We had a wonderful meal and experience at JJ Hapgood General Store & Eatery and plan on going back in the near future. The place was fun and comfortable and the staff was very attentive. We were on pizza and burger night and the pizza's crust was delicious. I had a black bean burger which was excellent especially for a vegetarian meal. This is a new favorite and can't wait to bring out family and friends soon. Thank you

We had a terrific meal here over the busy July 4th weekend. They were clearly a little stretched given the volume and we didn’t receive cocktails we had ordered until after food started coming out. But I loved the way they handled the hiccup: the host, server, and owner (I think?) all stopped by our table to apologize and they comped the drinks. Very classy! More important, the food was outstanding. The steak in particular wowed us. We will absolutely return!

Heading to an event at Weston Playhouse, so we needed a place that was easy, basic and fast and JJ Hapgood fit the bill. Enjoyed sitting outside and watching families enjoying themselves. There's a space for everyone with a bar indoors and a few 4 tops. Larger communal tables, also indoors for larger groups, and finally the terrace outside where we sat w/ tables for 4 and 6 and hightops! Service was efficient, food very good and as busy as they were, we were in and out in just over an hour, perfect! This is new ownership minding the store and I think they truly deserve a chance to re-establish this venerable Peru local! Give it a try!

Lived in Manhattan for 30 years and have traveled the world, and this is a top 5 restaurant. Sounds crazy to say that, but it's a fact. Dime store setting is quaint but not kitschy. Staff is unbelievably friendly, and cocktails superb. Given the lack of local competition, they don't even have to be this good. They must love what they do, because there's no other way this level of excellence is achieved

First time back since new ownership and I had a fantastic experience! The staff was great and I had one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had! And for Dinner we had seared scallops with Brussel sprouts that was cooked to perfection! We also had a super yummy salad and chicken. We will definitely be coming back!

Pricey! $30+ for a pizza and $17+ for a salad isn’t reasonable. Flavors were “good” but not what we’ve experienced here in the past. 15 minute wait for a cocktail before dinner at the bar without being busy. We love the ambiance and with try once more when the garden is open.
