Of the two entrees, one was great and very generous; the other was small, and expensive. I had a garlic encrusted halibut which was over $20 for lunch. There were a few cherry tomatoes, along with fair-sized piece of halibut but that was it... no bread, etc. I was hungry when I left and it also arrived lukewarm. Since I was with a business colleague, I did not complain but it was marginal
Always love Jimmys! Great deals on wine and food on Sundays
This is a neighborhood Eatery which we enjoy having meals. The staff is always friendly and the food is wonderful, especially the halibut!
We had a great meal with outstanding service!
Good food and service
Great spot. Great place to bring clients
the fresh halibut was delicious. The 1/2 price special was great. Our service was wonderful and
we really enjoyed everything. Thank you. We will return.
I have been to Jimmys many times in a group setting. On Sunday, I was not impressed with the waitress. We had to wait for our water, bread. Water took a long time to refill. There was no offer of extra bread. We asked that the bill be split. She did not remember to do that. We ended up figuring it out for ourselves. We were a party of 6. She was told when ordering that we wanted the bill split. The restaurant was not busy so there really was no excuse but laziness on her part. I will go back but hopefully will not get this waitress.
The service was outstanding; professional and helpful. The ambience was nice but the restaurant was noisy. Food was good, prepared as described and served warm. Good options on menu and reasonable wine list.
Halibut is the best in town. Always great service and food.
Aalways good food, prepared well, and servers are very helpful and knowledgeable.
I met a girlfriend for lunch and we both were impressed with the menu options, the food was wonderful, our service was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We both said we would definitely come back again!
We have gone to Jimmy’s for special occasions in the past. This year we had our family Easter Dinner there and everyone could have their own favorite meal. It worked out great all compliments and no complaints.
We were unaware that it was a buffet, the website had a nice, moderately priced brunch MENU which is why we made the reservation. We walked into a $39.95 per person buffet brunch which was ok. I did appreciate the gluten free items being designated. For $90 a couple including tax it was not what we expected.
Our family had a fabulous Easter brunch with great food great service and a great server - Allison.
Easter brunch was great! Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was good!
Jimmy's is a must! One of my favorite spots. Food is always on point, they have the best coffee and the wine list is perfect! I've been there many times with family, for business, for happy hours and for nice dinners. I've never had a bad experience. Thanks!
Great food and service for retirement lunch!
New York Strip and Filet were absolutely fantastic. Perfectly prepared. Among our top-two steak experiences in the Twin Cities.
Great service and atmosphere. Food was good.
Birthday celebration; very accommodating for kids
We had a group of 4 and three of us had either burgers or meatloaf, which were good. One of our group had the special, Salmon Oscar which was cold when served. It was taken away and returned within a couple minutes ( microwaved?) and now the rice pilaf was still cold and the fish was over cooked. It was returned again. They took the cost of the meal, salad and drinks off the bill and apologized-wanted to to make it right and were very apologetic.
We got right in for our reservation and they were busy. One of our friends has gluten allergy and so we had mentioned in the reservation notes about gluten free options and found out that their gluten free menu is three years old and obselete. The only item classified as gluten free were bread but then they didn't bring any out for our friend when they Alex if we would like bread and butter whole we wait for our entrees. Our server was friendly but lack the gluten free knowledge of the menu and had another wait staff came by to tell us the menu is old and so if you want something gluten free then they would have to check with the kitchen. It seems the manager on duty only had certain tables that he was visiting and came by our second three times but didn't stop to ask how was everything and just walked on pass and when we were leaving he didn't even bother to say thank you or any greetings. It's been awhile since I last are at Jimmy's and will probably be awhile again. My screwdriver drink was a little off but the 2 gingers sour was good. My steak salad was good except that I had asked for medium well but my steak was done medium and the iceberg lettuce came out as rest wedges instead of chopped up already. My husband's meatloaf was good but a little dried unless you add more gravy then it was tasty. The shrimp fettuccine lack taste as our friend kept adding the sea salt from the table. Our gluten free friend enjoy his prime rib sandwich.
The food is pretty good - not cheap but in line with competition. I had the seared Ahi tuna salad and the other guy had a sandwich and French onion soup. I'd rate the food a 6 out of 10. What really made the lunch worth returning for was the outstanding service we received from Courtney, our server. She was genuine, friendly, and attentive. I appreciate good service when I receive it and she is definitely an asset to Jimmy's!
We visited Jimmy'a on St. Patrick's Day. My boyfriend enjoyed the corned beef and cabbage which was delicious. I had the pan friend walleye as did my 99 year old father. I ordered a split of bubbly and others in our party ordered wine and beer. Our server was helpful, attentive and did a great job. The walleye I ordered was done perfectly and was delicious. We asked for the corner booth in the bar for happy hour and it was very roomy. Happy Hour at Jimmy's in the bar is very nice and the menu has great specials. I cannot say enough good things about Jimmy's. You cannot beat the price and quality!
We love Jimmy's. The food is always good as is the service. We like the fact that they offer a lunch combo. Their soup is excellent, especially the wild rice. They make a great walleye sandwich!!
As pretty much usual, it was a great experience, made all the better by our waitress, Rebecca H. It was 11:30 and it was really picking up in there. She was at the table almost immediately and throughout the meal. I was really impressed with her attentiveness during such a busy time! And, as usual, the food was great. Jimmy's always runs a good ship and will always be on my list of favorite places to go! Thanks again!
Waitress was rude! Food was amazing! We love this place and will be back on our next trip to MN.
Good atmosphere for a date night! Nice steak house without being overly fancy. Prices aren’t too bad either!
The prime rib was the most tender I’ve had. The crab stuffed walleye is amazing. Bar atmosphere is great!
I had dinner at Jimmys on Friday night with my mother. We order a variety of appetizers. Everyone of them was delicious. The waitress was attentive without being pushy. We will definitely be coming back.
Consistently awesome! Always a fun place to introduce and share with friends! Thank you!
Great place for a quiet Saturday lunch. Turkey sandwich was tasty and tacos with smoked salmon and tuna were a hit. Good wine and wonderful brownie dessert!
Quality is falling off, halibut special has always been good. However, steaks and sides are suffering.
Always good food and great service. Leeann rocks!
I was in town with three colleagues for a meeting and Jimmy's was recommended by the hotel. Our table was ready when we arrived and our drinks and appetizers arrived promptly. Our server was attentive throughout the meal. I had the Cedar Plank Salmon and it was moist and flavorful. Two of my colleagues had the Crab and Shrimp Stuffed Walleye and both of them cleaned their plates! My other colleague had Louisiana BBQ Shrimp and she said it was delicious. We enjoyed the dining experience and look forward to returning the next time we are in town.
Nice table, pleasant server. Loud noise level and server had difficulty hearing us order. One person received wrong item due to this. Manager incorrectly came to our table with gift cards offering to comp our meal then when server redirected him he apologized and went to next table. Felt we should have gotten something for his teasing us with a free meal. Overall okay, not great and for the price likely won’t return any time soon.
Be careful Open Table shares your e-mail Address with restaurants. Not cool. I received Marketing Spam from Jimmy’s.
Our server was stellar and the food was great. Good spot for a business lunch or meal with a friend. Lively, but not too noisy for conversation. I'll be back!
Great service...if you try it once you will want to return
