heard the cannoli was amazing and it’s true. It was big and the shell crisp. I hate soggy cannoli. They get a gold star for adding a birthday candle to the cannoli. Overall I would go back for the food.
