JJ’s Restaurant is a Vancouver institution. Both the kitchen and front of house are run by students who are in their 2nd level of cook training. Enjoy a three-course a la carte lunch which is reasonably priced and produced with the highest level of passion and care by students with the guidance of their Chef Instructors. If you are interested in a group booking please email culinaryarts@vcc.ca. Chef's Table dinner is a set menu, and courses can not be changed due to guest preferences. We have these specific proteins on the menu to further the student's knowledge in the program.

Please note that JJ’s and Chef’s Table service may be interrupted by inclement weather, including extreme heat or significant snowfalls. VCC makes this precaution to keep the staff and customers safe. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

The Chef's Table dinners, are one of Vancouver's best-kept secrets! Enjoy a gourmet five-course meal designed by Chef Hamid Salimian with optional selected wine pairings, served in a unique group setting with only 10 seats available per night. The Chef's Table dinners are run by students, led by award winning instructors in Vancouver Community College's International Culinary Arts Program. Thank you for supporting VCC students-gratuities help the VCC Foundation create awards and bursaries. Dietary restrictions and preferences may be accommodated with at least 24 hrs notice. Given that this is a cullinery school, meaning most people who are cooking and serving you are students. I would give them 5 stars, excellent value and experience! Will definitely come back!

We enjoyed our experience at JJ's. The servers were very polite and didn't intrude at all. The entrees did take quite awhile though. The value was fairly good as you could get a 3 course meal for $40 or al a carte for an individual price. Some entrees were larger than others so hence my lower rating on value. Overall, it was a nice experience as my son is interested in pursuing Culinary Arts post secondary so we wanted to check it out. The food itself was delicious.Every dish was seasoned well, cooked perfectly and very tasty. 👌 My only complaint about the food itself would be the bones we had in the trout. :(

The food was nicely presented and taste was very good. A relaxing atmosphere, and quiet enough to enjoy a conversation between ourselves. Students did their best ,as it was only their second day in the dining room, so pack your patience. Would definitely would return.

Always enjoy supporting the students at VCC downtown campus while dining at JJ's - have been dining at JJ's for over 40 years!

student staff were excellent and very exacting about their work. I eat here often and this was on of the better experiences. Terry and also the bartender and all waiting staff. Chef came out to chat. Excellent overall.

I order 3 courses for $40. Food and service both very good. Recommend reserved 90 mins for lunch.

I went to JJ’s with two co-workers for lunch today and it was fabulous. The service was great and the food amazing. I would highly recommend putting this on your dine out list. It was great to see young people so interested in what they’re learning and the level of professionalism was noticed. Kudos to the teaching staff. All around great experience.
