During the COVID-19 crisis, we will limit seating to 50% of our dining room. Our staff will be wearing masks and gloves, and we will have them available for customers upon request. Reservations ARE required, and we will be unable to seat walk-in diners who do not have a reservation.
When you arrive at the Radisson for your reservation, please call us from your car or hotel room at (218) 722-8439 to inquire if your table is ready. We may ask you to wait in our lobby or our Superior Street level in our lounge in the event we are not ready for you. We are doing this to limit the number of people in our elevators at any given time, and to avoid having people congregating near our host stand. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during these truly unique times.
Wonderful food and ambience. we live in Duluth and this is our go to restaurant for a romantic dinners
The hamburger I wanted well done and it was burnt I didnt even eat half of it. I would never go back there to eat.
Food was mediocre for the price. Steak was overcooked. Veggies and rice pilaf were blah and Meal was cold. I will say that The service was great though!
My husband and I dined at JJ Astor as part of a celebration of 13 years of marriage. The atmosphere and the views were spectacular. We made our reservation for 7pm and we were able to see the lake by twilight and into the night. The food was spectacular and we had an excellent evening.
It was amazing. The food was spectacular and so was our waitress.
The only thing I would change is the rolls you serve. They tasted like cardboard. Everything else was superb! We will return.
What a great experience we had with Tony! We celebrated our engagement and this place made it feel so special. Tony even went above and beyond and got some roses for the table before his shift. I highly recommend this place and will be going back.
All the staff were courteous and friendly. Appropriate health measures in place (masks, gloves, social distancing) and tables were well spaced. Food was excellent. The 360 views are fabulous and the overall experience well worth the cost, which is a bit more than the average for the area. Whenever we visit Duluth, we always make a point of getting reservations here as it is so enjoyable. Highly recommend this restaurant.
My fiancé and I had the nicest, most romantic evening at JJ Astor--it was the perfect ending to end our weekend getaway in Duluth! The rotating/360º views concept made our experience there that much better. The food, drinks, and desserts were absolutely delicious and incredible, and our waiter (Jeremy) was so very patient and sweet. Thank you, staff, for a beautiful evening!!
Great view of the city of Duluth with great food and some of the best service I have ever had.
We went there to have a nice meal for date night and my significant other ordered Filet Mignon and I ordered the Seafood Platter. The Filet Mignon had no bacon wrapped around it, and it was burnt, tough and very dry. The vegetables were very hard. In my Seafood Platter the fish was very soggy but the scallops and shrimp were good. My vegetables were very hard. We also didn't get our bread until we asked. We waited for our meal for over an hour. The waitress only came to our table twice maybe three times. We were very disappointed in our meal and the total bill was $101.00. I have no problem paying that amount for a meal if it was really good, but we were really up set with how this meal was. We told the waitress how bad it was and we left. That night there was a lot of meals that were not being done right. So very disappointed. We were in room 908 Sunday August 30th and checked out on the 31st.
The view was spectacular seeing the whole entire duluth! The food was very very average. We had crab dip for an appetizer which was good but entrees were not. We had the fettuchine and the duck cavatappi. I’d go back for appetizers and the view.
We loved everything about it!
Food was fantastic, drinks were strong, and the views were amazing. This is a place everyone should try when in Duluth.
Service was very good, slow but good. Restaurant was clean. Food was horrible. The ranch was bitter and didn’t even taste like ranch, so the salads were horrible and I got charged for an extra salad on top of everything. Steaks were well, well done way over cooked. Pasta had no taste, no seasoning or spices at all. We had a $200 bill, to be honest we stopped for fast food Mexican today and everybody agreed it was better than our meal. So, so disappointed.
Extremely short staffed, took way too long for server to come around. Hardly anything on the menu for someone who doesn’t eat seafood.
Kids ordered chicken tenders and they actually sent them out of the kitchen burnt.
Highly disappointing from how this restaurant was years ago.
Servers attire wasn’t up to standard, didn’t practice proper COVID precautions. Food was taken out of the kitchen without server wearing gloves, they then stopped at the bar to put some on before going to the table.
Our drinks weren’t made correctly or even served in the correct glassware.
Had a customer that was at the bar that was highly intoxicated who they kept serving. This customer kept walking around the restaurant talking to seated customers and no employees attempted to get him to stop and leave.
This trip was a complete waste of time and money.
Food quality is awful. Steak was a cheap sirloin cut with a ton of grizzle. Not cooked to requested doneness.
We were very leased with the food and service. We plan to come back.
Atmosphere was cool, with the rotating floor. Kids loved it. Food was just ok. Food was luke warm, burgers were nothing fancy.
Service was slow
Perfect night out! The food was great. The view was amazing!
Great view of course! The food is consistently good. The manager was kind enough to call me about a comment I made on my tab (with tip of course!). Follow up is good, even on something as small as not offering you another glass of wine after the first flipped from your hand. Not every restaurant even cares, so points for that. It’s hard on all establishments dealing with the Covid realities.
Speaking of which, business travelers be forewarned due to Covid breakfast is not available until 9:00 AM, as hours are abbreviated.
I’d recommend any if the salads or the salmon here, also great prime rib when available.
If you want a romantic setting, fantastic food and an awesome view - Go to JJ’s at the Radisson!
Great food, friendly Staff, and great atmosphere.
Great place for a romantic dinner. We celebrated our wedding dinner party of 8 and our 31st Wedding Anniversary on the exact date, and the same restaurant.
Slowwwww service. Very dated, feels like you go back in time and not in a cool retro way. Food was just ok, but pricey for what it was. The view was nice.
The Radisson where the restaurant was located was awful, very low class feeling.
Had t been in years but looked forward to showing Duluth off to a first timer. Stayed in the hotel with its own issues, but this was a bigger disappointment. Menu was not the one on OpenTable. It’s hard in Covid time, granted, but the menu was very basic and not as classy as I could be for such a signature address in Duluth. Server was good. but the food was off. Taste of the risotto was bad, the rest just meh. We found the servers in both restaurants in the building to be unknowledgeable about what beverage products were available when asked. Tattered carpet ,wallpaper and outdated decor didn’t help. Pretty disappointed, but the staff was friendly. Maybe they didn’t get training. Too bad
JJ Astor is rated 4.2 stars by 27 OpenTable diners.
