JJ's at the Copper Pot Ratings and Reviews
This was our first visit. Expectations were high due to advertisements. Disappointed. Bar service extremely slow, service very poor. Waiter only returned to deliver food and bill. There were 4 of us, 2 of which have food health issues. There are no substitutions, but they would allow us to order different sides in addition to what is served. I felt as though I was being penalized for having an illnesses. Try Baxters food is better, service is great and friendly, view is fabulous and they will cater to your dietary needs.
Our guests were encouraged by our years of dining experience at JJ’s. Sadly no cigars this Valentines dinner. Server lacked interest in our table, excuses all night, unengageing, inattentive and service was almost embarrassing.
Sure miss Mary and Danielle, too!
Wife and I celebrated Valentine day with an great dinner at JJ's. What could be better than starting with a COLD beer and a mixed drink (for the wife) in the lounge accompanied by fabulous live, but not loud, music. Due to the occasion, a beautiful rose was presented to my wife upon entry. The meal, as usual, was superior (batterfried lobster for her and scallops with shrimp on a risotto bed, with a side of 3 oz filet, for me.) The stuffed (with lobster) mushroom appetizer was also excellent! Prices are very reasonable and service well above what one may expect on a busy evening.
Definitely a must go-to restaurant on the West side of the Lake of the Ozarks.
The bar was packed with a private party. Service was slower than in the past....2hrs for our meal without desert. 3 of our 4 meals were outstanding but my steak was full of fat and grissle. This has always been our go to restaurant and will chalk it up to a bad night.
Great food and service. A little pricey but it was expected. Rivals any restaurant on the Osage Beach side. With as many cars in the parking lot I thought it would be busier but they had many open tables. Well worth it for a special occasion. We will go back.
JJ's is one of our favorite restaurants. I don't even have to look at the menu, I ALWAYS order the fried lobster tail. My husband has ordered steaks and has loved them. The salad (especially the croutons and house dressing) is the best! I'm confident that anything you order at JJ's is going to be good!
We made a reservation for 7:15 but didn't get seated until almost 8:00. Meanwhile most of the dining room was empty. I mentioned this to the staff and was told the owner required them to have people wait. Nice.
Our entrées didn't arrive until 9:30 and my filet was overcooked. Maybe because I had made no secret of my frustration at waiting?!
Staff is always nice, but for the price and hassle of finishing our meal 3 hours after our reservation we probably won't be back.
We are weekenders on the west side of the lake and it's too bad because this is the only table-cloth restaurant on the west side.
Arrived on time for our reservation but were asked to wait about 20 minutes in the bar even thought there were empty tables and they were not that busy. Service was good. We, however, had to wait over an hour to get our main course. We had prime rib and salmon. Both were good, but not outstanding. We go to JJ's once or twice a year even though we come to the lake every weekend from March to November. We would go more often if the value justified the prices they charge and if they could speed up the time it takes to receive your order. Our reservation was for 7:30 and we were not finished with our dinner until 9:30.
The calamari and salad were excellent. However, we arrived at 5:20 and did not get entree until 6:40. When served main course, the wife's lobster was good but my ribeye, which was ordered medium well, was nearly raw in some portions. I tried to flag our waiter down with not much luck. Finally got another waitress to come over and she agreed that my steak was not cooked properly. She tracked down our waiter but that took another 5 minutes. I remained concerned but pleasant and he told me he could take it back to kitchen but because it was busy it would take another 20 minutes to cook. I told him as long as we had been there, and the wife was 1/2 thru with her dinner I could not wait that long. He said OK and left. I at least expected to be compensated. He came back shortly with our ticket in the full amount and did not even ask if we wanted dessert. I paid the bill in the amount of $118.00 and change even though I was not able to eat my steak.
Finally tried this restaurant after driving by so many times, incredible everything from service to the food incredible, the salad with homemade croutons and dressing, bread and dipping sauce, then came the prime rib and baked potato and roasted carrots oh it didn’t end there, the best bread pudding I have ever had in my life, my compliments to the chef!
This place is considered upscale for Lake of the Ozarks, but it is not fancy or pretentious. A broad, appealing menu with much better choices than the ubiquitous burger-and-wings places nearby should appeal to couples and families. Our filet mignon entrees included a good salad served family style along with freshly baked bread. The steaks were properly cooked to temperature and the meat itself was tender and trimmed of fat and membranes. Our excellent server was attentive without being overbearing. Overall, a great meal at a fair price.
